My latest story had deprived me of the teddy bear stuffing I usually write, so I feel this is long over due. Just a little bit of Odd and Aelita.
The factory elevator bumped to a stop, its doors sliding open and releasing its passenger. The pink haired girl exited, making her way casually into the large room that served as a home for a rather impressive super computer. A super computer that was, at the moment, occupied by a familiar blond.
"Hello Jeremy," Aelita said, leaning against his chair. "What did you need me to come here for? When you called you sounded really stressed."
Jeremy, who was sitting with his head resting on his keyboard didn't answer, instead just sticking out his arm and pointing. Aelita followed his extended finger to where another familiar blond was sitting against the wall, messing with what looked suspiciously like a Rubik's cube.
"Where did he get that?" Aelita asked, watching as Odd worked at the cube, mumbling a continual stream of chatter as he did. Jeremy shrugged.
"I don't know. But he showed up with it about an hour ago, and has been making all that noise since. I can't think straight. Please, just take him away."
"Okay Jeremy," Aelita said, giving her friend a sympathetic pat as she tried hard to hold in a giggle. "I'll take care of him." She then made her way over to Odd. It took him a moment to notice her presence.
"Oh, hey Aelita!" he said once he realized she was standing over him. "Look what I've got!" Odd held up his Rubik's cube proudly. Aelita smiled at her friend, and then grabbed his arm.
"That's great Odd," she said, tugging him up and dragging him towards the elevator. "But how about you show me somewhere else so Jeremy can get some work done."
Thirty minutes later, and Aelita was wishing she'd just left Odd with Jeremy. She had taken him away from the factory and for a walk through town. Excited to have Odd all to herself, she was hoping that maybe they could spend some alone time together, maybe go eat something or take a walk through the park. But Odd and his Rubik's cube were ruining her plans.
"Maybe this way…" Odd was mumbling to himself, the cube clicking annoyingly as he turned it every which way. "No, this way."
"Hey, Odd," Aelita said, "do you want to get a drink?"
"Or maybe I should turn it this way…" Odd muttered in response.
"How about we go see a movie?" Aelita suggested, linking her arm with Odd's.
"No, not that way," Odd grumbled, turning the cube some more.
Aelita sighed, tired of Odd ignoring her. She walked along for awhile, trying to think of something that would get the other boy's attention. She sighed as Odd just continued to rattle on, oblivious to Aelita's annoyance. If only there was some way to shut him up.
Suddenly an idea came to her. With a grin she came to a stop, her grip on Odd causing him to stop too. Aelita took a deep breath, moving to stand in front of the boy. He didn't even notice her slowly leaning closer and closer until…
"Hey look, I got one- mmf," Odd as cut off by Aelita's lips locking with his. After a moment of shock Odd returned the kiss, wrapping his arms around Aelita's waist and pulling her closer. The kiss quickly grew more passionate, resulting in a few stares from by passers.
"Finally," Aelita said, eventually pulling away for air. "I thought you would never stop talking. Now as I said before, how about we go get something to drink?" A rather dazed Odd just nodded, allowing Aelita to grab his hand and lead him happily down the street.
