A group of JMSDF fighter pilots stationed aboard the Japanese helicopter destroyer Hayashi meet a young no-nonsense captain who takes command of the ship, much to their chagrin. But when the ship falls under attack by Russian planes and the flight lead crashes into a Russian-controlled island saving the young captain, both parties must work together to survive.

Echo and Ace his wing-man are deployed along with other aircraft from France immediately when two Russian Mig-21's are spotted attacking a tank convoy heading for safety. (characters in the story are OC's and completely fictional)
