A/N: Thanks for the reviews: Golden Scroll, GuardianOfMusic27855, Jen. They mean a lot to me! 3
Hopefully the next chapters will be longer than this. Just trying to get through the boring exposition so things make sense in later chapters. :D
Chapter Warnings: Rated T. Nothing too bad, just Dean being a potty-mouth again.

CHAPTER 2: Creepy and Creepier
Near Salem, Oregon.
The drive through the Cascade Mountain Range only took a few hours, but it felt like forever. Sam was used to long car rides due to the nature of their occupation, but this time he was on edge. The nightmare he had last night just wouldn't stop replying in his mind and he was anxious to find out if it would manifest itself out like other nightmares he's had before. Sam shivered at the thought and caught the attention of Dean.
"Hey, you doing okay? You look a little pale. If you're gonna hurl I can pull over, cuse I don't want you barfing in my car." He teased, but Sam could tell he was concerned.
"I'm fine." Sam said, not wanting to get any unnecessary attention from Dean.
Unconvinced, Dean raised his eyebrow, but didn't press any further. "We're almost there; we got like 10 miles left to go before we get to Salem. I can't wait, man, I'm starving!" Dean said and clicked the music dial on, letting the car be filled with classic rock.
Rolling down the window of the Impala, Sam sighed and let the cool breeze blow through his hair. They were driving through a thick forest with large evergreen pine trees everywhere. The occasional deciduous trees that were seen had turned golden from autumn, with dead leaves littering the road.
It was chilly with grey clouds covering the sky, threatening to rain. An ominous fog hung in the air that almost felt suffocating, but they continued on.
The fog did not lift even after they drove out of the mountains and through the city limits. It made Sam a bit uncomfortable.
"Is this place friggen Silent Hill or what?" Dean joked.
"What?" Sam asked, glancing at Dean and giving him a confused look.
"You know, Silent Hill! The video game? And everything is foggy because of the ash? … You know what, never mind."
Sam cracked a grin for a second and snickered. "Nerd."
"Bitch."
"Jerk."
They drove up to a decently sized hotel and pulled into a parking stall. The building seemed a little aged, but still could be considered modern. There weren't many cars in the parking lot, and in fact, there weren't many people outside walking about the streets either.
"Not a skeevy motel?" Sam asked while stepping out of the Impala.
"Naw, I thought we deserved to stay in a real Hotel this time. Complimentary breakfast, man!" Dean chuckled and slammed the driver's side door of the Impala shut.
After collecting their things from the trunk, the Winchester brothers made their way into the hotel lobby to check into their room. The front desk was left unattended, and Dean cleared his throat out of irritation while they both stood and waited. Sam looked around the lobby, noticing that they were the only people there.
Getting frustrated, Dean rang the service bell, and instantly a man appeared from around the corner to greet them. He was a handsome well-built man with very dark medium length hair and unnaturally pale clean-shaven skin. He seemed a bit taken aback when he looked at the two men before him, but quickly regained his composure. Sam and Dean noted the action and narrowed their eyes slightly, giving each other glancing looks.
"How may I help you fine gentlemen today?" He asked, his voice was smooth and Sam noticed the man kept glancing towards him.
"Just a room, and make sure it's two queen beds." Dean answered, slapping a stolen credit card down on the polished granite counter.
"Of course." The man said and swiped the card before returning it to Dean along with two key cards for their room. "Enjoy your stay." He said giving them both a subtle but unnerving smile although keeping his eyes locked on Sam.
"Well that wasn't creepy at all." Dean whispered to Sam after they were out of ears reach from the desk attendant.
"No kidding." Sam agreed, quickening his pace a little.
Making their way to the room, Sam took in the surroundings. The lights were yellowed and the carpet was an elegant red. The walls were a dark oak which made the halls seem darker than they really were. Strange paintings hung from the walls and the portraits eyes seemed to follow the brother's movements. Everything seemed clean and well managed, but Sam noticed there wasn't a person in sight.
Once in their room, they threw their duffle bags on their respective beds and began to change into their black FBI suits.
"This place is like a five star-hotel, but it's really low priced." Dean addressed. "I wonder if it had anything to do with chuckles at the front desk."
"Dunno. But we should probably head down to the police station to get some info on this case before more weird shit happens." Sam said while slipping his shoes back on, anxious to get going.
"Not even time for a burger?" Dean whined. Sam only gave him an unamused look. "Yeah yeah, let's get moving then."
They both made their way back down to the lobby and left through the front glass doors, but neither of them noticed that the man at the front desk had watched them both leave. He stood from his chair and made his way into a back room where he flipped open his cell phone and dialed a number.
"-What is it?-" A male voice on the other line answered. It sounded calm but chilling.
"Sir, the Winchesters have arrived."
"-Ah, excellent. Contact Adrian. Tell him to observe the youngest brother and to let me know if he is worthy of being a part of my… collection.-"
"Yes, sir."

