When Lanalee Prince looked back on her life she would curse the unknown mages who caused most of the things in her life to go completely out of control by not knowing when to stop even when ordered. That and the witches. Mainly the mages though.
It all started when a bunch of mages got together under a noble man and they all decided to research immortality. Just researching would be bad enough but as the noble's son was terminally ill they decided to experiment based on their findings. The noble gave them one order; all the people had to volunteer; but as time passed few of the volunteers stayed. Those that did died quickly. Then it happened. A single mage kidnapped a young nameless orphan off the street and performed the ritual on him.
Amazingly he survived the ritual and all the tests after. The mages came to one conclusion, the trial rituals had to be unwilling, and began to abduct children and teens off the street. Then Lanalee got lost. She was abducted along with the first group following the success, but there was a problem with the ritual. the nammeless orphan -now called Dol- had hit a growth spurt shortly after the ritual. He looked to be an adult though his mind was still a child. This though she did not know it would have a great impact upon her.
