"Talking." 'Thoughts.'

XX Hidden Leaf Village, Elemental Nations, EarthRealm.

Naruto and Khameleon walked down the street togeter without a care in the world and calmly towards one of Naruto's favorite food stands in the entire village that saw him for him, they were blissfully unaware of the small group of people who were currently gathered together on top of a nearby building to discuss the events of this day and the the future.

Shao Kahn and his daughter Mileena stood off in a corner watching Naruto and Khameleon but also keeping an eye on the other groups that were present but that they were not on friendly terms with at the moment, Kitana and her mother Queen Sindel which also in a strange way happened to be Mileena's biological mother as well.

Sindel and Kitana had to admit that they were quite impressed with their new relative and felt a strong sense of connection with this young man as well as his mother, Sindel was definitely interested in him as she then spoke, "It is clear to me that he is definitely half Edenian and he has more control than your half sister Kitana, and yet there is so much more to him."

Mileena let out a small laugh as she then turned to her mother and then spoke, "He is the most important thing I have ever done in my life, and for a time I thought he was lost to me forever."

"Fortunately for you he is not, however things are not as they appear Princess Mileena." A new deeper voice said directly behind them catching everyone by surprise as they turned around to face a man with what appeared to be lightning surrounding him.

"Raiden!" Shao Kahn said with a bit of anger in his voice as he then entered a fighting stance preparing for the worst from his longtime rival or what some would call bitter enemy despite their complicated past.

"At ease Emperor of OutWorld I mean no harm, but I can assume that because of what happened at the Pyramid of Armageddon many things have been reset have they not?" The God of Thunder and Lightning asked.

Sindel was the first person of this small group to take command of the situation as she walked forward and spoke, "You look very different than I remember you Raiden, and yet at the same time you do not appear as corrupted is when you dealt with the Dragon King."

Raiden nodded his head to her question, "As you know Taven's armor acted as a balance and reset many things including the corruption from the one being that had taken a hold of many of us... Myself included."

Mileena then came to a realization, "So that's why after the battle everything felt so different, but that still doesn't answer why you're here now?"

"I'm afraid the Elemental Nations have recently become a concern for not only myself but the rest of the Elder Gods as well, someone or something appears to be influencing events here which could threaten not only all of EarthRealm but the rest of the Realms as well." Raiden said noticing the look of concerns upon their faces.

Shao Kahn then stepped forward and stood face to face with his old rival with what could only be described as a show of intimidation, "How can the Elemental Nations threatened the rest of EarthRealm as well as the other realms when it is kept in his own pocket dimension much like your Sky Tower which protects the Jinsei?"

Everyone else was still trying to figure out what was going on as the two titans which was a lack of a better word to describe them right now continued to stare into each other's eyes waiting to see if there would be a battle, Raiden then decided to speak, "I believe you know what would be important enough from our enemies in the NetherRealm as well as the resurrected Dragon King would be so interested in, after all your grandson carries a piece of it."

Mileena now had a clear understanding of what they were talking about but unfortunately her mother and sister were still in the dark about what was really going on, "How Can the Nine Tailed Fox and the other tailed beasts possibly be such a threat when they are contained in the Elemental Nation's?"

Raiden and then realize that many of the people here did not know the full story and decided to elaborate, "Allow me to explain, when Shinnok betrayed his fellow Elder Gods and brought his war upon EarthRealm so many centuries ago it was due to the policy concerning the one being in the realms themselves... The one being was able to construct a new body using nine powerful spirits they were meant to guide EarthRealm and its people, unfortunately the one being then fused them together to create a temporary body that it could control which became known as the Ten Tailed monster."

Sindel and Kitana were surprised to see the least, "How powerful was it?"

"A enough of a threat for the Elder Gods take immediate action and create a second pocket dimension to containing Elemental Nations as well as the 10 tales, as Mileena knows most of the people here can control the elements on a level that rivals even the Lin Kuei's mastery of ice and yet they are not limited to one element." Raiden said noticing the look of shock upon many of their faces except the Emperor who already knew this.

Kitana was even more impressed with EarthRealm and also this place and yet still found it hard to believe that this had led to the fall of an Elder God, "How does Shinnok's fall factor into this Lord Raiden?"

"Because he believed it was only right to restore the one being to his former glory and was willing to go to any extremes to do it even if it meant the destruction of all the realms in the process, what the Emperor here was seeking was merely to create one massive realm in the end however he had no intention of destroying them in the process." Raiden said.

Kitana understood what he was saying however she was still curious about how this creature was defeated, "But I hear there is now nine separate beings, how did that come about?"

"Because of a man known as the Sage of the Six Paths, he was able to finally stop the Ten Tales by sealing the nine spirits in his body which prevented the one being from ever taking control of it again however the body itself if reunited with and nine spirits could spell disaster to all of the realms because of what the one being did." The thunder God said.

Shao Kahn was truly surprised with how serious the situation was but he had a feeling it was not over, "The way you speak of this is if it is not over for some reason?"

