Summary: Hilary's sister comes to stay with her and her Mum. However, she has a past with Kai and her present isn't all it seems either. What does she have to do with the Abbey? Who is her father? How does she know Kai? And exactly what is her connection to her bit beast??

Chapter 5- Questions and no answers

"Are you sure that's not yours Ray?" asked Kenny, sounding confused.

Ray shook his head, "Nope, not a scratch on me. Which is unusual, seeing as the Demolition Boys always look for a chance to destroy us."

"But none of them were controlling the Bitbeast, they were all stood back until the end. When Tala called it back." Kenny growled, annoyed at being confused, he should understand this!

"Hey Chief, zoom in on this bit there…" Max pointed out an area on the screen and Kenny did so. Then Max pointed at the now much bigger mark on her shoulder, "Look, it's a picture of Wolborg, but with chains around it, as if its trying to break free."

"That's not a picture, Max, that's a tattoo. What can that mean though?" Kenny asked, absentmindedly.

"That the girl is bound to Wolborg and Tala." Kai said seriously.

"how do you know that Kai?" asked Tyson.

"I don't. But look, Tala's he only one to touch the blade at all, the one she turned to at the end of the match, and it just makes sense. It could be one of Boris' plans." Kai replied.

"Well, we know the Demolition Boys are onto something new, but cant we decide what it is later, I'm starving" Tyson complained, moving away from the screen.

Everyone rolled their eyes at Tyson's appetite and Kai nodded that they could. Then Hilary volunteered that they went to hers and order in, to which Tyson enthusiastically agreed and Max laughed and teased him. So, eventually they all set off for Hilary's, the events of the day seemingly forgotten… for now at least.

At Hilary's…

The gang had been at Hilary's for a while now, and Tyson was now fighting Max for the last slice of pizza. As everyone sat laughing at them, the front door opened and then slammed shut again.

"Selene's home." laughed Hilary as she heard her sister stomp up the stairs.

Max looked around, distracted, "Where?" he asked. Then gave a yell as Tyson's weight came crashing down on him. Tyson was now sat on Max, triumphantly eating the last slice of pizza.

With Selene…

Stupid injuries! Stupid everything! she thought furiously as she slammed the door of her room behind her, then pulled off the jacket which was now covered in blood, then lifted the bottom of her top up enough to see the damage. She winced as she did this, for the blood had started to dry and had attached itself to the t-shirt. Selene looked at the three identical deep scratches on her side.

Then, gritting her teeth, Selene reached under her bed and pulled out a first aid kit. As she was just pulling out some antiseptic fluid, when there was a knock at the door.

"Go away!" she yelled, teeth gritted against the stinging of the liquid. Stupid Brian! Not being able to fix this! She thought angrily and unfairly, it wasn't as if he hadn't tried, in fact he had tried, but it was like any bit beast wound. Not fixable by that method. Only rest and careful medical treatment could solve this.

The knock came again, pulling her out of her thoughts. "What do you want?" she yelled at the door.

"We were wondering if you wanted to come down and join us." came Kai's voice.

Selene growled and continued to stitch up the worst of the deep cuts. "In a minute!" she yelled through gritted teeth.

"Are you alright in there?" Kai's voice now full of concern.

"I'm fine! Now go away!" she yelled. After a few moments she heard his retreating footsteps and breathed a sigh of relief. That was close she thought as she started to bandage her side. She did this quickly and neatly, then cleared away, shoving the box under the bed again and walking to her wardrobe. She reached it and pulled out a short-sleeved red t-shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans and changed quickly, discarding her usual attire into a black bag. They were ruined now. Then she tied her long hair up in a high pony tail and, grabbing the bag, made her way downstairs.

She'd just put the bag in the bin, and was on her way back upstairs when a voice called her, "Selene! Come in here!" Hilary was calling.

Frowning, Selene did as she was told and walked into the room. The Bladebreakers were all sat down now, no longer fighting. Kenny was typing on his laptop, and Hilary was looking seriously at Selene.

"What?" Selene asked, looking around at the now semi-serious faces.

"Well, you know you've lived in Russia your whole life…" Hilary started.

"yes…" she replied suspiciously looking at her sister.

"Well, do you remember that legend you used to tell me when I was a kid?"

"What one?" Selene asked. The boys were slightly taken aback, wondering what Selene had been like as a child, rather than this cold person they knew now.

"The one about the Angel of Sacrifice." Hilary smiled at her.

"Why do you want to know about that? It's just a story." Selene bluffed the last part, trying to avoid telling it all over again. "Besides, you're not a kid anymore."

Hilary's face fell, "But- I mean, Ray battled with someone today and they had the Angel of Sacrifice bit beast. And, we can't seem to find anything out, so I thought…"

"Well, you thought wrong. It's a stupid story and I'm not telling it." Selene scowled.

"Oh, please…" pleaded Hilary, her eyes going a somehow darker brown and seemed to be pleading. Selene looked at them for a moment, her lips twitching then nodded, "Alright… I'll do it." Hilary beamed and then gestured for her to sit down. Selene chose a place, near Hilary, but far away from anybody else, trying not to meet Kai's gaze either. Then, when she sat, she began…
