A few ways you can tell it's Christmas... (or whatever holiday they celeberate in Algaesia. I'll use Christmas since it's my favorite to make fun of). It's not that amusing to me but the devil made me do it! This whole thing is assuming that Nasuada likes Murtagh... I do not own Eragon or anything in Eragon.
1. Saphira has a very large barrel of eggnog by her when she sleeps.
2. Eragon keeps crying because he doesn't know what to get Arya.
3. Arya keeps crying because she knows Eragon will get her something stupid.
4. Murtagh takes up drinking... with some dwarves... and singing.
5. Nasuada orders that mistletoe be hung in every doorway. Ever made. And then orders Murtagh to come to her office...
7. Oromis does a 'show your teeth' kind of smile.

Anyway, 8. The chocolates on Nasuada's desk are gone and Orrin has a brown mouth.
9. Thorn is painted with white stripes.
10. The Menoa Tree is strung with lights and ornaments.
11. Queen Izzy takes up drinking with Murtagh...
