Hello, everyone. It's me. I've know it's been a long time to update this story but a lot of thing have happened in my life plus also writer's block and the news of a new Code Geass season coming with the movie trilogy finish. While I have not seen the last to movies of Code Geass, I have read spoilers from those who have seen it and I'll tell you it does not effect this story in anyway. While I'll be waiting the release of Code Geass season 3, I will be continuing the trilogy of this story.
Again, I apologize for the looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnggggggg delay of those who have been a fan favorite of this story. And so on with the story.
I don't own Code Geass. It is the property of Sunrise.
"I must do what I must." stated Kallen as she was preparing to do battle with it.
As Kallen was preparing to do battle with a powerful Knightmare, she thought back to the moment that she and Lelouch had this morning before going into battle...
"Kallen, I'm ever so sorry. No matter how many times I have betray your trust, you always came back to me. Why?"
"Because I chose to," answered Kallen. "You never told me what I meant to you, but your decision was an answer. If you wanted me in a safe place, then I'm not just a pawn to you. My most important duty was to protect you and I want to keep protecting you. I care about your sister too and want to help save her. Lelouch, let's save our tears until after this battle."
Lelouch looked at Kallen with sincerity. "Kallen, another time you've set me back on the right path. You were always my best knight. Thank you."
"Lelouch, you idiot. You know I'd follow you everywhere." said Kallen with tears in her eyes.
They kissed like lovers kissing for the very last time before being apart.
"Come back to me safe." said Lelouch.
"Always."
'I'll come back to you, Lelouch. That's a promise.' thought Kallen as she was face to face with the Merlin.
"He was a hypothetical power equivalent to about 20 times my Gurren. Its barrier is the same used by the Damocles, less resilient, but always operative. Aside from opening holes to shoot through, only the Gurren Hadron Cannon can destroy this barrier, so it has to always stay near the fortress shield."
"I see. The only option is a mass attack from all the directions. We must create as much chaos as possible to cover the Siegfried." said Lelouch. "Jeremiah, take advantage of the confusion to penetrate the fortress' defense. My sister's freedom depends on us."
"Yes, your Majesty." Jeremiah accepted.
The guards charged forward toward the Merlin and the Damocles. Jeremiah charged at the Merlin, hitting it with every move.
"OUT OF THE WAY!" yelled Jeremiah.
The Siegfried bombarded the Merlin as hard as it can while the Merlin use a defense shield from it getting any further damage.
"Schneizel, I couldn't have known there was another KMF inside the Siegfried. Jeremiah is inside the fortress," said Kanon.
"Jeremiah Gottwald isn't hard to block off. We'll take care of him." said Schneziel.
"Watch your back, instead."
Kallen was in front of the Merlin, ready to do battle with it. "After all those hits, if I hit you with my highest radiation, I'll destroy your barrier."
The Merlin used a shield as Kallen's Gurren's Hadron Cannon fired at it "Fuck!"
"Kallen, be careful!" cried Lelouch, worried for Kallen's safety. "That isn't an enemy to fight alone. Stay in formation."
"THAT'S ENOUGH!'' yelled Kanon. "You're fighting a useless battle you cannot win! You're going to the slaughter for a misguided ideal. Do you believe Lelouch or Zero will fix everything? You're delusional. You're enslaved by useless ideals."
The Merlin appeared before the Shinkiro, preparing to fire. "I don't want to kill in vain. To kill you will be sufficient and the others will surrender, isn't that right?! Lelouch, you must die!"
'STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" yelled Kallen as she put her Guren in front of Lelouch's Shinkiro.
"Kallen, go away! You can't fight him!" yelled Lelouch.
"I'm your shield. I've made my choices. I'll keep him busy, Lelouch. You must rescue Nunnally." said Kallen
"Kallen Kozuki, it's an honor to fight a woman so brave. Your devotion is equal to mine. it's a pity you serve the wrong person. You can't defeat my knightmare." said Kanon. " Tsk! The Merlin is slow and incomplete, but he was designed this way to destroy the Guren and the Shinkiro. Your defeat is clear."
