Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
Notes: I'm going to be an AUNT in less than six months . I have some pictures of AVcon in my LJ and I'm going to Manifest 08 in Melbourne. If you haven't, please vote in my poll. Ibiki/ Hinata are coming second.
Two Roads
My eyes are drawn to you,
Your blush on your pale face,
Your lips creating a smile,
I'm drawn,
But we live on two different roads.
Another night of shopping for food, he may be regarded as someone who is less than human but he still needs food to live. He walks down the almost empty road. It's almost ten at night and the roads are normally clear unless people are eating out and on a Monday night there are few people who would.
But there are many ninja, who use the night to forget themselves, forget that they kill and hurt and cause fear, and there is no better night than a Monday when people sleep early and they, the people of the night, drink themselves into a near coma.
And him? He has his uses for a Monday night that many would jeer at, tease him to the point where he would joyfully kill his own comrade. On Monday nights she would be there, sitting at the ramen bar along with her friends, the silent one and the loud one with his dog.
She would sit between them and listen as the loud one recreated his latest mission. He would use wild hand movements and make childish sound effects, and her? She would blush when he would wink at her, for no real reason, her pale face slowly having a small amount of colour spreading across her well bred cheeks.
He felt a twinge, nothing much, at seeing her lips curl into a gentle shy smile, the way her eyes would light up, it drew him to her, every Monday night.
He looked at himself in a passing store window, he was old. In his early forties, he was bald, choosing to rid himself of hair rather than have many bald spots where his scars rested. Yes, he was also a scarred man. Scars from many battles and wars that he had joined to keep the village safe and the grass growing, spoken as a metaphor. And yet every Monday he would shop at night when he could be with a woman just so he could see this young girl, no older than seventeen, the young Hinata Hyuuga.
Ibiki watched as the three paid for their food, the loud boy offering to pay Hinata's as he always did and her always politely refusing, and they walked grouped together down the straight road. The large white dog bounding beside them every now and then giving a yelp and the silent boy walking along side Hinata with the intent to protect, Ibiki took one last glance at the three, four if you count the mutt, and turned down his own twisted dark road.
He knew they were on two roads, two very different roads, and nothing could ever come to past. Ibiki had dark eyes, Hinata had colourless eyes, Ibiki enjoyed hurting his enemies and Hinata enjoyed saving people. His life was as dark and twisted as the street he was on, and hers was filled with people and light.
Two different people on two roads that will never meet.

Vote in the poll that's all I'm asking. And yes I had a great time at AVcon and took a few pictures.
