Here is the next chapter in the Faye story. I hope you all like it. Please let me know what you think!

SILENCE

When Dean woke up the next morning, he found that Faye had already showered and was packing up her things. He tried saying good morning and asking how she felt, but Faye couldn't even make eye contact with Dean. She wouldn't say anything or answer any questions. He sighed. This was not good.

He grabbed his clothes and headed to the bathroom to change. Thirty minutes later, they were checking out of their rooms and heading to the Impala. Sam noticed the tension in Faye as she slid into the back seat. He sent Dean a questioning look, who promptly ignored him. Something was up and he was going to figure it out. He knew Dean well enough to know when something was bothering him and although he didn't know Faye that well he could tell she was uncomfortable.

They hit the road only stopping for bathroom breaks, food, and to switch off who was driving. Dean was ready to get back to Bobby's. After what had happened with Faye the night before, he was anxious to get an outward perspective. He needed to talk to Sam about what happened, but he hadn't gotten the opportunity. But once they were at Bobby's he would be able to get some time alone with him.

They drove through the night and arrived early the next morning. They had called Bobby to tell him that they were coming and that Faye was with them and he had told them that he would be ready for them when they got there. As they pulled up to the old house, Faye sighed in relief to be out of the car. They had been going for almost 24 hours straight and was ready for a real bed. She surveyed the house in front of her and the man standing on the porch. He was older and seemed a little rough. His appearance put her slightly on edge, but if Sam and Dean trusted him, she guessed she could too.

"'Bout time you all got here. I got some breakfast waitin' inside, then you all can get some shut eye." Bobby turned and walked back into the house without another word.

Sam and Dean grabbed their bags from the trunk and headed inside. Faye followed behind dragging her bag. Dean saw her struggling and took the bag from her carrying it up the steps and inside. Once inside, Faye because very aware of how old the house really was. She watched as the boys dropped their bags in the living room, Sam then headed to the kitchen and Dean turned and headed up the stairs with her bag. She followed quickly after him. He stopped inside of a small room, and placed her bag on the floor.

"You can stay in here. Bobby's room is down the hall and Sam and I will be downstairs." He paused looking at her for a moment for he continued. "If you want breakfast we'll have some ready for you if not, you can just get some rest." With that, Dean left the room and Faye standing alone.

Faye never came down after Dean left her room. He figured that she needed some space to herself, especially after what happened at the motel the night before. Dean sat in silence with Sam and Bobby as they ate. Both Sam and Bobby watched Dean intently. Something was up and they needed to figure it out so that they could deal with it. But it seemed that Dean was going to finish breakfast before he talked about what was going on.

After they were done eating they went into the other room and sat, waiting for Dean to tell them what was going on. Dean entered with a beer in hand. He looked between Bobby and Sam before turning to plop himself down in the chair next to Bobby's desk. For a minute he didn't say a word, just thinking through what had happened. How do you tell other people about something like this? He felt like he was violating Faye's privacy.

"Out with it boy." Bobby felt like he had done enough waiting.

"Well," Dean began, "I think something is going on with Faye."

"Nah duh Dean. I could see that the moment I saw you together yesterday morning." Sam was annoyed and more direct than normal. Dean guessed it was because he was tired and more than a little concerned.

"Yeah, well… something kinda happened that night we had split rooms."

"Oh come on man! Did you really have to sleep with her?!"

Dean slammed his beer down on top of Bobby's desk. "I did NOT sleep with her you asshat!" Anger rolled off of him in waves. "I'm not so stupid as to think that a girl who has just been possessed by a demon who obviously is struggling with something, and who is extremely shy and scared around me is going to want just in the sack with me. I may like sex, but I'm not that much of a prick!"

Dean's extreme anger startled both Sam and Bobby. Something really was going on with Dean and Faye it seemed. Sam apologized to Dean for insinuating and cutting him off. Dean grunted his acceptance before picking up his beer, taking a long drink and continuing.

"As I was saying, something happened that night. I went and showered while she went to bed. When I came out of the bathroom, she was asleep. So, I crawled in my own bed and went to sleep. A few hours later though, I woke up to her crying. And I don't mean a few quiet tears. She was full on shaking and having trouble breathing. So I got out of bed and tried to get her to calm down, but it only made her cry harder. Then she said something about how it was all her fault. I asked her what she meant and all she said was 'They're dead and it is my fault.'" Dean rubbed his brow, feeling a headache coming on. "After that she sobbed for a long time while I tried to calm her. Eventually she calmed down and went back to sleep."

"Well it seems to me that she had a nightmare about what that demon did while it was controlling her." Bobby said.

"That was what I thought too but…" Dean looked uncomfortable.

"But what?" Sam questioned. He hadn't seen Dean look this uncomfortable since he asked him about what happened in hell.

"But I had a dream after that. I saw her standing there with blood on her hands. I saw the fear in her eyes and when I tried to touch or grab her, she would slip away from me or disappear altogether."