"Are you sure? Don't you know how dangerous I can be." stated Kallen. "So, shut up and fight."
"As you wish." Kanon said as he unleashed a bunch of Hadron Canon at Kallen.
Kallen was able to dodge the cannons as she sped through around the Merlin like lightning.
"Very impressive. Last time her majesty could use the Stein at only 60% power. " said Lloyd as he looked at Kallen's Guren data. "Now she's at 90%! She's a good deviser like Suzaku or is it just her determination?"
"Yes, but..." said Cecile. "Her Majesty will be destroyed."
Kallen was breathing heavily with her fight with the Merlin. "It's useless. I tried to push him near the Damocles, but he understood my plan. I must find a way."
"I don't like doing it, but I'm losing too much time.'' said Kanon. "That's all? I told you before your efforts are useless. However, I'll give you a gift. I won't kill you now. I'll just tear up your KMF apart and I'll hang the fuselage on the Merlin, so you will be the spectator when I kill Lelouch."
Kallen growled at Kanon's word about killing Lelouch. She was going to take this bastard down once and for all.
"I don't want to fight a woman, but his highness gave the order and his dream can't be possible with people like you in the world..." said Kanon. "You must die like all the Black Knight leaders."
"I see. You and Schneziel were just using the Black Knights as pawn, making Lelouch as the true abomination to them when it was the both of you. You will not kill anyone. Not even my friends." stated Kallen as she and Kanon blast their most powerful weapon at each other.
The Guren's arm was starting to come apart against the Merlin's Hadron Cannon.
''Lelouch.'' Kallen said as she pushed on.
The battle continued on as the Guren and Merlin become heated.
"You're right, I underestimate you, but it's ended." said Kanon as he grabbed the Guren and threw it.
"Ka...KALLEN!" cried Lelouch.
"I'm…. I'm all right." Kallen reassuring Lelouch.
The situation deteriorates. The Damocles isn't defenseless and opens fire. A combined fleet of hundreds of units is decimated by a single enemy. Suzaku's Albion becomes the only unit able to ward off the Merlin's continuing onslaught.
"Lelouch, go on ahead. I'll take care of the Merlin." said Suzaku.
Lelouch reluctantly left to go with Kallen behind.
Suzaku looked back at the Merlin. "If the Merlin's barrier is really the same as the Damocles', then there's only one way."
With its defense down, Suzaku charged at the Merlin and attacked. With the Lancelot sword, Suzaku and Kanon attack each other fiercely. With Suzaku's "live" geass taking effect, Suzaku was able to cut through the Merlin in half.
"Schneziel...I'm sorry." said Kanon as the Merlin exploded.
"Suzaku, we must enter into the fortress and put an end to this." said Lelouch.
"I have some unfinished business with my brother. " Lelouch said as he looked up at the Damocles.
"Prince Schneziel, Lelouch has entered the fortress." said a soldier.
"Well, Lelouch, it seems like you've chosen the wrong time to understand the preciousness of human life. You're in my power now." said Schneziel. "How long until the luminous is repaired?"
"Six minutes."
"Good. When repairs are complete, cease-fire. Activate the self-destruct sequence and abandon the Damocles. Lelouch will have his sister and this fortress...until it becomes their royal tomb."
Lelouch, Kallen and Suzaku entered the Damocles. " Suzaku, remember we have a common enemy. With the world together, Schneizel will be defeated, the war will end."
"Yes."
"Lelouch, what about Nunnally?" asked Kallen.
"That's where you two come in," replied Lelouch. "All three of us can't comfort Schneizel together. Besides, this is something that is very common within the royal family and I don't want you to get involved in something this dangerous."
"Lelouch…"
"Now go. Try to stop my sister from firing out more F.L.E.I.J.A. She doesn't know what she is doing." Said Lelouch as he ran to comfort his elder brother.
