If I need your attention, all I need to do is steal something from you. Simple, as easy done as said. But, sometimes I wish that I didn't have to tease you to get you to look at me. That I didn't have to steal something, to get you to try and find me. Would you even notice I existed if I left you alone? I need you to know I exist, but even more, I want you to care. I want you to care that I am alive. You are the only one who notices when I disappear. I wish that wasn't only because you don't trust me out of your sight. I beg for you attention, you give it grudgingly. What will I do when we defeat Nergal? I will have to go back to house Ostia to continue my spy work. I wish this journey could last forever, because at least now you look my way, even if it is to shoot me a distrustful look. Once we part, we'll never meet again. You will continue to travel, training to become the best swordsman ever. I won't know where you are, and you have no reason to come and find me. You won't even say goodbye, will you? Not unless I seek you out. You can't wait to lose me and I never want to lose you. I can't hold on to you, not when you won't let me.
So every night when I'm lonely, I sneak into your tent and steal something. So in the morning I can see you searching for me, and for the moment you know I exist, for a moment I have your attention, for a moment you're totally focused on me. And I can pretend that the day will never come when we say goodbye. I can pretend the sun will never set.
