MEET THE A-LIST
Massie Block: The best ballerina in the entire studio. Recently appointed co-captain of A-List. Princess of Westchester. She's prim, precise, and perfect. Back in Intermediate, she spent a year in England, training in an elite studio overseas, and returned with even better technique. Her dad's an influential businessman, her mother a socialite with investments and connections, and Massie was raised on wealth, power, and persuasion. Cutthroat and merciless, she's prepared to show who the real leader of A-List is.

Alicia Rivera: Absolutely stunning in appearance and skill, this contemporary dancer earned her place on A-List, and Massie's best friend. She dabbles in jazz and salsa, and her signature move is a body roll/hair flip combination that leaves people breathless. Keeping a secret? She's never heard of it. Sweet as the devil, prettier than an angel, and one of the best in the studio, she thinks she's got it all, especially when she becomes closer with Josh Hotz. That is, until her ex-friend Olivia Ryan goes off to BADS and takes Alicia's routine with her.

Kristen Gregory: She's a triple threat - acro dancer, soccer player, star student. Her dad owns WDS, and her mom, a former prima ballerina for the NYBC, is now a talent scout for them. It's no pressure on Kristen, obviously, who has the brains, brawn, and blonde beauty to succeed. She's a quick-witted genius, with a sharp tongue to rival Massie's, and a busier schedule than Taylor Swift on tour. However, after an intense year of juggling soccer, dance, and advanced courses, can she do it again?

Dylan Marvil: People may recognize her because 1. her mom is the host of the Daily Grind; 2. she was the most loved sister on her family's, now cancelled, reality show; or 3. she's one of the best dancers at WDS. She's a hip hop dancer with a side-splitting, time-of-your-life personality, she's popular, passionate, and talented. However, she's constantly comparing herself to her friends in terms of appearance. She's most self-conscious about her thicker body and her wild red curls, but can Chris Plovert help her love herself?

Claire Lyons: Born in Orlando, Florida, she fought her way to the top in Westchester, NY. Once, only a simple jazz dancer, she's transformed into a skilled dancer with many different types of dance under her belt. Back in Orlando, dance was fun, something to do on the side. Here in Westchester, she's found something beautiful in dance and thrown her all into it. The life she's living is fantastic: great friends, training, studio. What doesn't she have? Her ex-boyfriend Cam Fisher, and a clear reason why they broke up after two years of dating.

Derek Harrington: He was hyped when he became captain of his soccer team, but considerably less hyped when he was named dance co-captain with Massie Block. He knows he's talented, handsome, and popular, that he's got what it takes to lead a team. He's a skilled breakdancer and hip hop dancer, with better endurance than half the studio. Chill, confident, and witty, he's the reigning king of WDS and AWC. But with his lively temper and competitive streak, can he keep a cool, level head when faced with his co-captain's snark?

Cameron Fisher: Best known as "Cam," he's Derrick's best friend and right hand man. He's a hip hop dancer who likes doing some jazz, and also one of the best midfielders AWC has ever seen. He's a sweetheart, all smiles, soft laughter, a strong sweet tooth. Looks like a hipster half the time, with his beanies and worn-in leather jacket. He's genuine, and charismatic enough to charm everyone in sight of his mismatched eyes and wide smile. He's at WDS for a good time, not the drama, but there's only so much time you can spent in the spotlight before your secrets become exposed.

Joshua Hotz: Josh Hotz, a ladies man, the only male contemporary dancer in A-List, and, of course, an incredible soccer player. He cuts an impressive figure with his lean muscles, high cheekbones, and red mouth. Relatively new to Westchester, having arrived shortly after Claire, he fits in well with the best athletes at the AWC and WDS. He's got more charm than half the county combined, could talk his way into and out of the best parties and clubs. He likes pulling pranks, having a good time, telenovelas, salsa dancing, long walks on the beach, and Alicia Rivera.

Kemp Hurley: The sleaze of Westchester, he's got a new girl on his arm every week. However, he's also a fantastic breakdancer and soccer player, incredibly wealthy, and insanely attractive, so he fits right in with the elite A-List of WDS and AWC. He's an asshole, there's no doubt about that, but he's got a heart bigger than his dad's massive estate. He knows how to play a good game, how to walk the walk and talk the talk, and he knows how to charm just about anyone when he tries hard enough. When he starts pursuing a certain girl, does he know when to give up?

Christopher Plovert: Everyone knows that Chris is unique, flawless, and utterly brilliant. Massie's best guy friend since the tender age of 3 months, they're similar in the way they're both perfectionists, ballet dancers, and former figure skaters. Chris is also in the debate club with Kristen, the soccer team with the boys, and handling an insane amount of AP work. He's calm, cool, and collected. He stays out of drama, is a rock when others need him to be, but he's got to deal with his own mess of feelings towards Dylan Marvil.

author's note: so this is a rewrite of "we'll be lacing the same shoes (forevermore)". i love that fic to death, but it's been a year and a half since i've touched it. i had no idea where i was going with it, and i disliked my writing style. it wasn't where i wanted it to be. so, i started again.
please note that westchester is still old-money. kristen and claire are going to be new money. everyone attends the academy of westchester county. the rival studio to the westchester dance studio is bads (body alive studio). they are all in their junor year. there are two others on a-list: allie-rose singer and landon crane. both are minor characters.
