...Nothing is whole and nothing is broken...
He wasn't really sure when it was that he stopped seeing Naminé and started seeing Kairi. Sometime after merging again with Sora, obviously. It started slowly, insidiously; sometimes he would look for Naminé in her Other's eyes and just get so lost in that sea of violet that he would forget what it was he was looking for altogether, faintly aware of Sora getting lost, too, but in that elusive blue he himself had been looking for to begin with…
Then other times, he would catch a glimpse of gold next to him and turn, only to find her Other smiling up at Sora, oblivious to the Nobodies' twined love. He'd notice the intricacies of the auburn locks, strangely enjoying the way that the sun caught their fire and reflected it tenfold. Then, with a start, he'd remember Naminé and look away, ashamed of his own inadequacy. But surely she'd understand that her Other is just as lovely as she, just in a different way?
It was a long time before he even said her name. He knew that Naminé's Other belonged to Sora, and he to she; that he himself belonged to Naminé, and she to him. That was the order of things. The Keyblade Bearer loved his Princess, and the two members of Organization XII could wallow in their pasts together. Naminé helped him when no one else would, and he would always be grateful for that. But did he love her? He'd agonize and agonize for days on end, ignoring Sora's gentle chiding to just listen to his heart. What heart? It was well enough for the Keyblade Bearer to talk, but what about him? And what of Naminé? How did she feel? He knew she cared for him deeply, but he had a nagging suspicion that she had never gotten over Sora. After all, Sora had saved her, been kind to her when no one else had been. He had probably been the first person to not call her a witch, the hated nickname, and had forgiven her so readily when he heard of her deception.
And let's not forget Kairi. She seemed to love Sora, yes, but she'd never actually told him so, never professed her feelings. She could love Riku, for all he knew, though he never confided this to Sora. Sora was just too happy-go-lucky for such deep and broody thoughts. Same with Kairi. Naminé and Roxas were just weird that way, he supposed; it came with being a Nobody. Naminé probably wasn't as vocal with her thoughts to her Other as Roxas was with his, though; she just was too timid for that.
So he was surprised when Kairi looked at Sora happily one day, but she wasn't looking at Sora at all; she was looking at him. Not Naminé. Kairi. And he was even more surprised when she leaned into Sora—him!—and kissed him.
He was kissing Kairi.
Sora was kissing Naminé.
RoxasSora was kissing KairiNaminé.
And all four were quite aware of and happy with that situation.
…How was that even possible?
Roxas shrugged, knowing that he may well never know, and let himself get swept away by the kiss.
I added an extra couple; hope that's okay? Well, anyway...
--sob-- Nothing belongs to me. Except Sora and Roxas.
Okay, not even them.
