"I shall name this kit Firakit." Squirrelflight said cleaning my face. My eyes had still not opened so I hadn't an idea what was going on.

"That is a beautiful name. I'm sure she will be a good one," Brambleclaw said while gazing with pride at me. I quietly mewed and snuggled up next to my mother. The feeling I felt was hard to explain, I was new to the world, all kinds of new scents and sounds. I was safe, but when the next day came.. That would change.

Barking of dogs swirled around. I cried out for my mother, but she didn't answer. I tried hobbling around a little to see if I could find my brothers or sisters. I couldn't see a thing. I was suddenly hobbling in the wrong direction and ended up in a place where I could hear the rushing of water and yowling of some cats near me but not too close. As soon as the noise died down I drifted to sleep quickly, not feeling that I was being picked up and carried away.

"Firakit!"