Nunnally vi Britannia was waiting for her next command from her brother onto when to fire the missile. She hates it. So much lives begin lost. And for what?
World peace.
She never wanted this. Any of this. All she ever wanted was to be with her brother and her friends and that was it. She didn't want all this bloodshed. Not in her name. It was sickening to her, but she guess that what it means to be royalty. It was always what her father would say. It was the ultimate motto of Britannia.
The strong will overcome the weak. It was a disgusting motto but that's what her family always followed by.
"Maybe that's why I was abandoned by my family. Even though I was reinstated back into the imperial family, I was still probably look at as a weakling to everyone…even to Brother."
Footsteps echoed the room where Nunnally was at. The footstep was different to her. Theirs was not Schneziel's nor Lelouch's but she did recognize one of them.
"So, you came to take away the Damocles' keys, aren't you…Suzaku."
The footsteps came to a stop. "Yes, it's me…Nunnally." Replied Suzaku with a frown on his face.
Kallen ran down the hall as fast as she can. She had to get to Lelouch.
"There is no way I'm letting you do this on your own, Lelouch. It's my job to protect you."
"Where are you going?" asked Suzaku.
"I have to go to him."
Suzaku grab hold of Kallen. "You can't do that, Kallen. Lelouch told us to go and get Nunnally."
"I know that. But I refuse to let him face this alone. I told him I will follow him til the end. And I'm planning to see it through."
Suzaku look deeply into Kallen's eyes. They were of fiery determination, something that won't let you change her mind.
Suzaku let go of her. "Very well, then. Make sure he's safe."
Kallen nodded and then ran off.
Kallen have to be by his side. She knows it sounds idiotic but that was her decision, and nothing was going to stop her.
"Kallen."
Kallen turned to see where the voice came from. There she saw her answer.
"Ohgi!"
Lelouch ran to where he knows where Schneziel might be at. He figured that Schenziel will try to escape before Lelouch could reach him. Lelouch knows that this is the pinnacle moment of the battle. If he stops Schneziel and put an end to Damocles and FLEJIA, then the war is won but fail and god knows what's going to happened if the battle falls into Schneziel's favor.
Lelouch made it to his destination but stop for a moment before entering. He realized that while he was coming up here, that there was no resistance from Schneziel's men.
"Did they know I'm here or did Schneziel send them away?" Lelouch questioned himself. "Doubt it. Schneziel is many things but he's not foolish, let alone let his guard down."
As Lelouch entered, the room was silent. He walks in slowly pace, gun draw. "All right, Schneziel. Where are you?"
A gun went off.
"Uh...Aaah...!" Lelouch groan as he kneels on the floor, grabbing his arm where a bullet hit its mark.
"Oh Lelouch...how low have you sunk, dear brother?" said Schneziel with his gun in his hand.
Lelouch raised his head and looked at the man he once called brother.
"You never defeated me until now. Making half-baked strategies and attacking me alone like a witless fool! I'm disappointed in you, Lelouch...very disappointed." said Schneziel like he was scolding a child.
"How dare you?" growled Lelouch. "If I'm no saint, then how dare you see this battle as just another chess match. Do you think that using this fortress to create peace through terror was the only way?! I used my geass to save lives, to give people courage to do the right thing even when they didn't know it themselves...and you want to proclaim your superiority from this station over everyone else like the filthy noble you are! I'm fighting to build the future and you want the present to stay forever."
"If that's what you honestly believe, then I can't believe we came from the same father, let alone have the same blood." Schneziel claimed.
"I've seen it with my own eyes. People rising up to struggle against an unjust system, dreaming of a better future. Even if I fail, the people will see your tyranny fall." stated Lelouch.
"Very ironic to hear those words from someone like you. You've who abandoned your allies, killed, intimidated, geassed and now you find it within yourself to be squeamish? Those people who died to destroy my FLEIJA launcher, were they dear to you? How weak and underserving have you become to let petty feelings cloud your mind?" Schneziel mocked.
