Shadow-prologue
Bruce slowly opened his eyes his vision blurred in response. He winced, groaning he gingerly raised himself off the floor but collapsed as a sharp pain ripped in his abdomen. His hand reached to clutch at the injury holding back a yelp as he felt the warmth of blood that wet his palm. Gritting his teeth he dared to turn his head to look at the destruction around him, he blinked as his vision cleared. His hearing was muffled as a result from the blast, his eyes fell on the prone form of his dear butler.
"…Al-Alfred." he gasped out dragging himself toward the man but he let out a surprised yell as he was yanked up by the collar of his shirt and was slammed into the already brittle wall.
Bruce was lifted a few feet off the ground gasping he clamped both hands tightly on the large forearm that held him in place the grip around his neck caused his pulse to thump loudly in his ears.
"It is truly an honour to meet you. A rather rude entry of sorts but I do not have time for formalities."
The billionaire blinked involuntarily as dust and blood invaded his sight. Through the filthy haze he made out the glowing red eyes set harshly in stone scaled skin. The fire that roared in the corner ignited as the flames licked the torn drapes. The guests that did survive were far from the chaos; Bruce let out a strangled gasp as his legs kicked in the air as he feebly fought against this new foe.
"Where is the kryptonian?" the beast demanded
Bruce answer was a harsh glare his silence was not welcoming as he was slammed through the wall then pulled back inside the fiery room. He was held high in the air, his once well kept hair was tussled around his head a few strands fell just above his right eye. His tux was torn at the back his bow tie lost amongst the debris leaving his once white shirt open to the chest.
"Do not mistake me for a fool. I know who you are dark knight of Gotham."
"Then…you know… that I do not submit…easily." Bruce shot back his tone, though strained, still had ill intent.
The aggressor titled his head at the remark. "Foolish human. I can snap you like a twig here and now."
"Then do it." Bruce challenged
The beast eyes grew bright the heat resonating from them was one worse then the fire he was trapped in; the young man met the other's gaze defiantly.
But the threat eased away. "No…I will show you mercy."
Bruce let out a pained yell as a fist landed hard in his side before he was discarded harshly to the other side of the room. As the vigilante flew through the air he felt himself suddenly embraced in a strong yet gentle grip, his landing having a less harsher result then he expected.

Superman whipped his head up in time to see his arch enemy open a portal a malicious grin on his face.
"Your days are numbered Kal'l."
Clark glared back at the creature as it stepped through the portal and vanished. His attention went back to the injured man in his arms who lay unconscious in his arms.
"Bruce."
