"Commander X!" Axl yelled. "We think we found it!" He yelled running, Zero hot on his heels. "We found the cure signal."
"We did, It's under a lake a long ways away." Zero said. "Axl, you need to learn not to yell everything, people are working." He stated, crossing his arms at the young reploid.
"Well, I mean, it's important. Right?" The mischievous boy asked, a large grin on his face. "Your coming right?" He asked the blue reploid.
"Yes, I am, Let's hurry, if we found it others may have aswell." The commander stated, rushing off to the helipad.
"It's been forever sense we had a mission, Huh, X." Zero said, a soft smile on his face that he rarely showed.
"Yeah, it has been. You've been doing ok?"
"Yeah, Me and Axl have been keeping up." Zero responded. "He's still-"
"As amazing as ever?!" Ask intrupted, putting his arms in the air.
"Childish."
X laughed softly to himself. "Good to know some things never change huh?" He stated.
Soon enough the Trio appeared at the lake. Everything around it was destroyed.
"You guys didn't do this right?" X asked looking down with a cold yet calculated look.
"Nope." "No X."
"Well, then we got trouble on our hands." X said, looking at the two as they landed.
"Five dollars, Vile is somehow mixed in this." Axl said, a goofy grin on his face as he took out his guns. "We got work to do."
"Can't anything be easy for once?" X asked sighing, before equipping his cannon while Zero grabbed his saber.
"Not a chance." Zero said, before leading the charge.
Mavericks littered the area, fighting the Trio with all they had. They we're swiftly taken out, however the amount was alarming. They we're reploids of every kind, medical, domestic, even a few of X's men.
They made it to the lab, where a odd ball creature floated. Vital signs, growth charts, and even, records from failed versions we're littered around the room. They took reploid chips, broken down people layed scattered about the room.
"Man this is creepy!" The youngest repoid said, before looking at the creature. "That, that's alive?"
"What! No! That's inhumane!" X said, walking over to the creature. Who seemed to be in pain. "They, made life but they don't take care of it properly."
"Well, let's get it out of here." Zero said, taking the small capsule, full of a clear liquid.
"A she." Axl said flipping threw the reports. "And, it's maybe out of, a cybernetic Dna? How is this possible? Poor thing must have been broken down so many times."
"Axl grab those reports, and anything else you can find. We need to leave." X said, before leading the way back to the helicopter.
