This Is Chapter 6 of Robot Apocalypse. I realize that I have been out for several years and because of this I am convinced that many of the people who have read this particular story hate me. Sorry for the long wait but here is the next chapter of the story. Enjoy.
It's been an entire year since Fair City has had any reports of giant robots smashing its inner infrastructure. You simply did not hear of a little boy named Tobey causing rampage and destruction on the city's streets. It didn't spook the major of the city. It didn't spook its residents. None of this spooked the millions of people living in Fair City. They pretty much assumed this kid was gone from the face of the earth and were happy with it. It was peaceful for the most part. There was only one person whom this did cause some worry and that was Becky Botsford.
Becky sat in her chair doing her homework on her desk in her bedroom. She had a test to do tomorrow and she wanted to be ready for it but something was bugging her that kept losing her train of thought. Ever since the attack frequency from Tobey McCallister has plummeted to literally zero, Becky felt worried and couldn't understand what happened to Tobey. He left the school a year ago in an instant and did not ever see him again. Becky, although previously hated Tobey, didn't hate him now that he was gone. For some odd reason she felt homesick and determined. She knew that Tobey had a crush on her as "Wordgirl" and didn't understand how he would just vanish without a trace. Did something happened to him? Where did he go? Why did he leave? These questions were stuck on Becky's head as she tapped the pencil on her desk staring down at her algebra textbook.
Becky didn't think nothing of it for the first two months but after the 5 month mark she had suspicions Tobey might have been up to something. After 7 months she believed Tobey might likely have left town as she couldn't seem to find him anywhere in Fair City. Sure he did leave the school long ago by that point but Becky figured he just went to a different school somewhere in Fair City. Becky had trouble finding Tobey's mother as well. After the 10th month has passed Becky has had at least three dreams about Tobey relating to lost love; one of those dreams being a nightmare where Becky would wake up in the middle of the night screaming. This is what caused Becky to worry and take the matter more seriously.
Becky got up from her chair and decided to look for something underneath her bed. When she grabbed something that felt like a plastic bag she pulled it out and saw that it had blonde hair inside it. Becky brought it up to her desk and sat on her chair. She had it on her hands observing it. This was the hair she collected on the very last robot she fought a year ago. She never did find Tobey that day.
"Where could he be? Robots are his passion… and so was I."
Becky kept fiddling with the plastic bag for a couple of minutes. She was getting tired. She checked her watch and saw it was 9:45 PM and remembering she barely studied. She didn't care about the test anymore.
"I need to go look for him. I have to find him. Tobey wouldn't leave like this! I got to find Tobey!"
And with that she layed on her bed without closing the textbook on her desk. She needed to do some searching. She needed to see some villains. She needed … a good nights rest.
That's it for Chapter 6. Thoughts?
