(Wow have I been a terrible person for not getting back to this, sorry for the long wait I completely forgot I had this story going but now I really want to continue this amazing story, just a reminder that Cobra is an OC along with Heolia being an OC from my friend which she kindly let me use for this project.)

In the Past

"Cobra if you want to be a better assassin you better step up your game and show me more power". I jumped and dodged as best as I could as my three opponents tried to take a hold of me. I grasped on to one of them and threw them over my shoulder only to have another kick at my stomach. I held my stomach and slid to the ground trying to catch my breath. My father raised his hand and the fighting ceased.

"Cobra can I have a word with you" said my father in a stern voice.

"Yes sir" I said standing up and following him into the forest. My father had been putting me on so many training sessions trying to make me the strongest assassin in our tribe besides him of course.

As soon as we were out of sight my father took a blow right to my face with his staff causing my cheek to turn red instantly. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, you are a pathetic accuse for an assassin if you call that fighting".

I wiped the blood from my mouth and closed my eyes trying to forget about the pain but I knew it wouldn't help. "Father I am trying my best here, you think this is easy for me". I realized what I had just said but it was too late. My father gave a kick right at my stomach which made me fall to the ground. "Don't you ever talk back to the chief of your tribe".

"You use to be the shining star in this tribe and now you are nothing but a weak pup, don't go soft just because your mother died". I had to fight back the tears as he said this. He gripped ahold of my face and turned it so I was looking directly at his.

"Remember this son that the only way to win in a battle is to have more power than your opponent".

Present Day

I sat quietly in the tree as my twilight colored eyes gazed intently at the small house in front of me. Inside the house I could see three figures, one was a fox with two tails, a blue hedgehog, and then the small little wolf girl or rather my…. sister. It had been about 10 years since I had sent my little sister down the river in that boat. Somehow this blue hedgehog had come across her and took her home with him, which was on the other side of the world. I was glad that someone had found her and took care of her all these years. But to be picked up by Sonic the Hedgehog had not been part of the plan at all. Especially since this blue blur was fighting the most feared man on the planet… Dr. Robotnick. He had taken over most of the plant in his youth and turned anyone he saw as a threat into a robot. My people and I did not know this until we saw the Solar tribe being attacked and turned into robots right before our eyes. This is why we hid ourselves away from the world to avoid the dangers that this mad man had thrust upon our once peaceful planet. But this Sonic the Hedgehog thought for some reason that him and his so called Freedom Fighters could take him down. Honestly I think that they are just rushing to their deaths with what they are trying to do, but all things considering I admire them for their bravery since it seems they are the only ones taking action. Although by bringing my sister into this battle has made them an enemy in my eyes. I only arrived in the Great Forest a couple of days ago and I had already seen enough. Apparently the leader of this group was not the blue hedgehog but rather Princess Sally. It intrigued me that she had found a group willing to stop the mad doctor from his conquest. I watched as my sister trained with the small fox that seemed to be the same age as her. I had to admit that she was a good fighter and could handle herself in a fight, but that can only keep you alive for so long.

All of a sudden the comlink started to beep in my ear. I had planted a bug in the house and the bug would turn on the minute someone started to speak. I pressed the device closer to my ear so I could hear better.

"Man am I tired, I don't think I have ever trained so hard in my life" spoke the two tailed fox.

"Well we did miss yesterday, so Sonic thought it would be good to get an extra hour in" as my sister spoke I couldn't help but smile, I still loved the warm feeling I got when I heard her speak. "You guys did a really great job today, you worked hard" praised Sonic.

"So does that mean we can relax now, I wanted to go and work on the X tornado" said Tails.

"Tails how is that relaxing, that just sounds like more work" laughed Heolia.

"Well if you liked machines as much as I did you wouldn't see it as work ha ha".

"Well you guys have the rest of the day off so do whatever you want, I on the other hand am going to grab myself a chill dog" said Sonic licking his lips. With that the hedgehog dashed out the door and out of sight. It was surprising that the blue rodent was not a bowling ball with how much food he consumed.

Seeing that there was nothing interesting going to happen, I decided to head on back to my camp which was located on the other side of the Great Forest. It was drizzling by the time I got to my cave where I decided to set up my home base. The cave was large inside but not going very deep as the inside was just a big circle. I took off my com link and placed it with my other gear. I hid all my gear in the back of a cave where I had dug a hole and placed rocks all around to make sure no one got to it. I then proceeded to make myself a fire and get something to eat. I looked around and saw I still had some fish in my kill bag. I gutted the fish and placed it on a stick and then set it above the now roaring fire. My stomach growled when the smell of the now cooking fish hit my nose. It occurred to me that I hadn't really eaten in the last two days, I had been too busy trying to make my way to Knothole. As an Assassin I was trained to be able to go days without food but I never really saw the point in that. While I waited for the fish to be done I took a look at the shadows that the fire was casting on the walls. That's when something caught my eye, all of the shadows were on the cave wall to the right but on the left side I saw there was a single shadow. I didn't want to think anything of it but when it started to move that's when I realized who it was. I quickly reached for one of my throwing knives and was ready to attack.

"Alright Mephiles I know your there stop being a coward and show yourself" I yelled. The shadow just stayed there until it stared to grow bigger and take the form of a hedgehog. "I'm surprised you remember me Cobra it has been quite a long time" his gaze never once leaving my eyes. I started to take a few steps back as to keep my distance from the shadow, I may be a very skilled assassin but even I wasn't stupid enough to mess with this type of power.

"What's the matter Cobra you don't seem very happy to see me" said the shadow as he took a step towards me. "Don't you take another step towards me you monster" I said pointing my blade at him. "Oh come now you really think that's going to hurt me" Mephiles raised his hand and a shadow barrier blocked me from exiting the cave. I then saw that two dark vines wrapped around my feet so that I couldn't move. It was clear to me now that Mephiles intended on staying and so was I. "You know I have to say it's a little upsetting to see a partner act in such a manner".

"We are no longer partners you snake" I barked at him. Mephiles pretended to look offend but I knew he was just playing his cards. "This may be true but if you remember" he got up close to my face so that I was looking directly into his demon eyes.

"YOUR SOUL STILL BELONGS TO ME"
