He felt, as if he wanted to jump on Daemon for tricking him until he was robbed of speech, but by then, something caught his eyes. Before he could utter out a single word, a pink high-heeled slipper had made its way to Daemon at high speed, before it collided with the melon-headed guardian. To say the least, Daemon then landed unceremoniously in a bush with a loud thud, head first. Giotto just sweat dropped at the sight of it, but he was grateful to whoever threw that slipper off since he then was immediately released from the illusionary talon.
Whilst Daemon fell flat on his face, Giotto landed more gracefully on his feet, upright. Giotto would have probably helped Daemon getting up, if not for the fact that Daemon was the one who did all those tricks. However, he, again, did not have time to decide what to do, either to leave Daemon there and pretend as if it was nothing or help him instead, as footsteps were then heard approaching them.
"Daemon Spade", a very familiar figure of a female growled, as she hobbled through the courtyard. Spontaneously, Giotto turned his head. It was Elena, wearing nothing but a pink and white night dress. She was marching forward towards Daemon in rage.
"Elena", that was all Giotto's greeting to her, since he saw that Elena was not in the mood to talk to anyone at the moment, what's more, having a decent conversation with Giotto, except to explode at Daemon. He, on the other hand, had something to say to her, more likely, to thank her, but moments later, he seemed to be against the idea. Hence, he just mumbled his gratitude.
Elena, who seemed not to hear Giotto's greeting or probably she heard it but chose to ignore it, stood firmly in front of the fallen Daemon; both hands were on her hips. She was glaring dagger towards him. Daemon just blinked, as he gathered himself back and sat up.
"Nufufu, I see that you've seen our little show, Elena", said he, making probably a big mistake by doing that because afterwards, Elena had picked up the slipper of hers which she had thrown off, and almost threw it at him again.
"Little show, you said?" Elena roared, totally fumed in anger. "What do you think you are doing? Do you think it's funny to trick people like this? Whatnot, you have disturbed my beauty sleep for God's sake."
Giotto quietly nodded to himself, as it was clear to him now. Elena would probably not be here if certain melon-headed had not disturbed her sleep. Somehow, Elena was very grumpy when it came to her sleep.
"Daemon Spade, you are certainly in trouble. I expect you not to be in the room tonight. You may find some other room to spend your nig-!"
Crash!
A loud crash was suddenly heard, cutting off Elena's speech. She instantly stopped ranting, as three of them turned their heads to the mansion. The sound seemed to be coming from the inside. Another sound of crash then followed after.
'What else now?' Giotto grimly thought.
"What is happening?" Elena asked, her voice was quivering. Forgetting her anger on Daemon, she just dragged him up so as he would stand beside her, before slightly embracing him.
"I believe I've been asking the same question to myself since I stepped out of my office earlier", Giotto replied in a low voice, letting out a faint sigh. Why had the mansion become so 'lively' that night?
"Why don't we check it out?" Giotto suggested after a few moments of silence. But before he could take a step, Elena suddenly stopped him in his track with her sudden scream. It almost gave Giotto a heart-attack, really. Turning over his heels, he saw Elena's trembling hand pointing at the ground.
Both Daemon and Giotto looked down, only to see a stream of blood had flowed into the courtyard from the living hall; hell, Giotto was even stepping on it and not realising it. Their eyes widen at the horrendous sight. Question after question popped up in Giotto's head. Whose blood was it? Who had gotten injured? More importantly, why there was blood flowing from the living hall?
Spontaneously, Giotto turned and faced Daemon, wondering if this was another dirty trick of his. Although he sensed no illusionary trick, he still could not be sure. Daemon, upon noticing the look he got from Giotto, quickly waved his hands frantically.
"That wasn't me! I did not do this", he squeaked, denying Giotto's assumption. Sensing Daemon was telling the truth, and even his Hyper Intuition was ringing crazily in his head, he paled a bit. If this was not Daemon's, then whose job was it? Something was wrong. Something was definitely off.
All of a sudden, Giotto sensed a figure of a man, approaching them with an intimidating aura. He immediately got into fighting stance, as well as Daemon who had already brought out his scythe. However, as the moonlight was shining upon them and making that black figure more clear to their eyes, Giotto finally realised that the mysterious, approaching stranger happened to be a certain blonde - Alaude.
Alaude was bringing a pair of bloody handcuffs with him, as he walked firmly towards them. Giotto could not help but to think who the unfortunate ones were to become Alaude's victims, and probably soon, they would be ones as well. Giotto knew him well; it must be the previous commotion which had woken Alaude up.
"Oya, look who has joined the party", Daemon said. An almost sinister laugh came from him.
"Alaude, what are you doing here?" Giotto asked, trying to sound as casual as he could. He could tell that Alaude was most likely being in bad mood, seeing from the bloody handcuffs he was bringing.
