hey everyone! I am sooooo sorry it's tken me so long to update but i have had serious writers block and i had so many new ideas for other stories that i just had to put down!

Anyways... rant over lol

Chapter 15 part 2- what now?

Kai was confused now, but he was glancing around the room, looking for an opportunity to escape. But the room had only one door, the one they had entered through, but no other possible exits. They would have to wait this out.

Then the door was flung open again and Kai saw a group of guards enter. In the centre of them Kai could see Tala, Selene and Hilary clinging to her sister, tears falling. Both Selene and Tala showed signs of being in a fight. Tala's eye was starting to bruise, and Selene's nose was bleeding. Despite this, at least four of the guards sported broken noses.

"Ah, so glad you could join us." Trainer said and the guards parted as he walked over to them, "I expected better of you Tala." he said and punched the boy in the stomach, Tala doubled over but didn't say anything, "And I expected nothing better of you, Girl. Did you really think you could get out of here with our guest?" Trainer laughed and slapped her across the face, her nose began to bleed again furiously, but Selene didn't say anything, just stood in front of Hilary, holding onto her tightly.

Kai saw this and was angry, How dare that man hit Selene! He'd show him! But Kai was calmed by Ray's warning look and he stayed where he was.

"You really are a failure! And worse, you have brought failure to the rest of your team too. Now, stand aside and it'll be easier for you." Trainer continued. Selene didn't move, "I'm warning you, Girl, MOVE NOW!"

"Go to hell." Selene replied, spitting at him.

"You'll regret that." Trainer threatened and gestured to the guards. Instantly three of them grabbed hold of Selene, whilst another wrenched Hilary away. Selene fought well. One of the guards fell to the floor with a broken arm, another collapsed into unconsciousness, but she was quickly subdued. There were simply too many to fight.

Selene watched with fearful eyes as Trainer dragged Hilary to the centre of the floor. "Such a waste, she was a pretty young thing." Trainer said and stood back.

At that moment Tyson and Max burst into the room, "Wha- Max this isn't where we were supposed to be!"

Max glared at his friend, "I told you we were going the wrong way!"

Then Tyson realised what was happening, "Hey! You! Get away from her!" he yelled at Trainer and started forwards but found himself restrained by two guards, "Hey! Get off me!"

Trainer smirked, "Glad you could make it gentlemen." he said then ordered, "Bryan, Spencer, Ian, Tala launch your blades now!"

"No! Trainer don't!" Selene shouted, trying to get free.

"Do it, Boys, or face the consequences!" Trainer ordered and all four launched their blades. "Now, attack!"

At this Selene attacked the three men holding her, cathing them off-guard and knocking them unconscious. Tala turned his blade on the group behind him and Spencer and Bryan did the same, until only Trainer was left standing. But not for long as Selene shot towards him with inhuman speed and tackled him to the floor, hitting him hard. After a few seconds, Trainer became unconscious. But at the same moment he fell into oblivion, Selene heard Hilary scream. She whipped around and saw Ian's blade flying towards Hilary, his bit beast about to attack.

"Ian! What the hell are you doing?" Tala yelled, running over, "It's over."

"No, Tala. It isn't. It's not over until I WIN!" Ian yelled in reply, willing his bit beast to attack with more ferocity.

"What the hell are you on about?" Brian shouted, as he got closer.

Ian gave an insane little giggle, "You're stupid! You all are! You didn't even realise! It was me! Every time your plans got ruined, it was me!" he was shouting with glee now as he continued to giggle.

Tala, Brian and Spencer looked at each other confused. Then anger took over and they ran faster, to tackle their former team mate.

It was too late.

"WYBORG! FINAL ATTACK!" Ian yelled, and his bit beast responded.

"Ian, No!" Selene screamed at him, but he didn't listen. She ran forwards, faster than before, trying in vain to call on Angel to counter the attack, but she couldn't do it whilst she was so scared for Hilary. She couldn't concentrate. As she ran she noticed that Tala and the others had turned on Ian, trying to get him to stop, but they were failing. On the other side she also saw Tyson running forwards, to hit Ian, but he was going too slow.

Selene reached Hilary and pushed her out of the way seconds before the attack struck. She raised her arm in a desperate attempt to protect herself, but screamed as her body exploded in pain. She could feel the bones in her arm shatter, and her ribs snapping as she fell backwards, hardly able to breath.

Kai watched in horror as the Bit beast crashed into and through Selene. He heard her scream, and tried to run forwards, but his legs wouldn't move. He saw her fall, her eyes closing and her whole body go limp. He willed his legs to move and they eventually responded. He ran over to her, but before he could reach her, he found the way blocked by the guards that had regained consciousness. And Trainer. Kai skidded to a halt and looked around frantically. Every single guard was now back on his feet, and everyone had been re-captured. The Demolition Boys being restrained by two guards each to stop them from leaping on Ian.

"Well well. Now that you've all got that out of your systems…" began Trainer, walking calmly over to where Selene lay, "I think it's time you were taught what happens when you cross me once too often." he spoke icily cold, and hauled Selene up in one arm.

They all watched in horror as Trainer drew a knife from his boot. It glinted dangerously in the bright light.

