She left without leaving a number
She needed to clear her mind
Harry Potter walked the cold damp streets of London alone. No friends or family, no one knew where he was or how to contact him. He walked by himself to his house in number twelve Grimland Place.
He figured she'd gone back to Austin
Cause she talked about it all the time
Ginny Weasley sat alone in her room looking through old photos. Pictures of her and her friends, and of her and Harry in his favorite place, number twelve Grimland Place.
It was almost a year before she called him up
Three rings and an answering machine is what she got
Harry looked at the piece of paper and back at his phone. He knew it was stupid to be afraid to make a call, but a lot could happen in a year. He didn't know what to say. In the end he caved in and called her. He waited. One ring...two rings...three rings and then.
If you're calling bout the car I sold it
If this is Tuesday night I'm bowling
If you got somethin' to sell, your wasting your time, I'm not buyin'
If it's anybody else, wait for the tone,
You know what to do
And P.S. if this is Austin, I still love you
"Hi this is Ginny Weasley. I'm not home right now. If your calling about the broom I've already sold it, if it's Tuesday night I'm shopping, if your selling something I've already shopped so your wasting your time. Anyone else just leave a message and P.S. if this is Harry, I still love you!"
The telephone fell to the counter
She heard but she couldn't believe
What kind of man would hang on that long
What kind of love that must be
Harry dropped the phone right away. He couldn't believe it. She stilled loved him. After a year. He still had a chance for a happy ending.
She waited three days, and then she tried again
She didn't know what she'd say,
But she heard three rings and then
That phone call had hung in Harry's mind. He decided he needed to talk to her. He didn't know what to say, but he called her anyway. There were three rings and then...
If it's Friday night I'm at the ball game
And first thing Saturday, if it don't rain
I'm headed out to the lake
And I'll be gone, all weekend long
But I'll call you back when I get home
On Sunday afternoon
And P.S. if this is Austin, I still love you
"Hi! This is Ginny Weasley. I'm not in right now. If it's Friday night then I went to the Qudditch match and first thing Saturday if it's not raining I'm going to the beach for the weekend, but I'll call you when I get back on Sunday afternoon. And P.S. if this is Harry, I still love you!"
Well this time she left her number
But not another word
Then she waited by the phone on Sunday evenin'
And this is what he heard
Harry had no choice. He wanted to get into contact with Ginny so bad that he left his number, but didn't say anything else. Then on Sunday he stayed at home and waited until he heard the phone ring. He picked it up immediately and said...
If your callin' bout my heart
It's still yours
I should've listened to it a little more
Then it wouldn't have taken me so long, to know where I belong
And by the way boy this is no machine your talkin' to
Can't you tell, this is Austin, and I still love you
I still love you
"Ginny, it's me, look I was a fool to have ever left you. If I would have listened to my heart I would have known not to leave."
"Harry, is that you?"
"Yes Ginny, it's me, not a machine, can't you tell this is Harry, and I still love you!"
"I love you too!"
The End
