Shit… Charles Campion thought. I can't believe it. He knew what was being made at the base he was stationed at and where his family lived. He knew what would happen if there was major containment breach.
Oh god, oh my god! He look at the screen in guard outpost and saw the scientists trying in vain to escape, "we're dying like flies, hit the manual override Campion! Do it now, DO IT NOW!
Sally, Baby lavonne, He thought "Campion, this is a code red!" as he ran to save his family and escape the base, he heard "we've lost one of the bugs, repeat we've lost one of the bugs, you have to close the gate!"
he ran as fast as he could to his family, soon he was at his home. Getting his wife and kid, they ran to their 2012 Chevy Sonic. A few seconds later, they were driving to the exit when the gate started to close by set itself. "The auto override must have kicked in", he thought.
The gap got shorter and shorter and all the while his wife trying to get him to slow down, then a bang! The car had made it, the family safe… or are they? A doll was left behind, a crow landed next to it and poked it. It flew off to follow the speeding car. A few days later, his family dead and him close to it,
he told Stuart Redman of the virus called "Project Blue" and of a man… a dark man following him. He told him no matter how fast he tried to outrun, he'd be there grinning at him. Campion laughed and said "You can't outrun the dark man" and died on the road at a gas station of a one stoplight town in east Texas.
The virus with an infectivity level of 99% and lethality of 100% would soon mutate and would make its victims die a slow, painful death.
