Egg-sama coughed, spit and phlegm flying over his sheets. The warm rags that passed as blankets draped around his smooth, round body. He shivered as another cough was wrenched from his raw throat. Eggressa leaned over the mattress Egg-sama was lying on, a helpless expression spread across her face. She glanced at Egg-sama's dull, colorless eyes and gave a small whimper, looking away. Egg-sama wheezed, sitting up slightly, gaining Eggressa's attention instantly. She leaned against the bed, trying to gently lay Egg-sama back down. "E-Egg-sama! You mustn't get up! You're much too sick to be moving at all, sir!" Egg-sama pushed her away, clearing his throat. His scratchy, cracked voice filled the small room. "Eggressa... I-I need to t-tell you something... please, c-come close..." Eggressa sniffed, holding back her tears and pressed herself against Egg-sama. "Yes, Egg-sama? I'm listening." "E-Eggressa... I l-love... you..." Egg-sama let out a tight breath, becoming limp in Eggressa's grasp. Fresh tears were flowing down Eggressa's face, dripping to the ground and staining the creaky floorboards. She caressed Egg-sama's cold face gently, then with hesitation, pressed her lips against her dead lover's own. After the kiss, Eggressa crumbled off of the bed and to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. Sorrow and agony pierced through her broken heart, and she let out a mournful cry of anger and sadness at her loss.