By the time Sam and Dean got to the police station for information, another victim had been claimed. Flashing their FBI badges when they walk through the doors, they make their way to the police chief. He was a little overweight and was balding from age. He had been overlooking some paperwork when the brothers stood before him, flashing the FBI badges once more.
"I'm agent Stark and this is my partner agent Banner. We're here about the recent murder cases." Dean said with his best FBI voice he could muster up.
"They got the FBI on this case now?" The police chief said, sounding tired and unamused although he wore a slight smirk on his lips. Sam and Dean didn't budge, not returning his smirk. The chief then shook his head before collecting some paperwork into a folder and handing it to Sam, who began to scan through it while Dean looked over his shoulder.
"So all the vics had bite marks on their necks and their bodies drained of blood?" Sam started, looking at less than pleasant crime scene photos.
"More like their throats were ripped out. And only three of them." The chief interrupted.
"There's other vics?" Dean chimed in.
"Oh yeah. See here?" The chief flipped the pages of the paperwork to a specific victim, where he pointed on the paper. "This poor sap was missing his heart, like something ripped it right out."
Sam and Dean eyed each other wearily.
"We also got a few missing folks." The chief continued, grabbing a new folder off his desk and handing it to Dean. "Sybil Yamane, went missing a few days before the attacks along with Tony Byron and Abby Da Silva. They all went missing around the same time as a matter of fact."
"Do you think they have anything to do with the murders?" Sam asked.
"Dunno. The detectives are saying the murders were caused by animal attacks, but..." The man trailed off, seeming uncertain.
"What do you think it is?" Sam prompted.
"Well, strange things always happen 'round this time of the year. People going missing or killed in freaky ways. Who knows?" He said, lowering his voice slightly. Sam and Dean gave each other enough another look.
"Are there any witnesses that you know of?"
"None for the murders, but the missing girl, Sybil, has a crazy husband. Say's vampires came and kidnapped her or something. I can give you his info if you want, but I doubt he'll be of any help." The man said, handing Dean a card with the info written on it.
"I think that's about all we need, thanks for your time." Dean said and nodded to the man before turning to leave.

"So what now, Werewolves too? Son of a bitch. " Dean grumbled loudly while driving the Impala. They were driving through a seemingly quiet neighborhood that was on the outskirts of the city. Pine trees were everywhere, covering some houses from view. "When is more than one crazy thing in a town at once? This just got a whole lot messier."
"Well we still don't know what happened with the missing vics. He said that Sybil's husband said she was kidnapped by vampires. Maybe the other missing people got snatched too?" Sam said.
"I dunno. Why would vampires take hostages? I didn't think they were nice enough for that."
Pulling up into the driveway of the correct house and putting the Impala into park, the brothers stepped out of the vehicle. The house was not too terribly far from other houses, but there was quite a bit of land surrounding it. Sagging pine tree branches hung over the roof of the house and over the driveway, and Dean couldn't help but give them a fearful glance, hoping that no pinecones would fall on his precious baby.
Walking up the stone steps to the front door, Dean firmly knocked on the front door. At first there was no answer and Sam was considering picking the lock, but then finally a man opened the door. He was about as tall as Sam with a tan complexion. Short blonde messy hair topped his head with blue eyes. He almost looked like a surfer guy except older and wore classy clothes instead of baggy shorts.
The man instantly had a mixed expression on his face as he took a small step back. He looked like a cross between extremely relieved and extremely terrified at the same time.
"Hello, I'm agent stark and this is my partner agent Banner—"
"No you're not, you're the Winchesters!" He gasped out with wide eyes.
"I'm sorry, have we met?" Dean eyed him suspiciously.
"No, but please, I need your help."