"That is because it is not, someone or something appears to be manipulating events here with the nine spirits involved and if they succeed I fear we may all pay a price in the end... As much as it pains me to say that young boy may be our only hope."

XX (Outside of the Village.)

At the same time two individuals wearing long black coats with red clouds upon them were currently walking towards the village is what appear to be sinister motives, both of their faces were concealed by a large hat that resembles Raiden's in appearance except for the ornaments that adorned them.

The larger of the two could only wonder what was going through his partner's mind at this moment and then spoke, "You seem troubled, wondering what your home looks like now?"

"Not quite there are many things I regret leaving the way they were when I left, however we hear on a job but we must be cautious as I believe someone has come that will reset everything."

The larger of the two then gave a smile that showed Sharp teeth that looked like it belonged to a shark and spoke once more, "I've heard some of the rumors myself, it seems like nonsense that someone from another realm which I don't believe in by the way would even want to come here just seems preposterous."

"Do not be so certain of that, either way we will proceed with caution as this village even with this recent battle is no pushover." His larger partner nodded his head knowing that caution could sometimes save your life and they would be in enemy territory, the only problem was did not know what kind of the enemy awaited them.

Naruto and Khameleon one now walking down the street talking with each other wondering what was to become of their future knowing that so many things had changed, at the moment ninjas talked alongside other warriors from Outworld including Shokan and Tarkatan more busy at this moment gathering building materials for some kind of project.

A young female Shokan warrior named Ra who had befriended Naruto during his time in Outworld as part of his training then put down a set of materials used going to carry and walked up to him and Khameleon, "It is good to see you Prince Naruto, and you as well Khameleon."

Naruto was honestly surprised to see her there as well as so many warriors and workers from Outworld, "It's good to see you too Ra and you don't have to call me Prince all the time you know, what's going on?"

She could not help but let out a laugh, "The Emperor has ordered a constant to be constricted here at once, there will also be a large number of soldiers coming to help defend this village and nation as part of the treaty and to provide a little extra protection for you for some reason."

Khameleon could not help but laugh at hearing this, "I never would've thought of Mileena to be the overprotective mother if you get my point."

"My mother has something worth protecting and that makes her even more dangerous and stronger if you get my meaning, and yet I can't help but feel that we are about to be far busier than normal." almost as if he had predicted it a set of ANBU appeared before him and Khameleon and gave a slight bow showing some respect that also having a demeanor that this was not a social call.

"Genin Naruto Uzumaki and companion the Lord Third and Master Jiraiya have requested your presence immediately after the Hokage Tower as soon as possible."

Both of them then look at each other and then nodded their heads as Khameleon then grabbed a hold of him as they disappeared from sight in a show of fire and ice, the ANBU were quite surprised but realized that he had gotten the message.

XX (Hokage Tower.)

Naruto and Khameleon then appeared in a dazzling display of fire and ice as they then stood at attention in front of the Third Hokage in the village spymaster who was currently busy writing in a journal, Khameleon could not help but let out a audible growl at the self-proclaimed super pervert which made him stop.

The Third could only lead out a laugh at his perverted student, he then turned to the two young people before him and spoke, "Naruto thank you for coming at such short notice but I'm afraid the situation has changed considerably thanks to the recent invasion."

This caught both of them by surprise as they then realized something serious that happened, Khameleon was the first to speak as she was quite curious about what was going on, "What has happened Lord Third that has you in such a state?"

The old man could not help but laugh at her statement but then became quite serious, "As you both know if it had not been for the Emperor and his two generals there is a distinct possibility I would not be here at this moment among the living, as much as it pains me to say this I must step down as Hokage... But I am afraid there are very few candidates."

Jiraiya but then became very serious as he spoke, "Besides myself there is only one other candidate who could take the position at this time and no matter what we have to retrieve her as soon as possible."

Khameleon was curious why the old pervert could be the new village leader, "What do you mean that you are not a suitable candidate and who is this other candidate you speak of?"

"The main reason I am not a suitable candidate is because of my spy network and it would take far too long for me to train a replacement, the other candidate is in fact one of my teammates and a master in the medical field's... That may be one of the other reasons that Orochimaru may seek her out."

"Way to go us women, but mentioning that snake means that we are in a race against time are we not... You old pervert." Khameleon said.

The old pervert could not help but say under his breath something about no respect, "That's right and I want you to to come with me, the Hokage here will continue to keep things together and let your family know what's going on as we might even get some back up later on... So how how much time do you two need to get ready to leave?"

Much to his surprise each of them pulled out a heavily sealed scroll which indicated they had been ready for any kind of trouble or mission at a moments notice, the Third then spoke, "Be careful out there you to things are changing and not for the better."

I like to apologize for taking so long to get this chapter out, but I have to be honest that this went through a lot of rewrites and the new game definitely introduced some more unique story ideas.

Because this is not my primary focus at this time I don't know when the next update will happen but I do intend to start working on as soon as I can but I also have to admit the new game has given me a new idea for another story featuring MKX characters and events.