However, instead of answering Giotto's question or reacting to Daemon's statement, Alaude just replied, "For disrupting the peace of the night, I shall arrest you to death."
"W-What?" Elena slightly shrieked.
Meanwhile, Giotto did not have time to think of anything, as Alaude had paced forwards with that intimidating aura of his, and that was the moment when Giotto had realised something weird with Alaude - his eyes were darker than usual and there was a glint of red in them. Three of them slowly backed off, still eyeing Alaude's figure carefully, and ready to run if needed. They were used to seeing the cold Alaude, but not this. This time, it was different. Giotto could feel it.
"A-Alaude", Giotto called out again, stuttering in his sentence. The only response he got from Alaude was a light groan. Alaude had already bared his shiny, sharp fangs, which Giotto did not know he had one, as he raised his handcuffs. He seemed to be ready to kill them anytime soon.
"Stay calm, skylark", Daemon tried to calm him down but to no avail. In spite they had a few 'misunderstandings', he still hoped that Alaude would wake up from this creepy state of his, and most importantly, he surely did not want to die in Alaude's hand.
"A-Alaude, what's wrong?" Elena then spoke up. She got no responses, only to be stared hard by him with his coal-black eyes.
Before one of them could say something else to try calming Alaude down, a loud voice came.
"Exorcise the evil to the extreme!"
Three of them immediately turned their heads to the source of that voice. Knuckle, being Knuckle, dashed forward enthusiastically. However, Alaude seemed not to be wavering and flinching. Clearly ignoring Knuckle's loud chant of prayers, Alaude's lips curled up to form a sly smirk, as if mocking them.
Seeing that Alaude did not listen to them at all, what more, Knuckle's prayers, Giotto turned into HDWM.
"Alaude, put that handcuffs down. Now." Giotto said firmly, but instead of having Alaude do what he was told to, he raised it even higher, and in a speed of light, came attacking Giotto. Giotto managed to avoid the blow though, courtesy of his Hyper Intuition. Alaude did not give. He still dashed to Giotto with an inhumanly speed. Giotto really did not want to hurt him or whatsoever, and hence, he just avoided every single blow Alaude gave.
All of a sudden, Giotto's legs were rooted to the ground, as if something strong was holding him down. This unknown force was also limiting his hands movement. Giotto was not able to move at all! Noticing that Giotto was not moving any longer, Alaude took his chance to charge forward and give a deadly blow to him; that is, if Daemon had not come and blocked it with his scythe.
"What exactly are you doing, Primo?" Daemon asked, almost sounding to be pissed off, as he blocked blow after blow from Alaude.
"For your information, I cannot move, Daemon", Giotto replied, almost sounding pissed as well. No matter how hard he tried to move his legs, he just could not.
"Fine. Then, what exactly are you doing, Sun Guardian?" Daemon glanced at Knuckle with his narrowed eyes. "If you are not too busy to pray, I would probably need some help over here."
Yes, Daemon hated to admit, but this time, Alaude was far stronger. It almost seemed like someone was aiding him, as if Daemon was fighting two people at the same time - two strong people.
"Fight the evil to the extreme!"
Whilst Daemon was busy blocking and avoiding Alaude's blows, Knuckle made a dash to him and easily knocked him out from behind, considering that Alaude was kind of distracted. Almost immediately, the force which was holding Giotto, vanished.
"Took you long enough", that was all Daemon's comment to Knuckle, as Knuckle just gave a grin.
When Giotto could finally move, he bolted toward the unconscious Alaude. The fangs were mysteriously gone, and the pale skin of Alaude had returned to normal. Turning to Elena, he quickly told her, "Quick. Get help!"
"Worries not, Primo. He is just unconscious. I didn't knock him that hard", Knuckle reassured him after seeing how concerned Giotto was.
"Then, that means we have to find a place to lock up this skylark before he wakes up and attacks us again", Daemon smirked, imagining if Alaude really got locked up in a cell though he was the one who always wanted to arrest people to death. How ironic it could be.
Listening to Daemon's suggestion, Giotto wanted to reply, but by then, a sudden dizziness came. The world seemed to be swirling around him. Giotto had to clench on Alaude's shirt to stay still. He tried to seek help from his guardians, but his visions were blurry and he could barely see one of them.
"What is happening, Primo?" Daemon had already on the ground, feeling the same sensation as Giotto felt.
"What's happening to the extreme?"
'So, it wasn't only me', Giotto thought. His guardians were also feeling the same. What was with this kind of feeling? His Hyper Intuition was ringing crazily in his mind too, making it double worse for him. Out of blue, they were all in dark, and the darkness seemed to be slowly swallowing them up...
A/N : This will be continued, of course. So, stay tuned! Don't forget to leave the review! It'll make me write faster! LOL
Oh well, I hope you guys enjoy reading this. Favourites, alerts and reviews are all greatly appreciated (and make me happy! Hehehe), but bashing and rudeness are out of league, okay? :D