There is was. It wasn't just that she had a nightmare, or been upset, but he was upset about what he dreamed of, of how she had reacted. He hadn't dreamed of anything but hell since he got back, so this was something that was important to him. She was something important to him. Sam began to question the dream he had. Could it simply have been because of her words or something else?

Dean downed the last of his beer before speaking again. "I think we need to find out what went on while she was possessed. She is obviously being tormented by something, and I honestly can't leave her in that sort of torture and pain."

Bobby and Sam both nodded in agreement. Although they didn't really know her, they couldn't let her suffer with whatever had happened. Sam knew better than anyone what it was like to be possessed and place blame on themselves for the things that were done during that time. And although Sam and Bobby didn't know, Dean knew what the weight of that type of guilt put on a person. He had to deal with it every second of every day since he got back from hell and he wasn't going to let Faye suffer the way that he was.

After talking for a while, they decided that the best thing that they could do was to try staying put for the moment. Let Faye settle in to the house and become comfortable. Hopefully she would open up about what happened to her while she was possessed and then they could figure out what was going on. It wasn't much of an action plan, but it was all they had at the moment and it would have to do.

A week passed at the Bobby's place with no real change in Faye. Every day seemed to be the same. Faye would get up, get dressed, eat a light breakfast, go for a run, come back and shower, then spend her day reading about supernatural things in the books Bobby told her she could borrow. Both Sam and Bobby had tried talking to her and getting her out of her shell, but she would either give short answers with no detail or not answer at all. It looked like they were getting nowhere. And on top of not getting any information out of her, they all began to notice how little she ate. Outside of her little breakfast in the mornings, she had a snack in the late afternoon and that was it. After a couple of days, they truly began to worry. They knew she wasn't a twig of a girl, but she was by no means heavy.

Dean hadn't mentioned it, but he felt like her not eating and her nightmares seemed to be connected more than she was just stressed. He thought there was a deeper issue there and they needed to get to the root of it. It wasn't until about a 9 days after they arrived that Dean make a slight break through.

Dean was out in the garage working on the Impala when he heard someone's steps walking up behind him. He turned to find Faye leaning against the door, watching him work.

"Hey. What's up?"

"Nothing. I just couldn't read anymore." Faye answered quietly.

Dean nodded at her answer. There was a reason he hated research. His eyes always went crossed after a little while.

"I feel you there. Wanna come help me?" He was hoping that she would join him or talk to him. She nodded and quietly walked over to where he stood leaning over the engine. Dean asked her about her knowledge of cars, but she didn't seem to know much. So he decided that he would teach her.

"Well everyone should know a little something about cars. Can't depend on someone else all the time to do this type of stuff for you."

Dean began to show her how to check the oil and fluid levels, explained how to change the oil, what were the different parts of the engine, how they all worked and so on. He spent the better part of two hours just talking about how cars worked with her. Occasionally she would ask a question about something, but mostly kept quiet, just listening and taking in every word that Dean said. She enjoyed the sound of his deep, slightly rough voice. It was comforting.

As Dean went to grab another beer from the mini fridge, he found that Faye looked like she had finally relaxed a little bit. He didn't want to press her about what happened but he knew they needed to get to the bottom of this and soon. He was debating how to approach the subject when Faye spoke up.

"Thank you for letting me spend time out here with you." This was the loudest he had heard her speak and was surprised.

"You're welcome out here any time." Dean smiled down at her.

"I know you guys are all concerned about me." Dean froze at her statement. Had they been so obvious? "And I appreciate it. Honestly I wish that I could open up to you guys, but I can't."

Dean nodded. He understood how that was. "I get it. You don't fully trust us and I don't blame you."

"No…" she looked down at her feet as she scraped her tennis shoes across the ground. "I mean I can't open up to you. I want to, but… I can't remember anything."

For a full minute there was silence, except for the sound of the wind blowing outside of the garage.

"What do you mean?" Dean stared at her confused. She hadn't looked up from her shoes and Dean needed to see her face. Putting a hand under her chin to lift her face he asked again, "what do you mean?" Hey eyes shined with unshed tears.

"I can't remember anything. The only time I seem to get any memories are when I'm dreaming, and none of those are good." A tear slipped down her face. "I'm so frustrated that I can't seem to control my own mind anymore."

Dean looked at her and finally understood. She wasn't holding back from them, she just simply didn't have anything she could share with them. Dean gently wiped away the tear from her face before pulling her into a tight hug.

"Don't worry, we'll figure this out." He felt her arms wrap around his waste as he kissed the top of her head. There was nothing romantic about the gesture, just simply someone offering comfort to another person. And the funny thing was, it wasn't just comforting to Faye, but to Dean as well.

"I think I know someone who might be able to help you okay?" Pulling back Dean looked down into her purple eyes. She only nodded to him, confirming that she trusted him. He hugged her tight once more before releasing her. "Let's get inside and get some dinner. It's getting late and I have a feeling tomorrow will be a busy day."

Faye nodded and turned towards the house. Dean prayed that this he was right. He prayed that Cas could help.
