Hey everyone. This story was brought to you by Holmes Mystery, Hogwarts Northern Winter Funfair Build an Igloo, and December Event Advent Calendar on Hogwart School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For Holmes Mystery I wrote for the prompt of rain. For Build an Igloo I wrote for the prompt of status Pure-blood. For Advent Calendar my prompt was the Fanon Pairing of Fred/Hermione. I hope you all enjoy Dancing in the Rain.
Hermione doesn't know when the rain had started having been preoccupied with her thoughts during lunch. She had been spending the summer vacation with the Weasley family like any other summer after a year at Hogwarts.
"That means the Quidditch game is canceled," Ron muttered as she glowered at the dark sky and the falling rain.
Hermione didn't mind that the rain had canceled the Quidditch game. She always only sat and watched which sometimes could get quite boring at times. She always usually brought a book with her when the Weasleys and Harry played Quidditch. "Maybe we could do something else?" she suggested hoping Ron and or Harry took the bait.
"Maybe we could still play a nice game of Quidditch before the storm gets to bad," suggested Harry.
Hermione sighed in defeat knowing that she'd yet again been over ruled by the Pureblood family's need to play Quidditch. She just didn't understand it. Knowing she couldn't very well bring a book outside with her in the rain she didn't know what she'd do during the game. Understanding the need to play or not Hermione found herself following everyone out the little place the family used to play Quidditch at.
Fred watched as Hermione sat glumly down in her usual place that she sat in during their Quidditch games. He felt bad that no had even bothered to consider Hermione when they decided to play even though it was raining.
"You coming, Fred?" George called out to his twin brother.
"I think I'll give Ginny a chance to play this time," Fred said as headed over to join Hermione.
"Whatever you say, Freddie," George muttered as he walked towards the others to tell them that Fred wasn't playing this time. He smiled looking over towards Fred and Hermione.
Hermione once again observed in her thoughts not realizing that a shadow had fallen over her. Nothing bad had ever happened to them at the Burrow this far. Leaning back and let the rain fall over her face Hermione was content to just sit in her little piece of heaven on earth. Opening her eyes she noticed Fred standing there.
"Can I join you?" he asked smiling at her.
"Of course," Hermione said indicating that he should sit down. "I've always liked the rain."
Fred watched her as mused on about the rain and how refreshing it was. He'd never really enjoyed the rain all that much. Not even during a Quidditch game. But he was happy to sit there and listen to Hermione talk about it.
"When I was younger," Hermione was in the middle of saying, "my cousins and I used to dance in the rain. It was always something we did whenever it rained." She smiled caught up in her memories.
"Do you want to?" Fred asked holding out his hand to Hermione after getting up.
"Want to what?"
"Dance in the rain of course."
Hermione nodded happily allowing Fred to help her up. As the rest of the Weasley family watched on Fred and Hermione danced in the rain. A moment of pure happiness in the mild of the war.
I hope you all enjoyed Dancing in the Rain.
