Ring. Ring. Ring.
Kyle stared at his cell phone. Bebe looked at it, too. Then Bebe's phone rang, too.
"Should we-?" began Kyle.
"Yeah," said Bebe, shrugging.
They both answered the calls.
"Hello?" said Kyle.
"Hey, dude!" snickered a voice. "How's your date going?"
"Stan!" exclaimed Kyle. "Leave me alone!"
"What?" said Stan, trying to stifle a laugh. "Wendy's doing it, too. She's at my house."
"What's Wendy doing at your house?" said Kyle angrily. "I thought you two broke up!"
"Not anymore," chuckled Stan.
"This has been going on since we were nine, Stan!" exclaimed Kyle. "Two years already! What is going on with you two?"
"It's not about us," said Stan. "I'm interrupting your date! So tell me about it."
"We're at a restaurant," said Kyle. "Good-bye, Stan!"
"Wait, dude-"
Kyle closed his cell phone, ending the call. He looked up at Bebe, who, too, had finished talking, probably with Wendy.
"Shall we go on with our date?" Kyle asked, smiling.
"We shall," answered Bebe, picking up the menu. "You know, I heard they have excellent salad here..."
Kyle wasn't very picky, and chose his food quickly. And so did Bebe.
The waiter came quickly, and had no problem with two eleven-year-old kids by themselves. And, their parents thought they were going to the movies with Wendy and Stan. So, they gave them enough money for a dinner at a restaurant.
The two ate, chatting and laughing. With several interruptions, from two evil people, known as Wendy and Stan. But Wendy stopped calling after the seventh call.
Yes, seventh.
A few minutes later, Bebe and Kyle (who had both shared the bill) were outside of the restaurant, next to a gorgeous fountain, water elegantly sliding down its smooth surface.
Kyle surprised Bebe by pulling a long, red rose out of the pocket of his pants.
"For you," he said, blushing slightly.
Bebe took it gently, scared she was going to break the most beautiful gift she's ever received.
"Oh my gosh, Kyle..," she said quietly.
"Uh...I'm sorry if you don't-"
"No! I love it," Bebe said, trying to keep herself from crying. Then she smiled.
Suddenly, Kyle pulled her into a passionate kiss.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
Without pulling away, Kyle took the phone out of his pocket and slowly dropped it into the fountain.