"Then? What do you mean?" questioned Lelouch.
"You've grown soft, Lelouch. Power belongs to those who can wield it and you've lost your grip-else how would I be able to persuade your Black Knights to desert you so easily? But our little feud must end here, for the Damocles is set to explode in 15 minutes and you with it. I believe Nunnally is still in her room, so I guess I'll be killing three birds with one stone." said Schneziel.
"So, my sister is now useless and now you're just going to kill her." yelled Lelouch.
"Irrelevant. Did you think I couldn't pilot it myself? Now, after what I've shown the world what the FLEIJA and the Merlin are capable of, I'll have plenty of new "allies" begging to help me in order to keep peace. The world is mine and you can no longer stop me. Fare thee well, brother."
Schneziel fired his gun at Lelouch, but Lelouch was able to dodge it.
"You're not going to win, Schneziel. Just give up."
Schneziel smirked. "I really don't know what you're talking about. Why don't you sit back and wait for a little bit? I have a lot to do."
Lelouch seized the opportunity. He took a running leap and pounced on Schneziel; both of them came down hard on the floor. Lelouch pinned Schneziel's forearms down with his own, to prevent them from moving, and lifted his knee and pushed it into Schneziel's chest.
"Get off of me!"
"And let you destroy everything? I don't think so!" said Leouch. "You want to rule the world without substance. You're not going to win, Schneziel, so just give up."
"I wonder, how many people had to die for you to get this far, Lelouch."
"Shut up."
"People who lost family and friends. All because you wanted vengeance."
"I told you to shut your mouth."
"Clovis and…even poor sweet Euphie."
Lelouch relaxed his arms, grief rising in his throat and clouding his mind. Schneziel braced his arms against the floor and kicked Lelouch in the stomach with his foot. Lelouch cried out with pain and clutched his stomach, trying to gasp for air; Schneziel then jumped on Lelouch and drove him into the ground.
Quick as lightning he whipped out a knife, slashing Lelouch from stomach to chest and attempted to bury it deep within Lelouch's chest, but Lelouch dove out of the way and pushed himself off of the platform floor. The only sounds in the room were the sounds of heavy breathing and the battle going on outside. Schneziel triumphant, put his heel on Lelouch's stomach wound and pressed down heavily.
"Your time is up, Lelouch."
"Not before you, brother."
Lelouch headbutted Schneziel, making him get off of Lelouch, who then got up on his feet. They dove towards each other simultaneously, Schneziel and Lelouch both pulled out their sword. Schneziel, attempting to cut Lelouch's throat but miss as Lelouch duck from the blade. The clashing of swords echoed throughout the room, coming at each other, blow after blow. Both side drawing blood. Lelouch was slashed across the face by Schneziel and was kneed in the stomach before being punched real hard across the face, stunning him.
Schneziel grabbed Lelouch by the hair, slamming his face down on to the floor, again and again. Lelouch tried in vain to stand up; Schneziel beat him to it and began to launch a series of vicious punches and kicks. Lelouch began a desperate defense maneuver, however, he was tiring rapidly from the loss of blood, and as he clumsily blocked a punch he slipped forwards and caught a heavy kick on the side of the head. He fell heavily onto the floor.
Schneziel, triumphant, put his heel on Lelouch's stomach wound and pressed down heavily. "You're down on the ground, where you belong. I knew you didn't have the strength to put me down, because you knew that I'd win in the end like always."
Lelouch turned his head to the side and spat out a mouthful of blood. "If I wasn't internally bleeding, I would put you down faster than you could say your own name. You're a dirty fighter."
Schneziel ground his heel into Lelouch's injured stomach. "I'm not as dirty as you."
Lelouch squeezed his eyes shut, fighting against his will to scream out in pain.
