A/N: I was suddenly seized with the urge to write one before everything completely disappeared from my mind altogether.

Disclaimer: How tiresome. You know full well that I don't own it.

It was awkward, this atmosphere.

"Why?" he asked softly.

"Why what?" She asked, in a reply of her own.

"Why did you have to come here?"

A slight frown fell into her face, much like a leaf in autumn… it sort of eased itself in, and grew deeper with each passing second. "Is that a crime now?" She turned away from the window she had been staring at to favour him with a glance.

He shook his head. "No, not yet. I was just… call it curious

"I don't know. I just wanted to see you." A pause. "I must miss your arrogance too much. No one else is like that. " She added.

"I see."

It had been a while since they had met.

He motioned for her to sit, and she did so. She missed him, in a way. A totally non-crush related way.

Oh, who was she kidding?

She doubted that he bothered. It just wasn't him to do that. He was someone who remembered, but not someone who cared. Sure, there were exceptions, but she wasn't one of them. She wasn't stupid enough to let her hopes rise just to fall again. Yet... she didn't know why she liked him.

If asked, she knew what she would reply:Just because.

"Well?"

"So, Artemis, how have you been?"

"Good, I suppose."

He watched her, noting how beautiful she was like this-with the moonlight falling from the window, caressing her face. Her face was painted with a gentle smile which looked brighter than the afternoon sun. She still faced the moon, as if searching for it's hidden secrets. He wondered what she was thinking about.

All of a sudden, he was filled with a yearning…

To touch…

To feel…

To check if she was truly there with him; to touch that skin and see if it was truly as smooth as it looked.

He had no doubt that it would be.

"I should go" She murmured.

He nodded. "Drop by anytime."

She smiled softly. "Perhaps"she murmured.

They both knew that it was hard to get permission to get to the surface. The LEP had tightened their security. It would be a while before they met again, if they would at all. His eyes traced her form as she took off into the sky… further and further, until he could no longer see her.

Perhaps…Her voice echoed in his mind…

It isn't perhaps, he replied to his heart. We will meet again. I know it. There has been so many times that we thought we'd never see each other again, and yet we still did. So we have to, we just have to meet again... And I know that we will... just because... this is how it should be.

Til then...

Yes I know it sucked. Leave a review and put me out of my misery already!
