With a yawn, a ginger she-cat stretched her small paws ahead of her; her claws digging into the grass. Curling her tail around her paws, her greens eyes turned to the tom next to her.
"Icepaw seems to have taken a different kind of liking to my son," she purred. She pointed to where the two apprentices sat.
She watched as Icepaw's bright blue eyes glittered at something Lionpaw mewed to her. The older golden furred tom nudged the apprentice's cheek. Icepaw gave an embarrassed glance to the ground below her snowy paws.
"Dustpelt?"
She turned to the brown tom only to see his gaze still on his only she-kit and Lionpaw. It seemed Honeystep had called him away to show him his nest in the Warrior's den after his ceremony that evening. She watched the expression on Icepaw's face change from happiness to longing and jealousy as she watched Lionpaw walk away to the golden she-cat.
Squirrelflight once again turned back to her former mentor. There was an emotion etched into his eyes that she couldn't even begin to fathom.
"Starclan… don't let her know that pain…" he murmured.
The ginger she-cat open her jaws to ask what he ment when she saw his gaze shift. She followed his line of vision until her eyes fall upon something she never...
Her green gaze met the light ginger fur of her mother. Sandstorm.
Yeah! The first chapter of a small Dust x Sand and Lion x Ice anthology.
400 words and less only for each drabble, loves.
Hope Dusty wasn't too out of character for his one-liner.