Schneziel would take pleasure in his pain, at the sight of his blood. Schneziel whipped out his knife and knelt down on Lelouch's stomach, pressing his knife against the flesh of Lelouch's neck. "I could kill you with one swipe of this knife, Lelouch, and yet I don't. Do you know why?"
Lelouch struggled to breathe. He merely glared sadistically at Schneziel.
"I will not kill you now because I want you to see your Empire crumble. I want you to hear the screams of your loyal followers as they are annihilated by my new government. I will create the Empire that you could only dream of. I will make sure that you see the destruction of all you know and love."
"How about not?"
Schneziel felt a push, knocking him to the ground in full force. He grunted before looking up at who tackled him.
"Heh, I'm impress. You're not like any other Empress, I haven't seen one with this much power since Lady Marianne."
Lelouch slowly pushing half of his body up, looked at his wife. "Kallen, what are you doing here?"
Kallen turned and ran over to Lelouch. "Lelouch, are you all right?" she asked, while examing his wounds.
"I told you to get Nunnally."
"Suzaku's with her right now." Kallen replied. "Besides, I couldn't leave you here battling Schneziel all by yourself."
Lelouch gave Kallen a slightly painful smile. "You're truly are loyal to a fault, Q1"
"How sweet. The king and his queen… Together. A perfect way to end a union…By dying together."
"Prince Schneziel, that's enough."
Schneziel, Lelouch and Kallen looked to see Ohgi, Todouh and the Black Knights standing at the doorway.
"We heard everything." Said Ohgi.
"What?! How?!"
A laugh that could send chills to the bone echoed. "Well, brother, it looks like the truth is out."
Schneziel had a confuse look on his face, wondering what Lelouch was talking about.
"During our conversation and scuffle, I manage to hit the microphone, exposing you for what you're really are. I think this is where I call check." answered Lelouch as a sinister smile crept up on his face.
"Impossible!"
"So, you used us as well. To make us weak and vulnerable and turn us against Zero, so that you can have the advantage of winning this war."
Schenziel bowed his head, then out of nowhere, started laughing, placed his long white gloved fingers on his face. "Well, I can say that you were more gullible than the High Eunuchs. Believing that you'll get Japan back if you betrayed Zero and then willingly side with me to go against him and your former ace." He stops laughing and then his facial appearance turns serious. "Well, I guess I just have to finish what I've should have started."
Schenziel took out his gun from his breast pocket, pointing his weapon at Lelouch and Kallen, firing at both of them.
Time seem to move slow for both. Lelouch, despite being injured, jumped in front of Kallen, shielding her from the two bullets coming their way, hitting him twice in the back, knocking them both to the ground.
"LELOUCH!" Kallen gently pushed Lelouch off her. She caresses his cheeks and pushed back his bangs. "NO, NO, NO! Lelouch, please wake up. Wake up. Please don't leave me. Please"
Kallen not paying attention, didn't notice Schneziel coming toward her and Lelouch.
"KALLEN!" cried Ohgi.
Kallen looked at Ohgi, then the face of the gun wielder. "So, this is how I'm going to die. At least I'll be with Lelouch and Naoto, again."
Schneziel pointed his gun at Kallen's head and was ready to pull the trigger when he heard something.
"Schneziel"
Schneziel half turned around before his body began to jerk in sharp, odd little movements. Blood began spurting from mysterious holes that were being punched through his body. Schneziel opened his mouth and looked down at the front of his outfit, now drenched with blood. His dimming eyes traveled around the room to search for the culprit. They widened when they stopped at the doorway.
It was Suzaku.
"…You?"
His hand fell harmlessly to the side. Then, Schneziel's knees crumpled, and he collapsed to the ground next to Lelouch and Kallen. His purple eyes grew wide and bright, reflecting the lights above them. "…My mistake…was sparing your life…."
The breath in his throat escaped like a breeze, and Second Prince and Prime Minister of Britannia, Schneziel el Britannia was gone.
And with that, the battle of Mt. Fuji was over.
So that's the end of this chapter. There is one more left until the next saga. Stay tune!