"Trainer! Don't!" Tala yelled, his face a mask of horror as he strained to get free.

Trainer turned on him, "Shut up if you value your life!" he growled, before turning back to Selene who was limp in his arm. He smirked, "Finally. I get the chance to call this experiment a failure." he raised the knife and pushed it slowly into Selene's stomach.

Kai watched in horror as the sharp metal drew closer to Selene's midriff. He felt his legs seem to bolt to the ground again and he couldn't move as the knife was stabbed viciously into her. Blood welled up, her t-shirt turning a deep red colour, drenching the floor, as Trainer slowly drew the knife out. As he raised the knife into the air, grinning wildly, he turned to Hilary, pointing at her with the knife. "Now, shall we try the experiment again or just kill you so we don't complicate things?" he asked rhetorically.

As he let go of Selene, Kai saw her eyes snap open. But her eyes were now a bright amber and she didn't fall to the floor. Instead she seemed to kind of float up. Trainer whirled around to see her hovering off the floor, he looked confused, but amused, "So you want to fight some more?" he asked and brandished the knife.

"Leave my sister alone." Selene said, her voice louder and clearer than any normal human's. She hovered higher, until she was almost at ceiling height. Then with a cry she extended her hands, aiming them at Trainer.

Fire spurted from the palm of one, Ice from the other. Trainer tried to run, but she glared down and the ground underneath him moved, causing him to fall. Then, whilst he finally realised the danger he was in, a great wind came up and caused a tornado mixing the fire and ice together.

The magical vortex flew at him and, with a scream, he was gone. The same happened around the rest of the room as the unnatural tornado vaporised every guard that stood there. There were no blackened corpses. It looked as if there had only been a few people in the room.

When this was done, the power streamed back to Selene who smiled briefly at Hilary, blowing her a sisterly kiss, before a look of intense pain took over her face and without a sound she fell from her great height. Kai saw her fall and ran forward, catching her in his arms. Her eyes were shut tightly, and her breathing had stopped. As he cradled her in his arms he could feel her heart beat slow to a stop. There were tears on his face as he held her, but this lasted only for a moment or two. Selene was wrenched from his arms by Tala, who was shouting at Brian to help.

"Tala! Leave her alone!" Kai yelled, not entirely sure what was going on.

"Shut up Kai!" Tala growled and ripped open the bottom of her t-shirt, exposing her stomach, which was slick with blood. Kai launched himself at Tala, but was held back in mid-leap by Spencer.

"Wait, Kai. Tala knows what he's doing." Spencer said quietly.

Kai now saw that Tala had gone extremely pale and was shaking slightly. He was holding onto Selene's hand with a vice-like grip as Brian reached them and drew out his blade. Kai struggled to get free, but again Spencer stopped him. Then Kai watched as Brian put his hand on his blade and called on his bit beast. Falborg rose from the blade, and, maintaining contact with Brian, seemed to dive into the open wound on Selene's stomach.

"What the hell is going on?" Kai asked, confused.

"Brian is the team medic, Kai. His bit beast has secret healing powers for other bit beasts. It works with Selene because she is part bit beast. It's worked before, it should now." Spencer explained, keeping one hand on Kai's arm.

"And what about Tala?" Kai indicated to where Tala was visibly sweating and struggling to maintain his grip.

"Tala's Selene's anchor. She needs him to get back when she goes too far. He's using Wolborg's strength and presence to call Angel back, and Selene will come too. Hopefully."

Kai nodded, not quite understanding, but accepting what he said as true. To his amazement, the blood on Selene's skin was disappearing. Re-entering the body through the open wound. As he watched, he saw Falborg draw back and re-enter his bit chip. Leaving behind a rapidly healing wound. Within seconds the skin was smooth and unblemished, with only a faint scar to indicate what had happened.

Brian stood up and walked over to Spencer and Kai, "I've done all I can." he said, "Her body's fine. It's up to her and Tala now."

Now Kai could hear Tala calling gently to Selene, calling her back, "Come on, Selene… It's not your time yet… Your sister needs you still…" he was saying over and over again. After a few agonising minutes, Tala suddenly smiled in relief, but didn't stop. He looked up at the others and nodded once.

"It's working." Spencer said, relief evident in his voice.

"What's working?" Tyson asked, confused.

"Tala's called her back. She's going to be fine." Brian explained, sitting down in exhaustion.

At that moment, Tala sat back with a sigh, and put his free hand gently to her cheek, "Time to get up." he said, smiling.

"imawanna" Selene muttered, screwing her eyes up tightly.

Tala laughed and shook his head, before leaning over to help her sit up. She opened her eyes and she looked around urgently, making her head spin.

"Trainer?" she asked as she sat bolt upright.

"Gone. You took care of him." Tala explained, holding her in her sitting position gently.

"Hilary!" she said urgently, trying to look around without feeling sick.

"I'm right here." Hilary said tearfully and ran to her sister, hugging her tightly. Tala stood back to let the two sisters be reunited. As Hilary hugged her sister, Selene laughed shakily, "Now I feel like the younger sister." she muttered. Hilary laughed, "You're more of a sister than I ever was. All I did was shout at you." she said quietly.

"Listen to me," Selene said seriously, holding her at arms length, "don't ever say that. I did what I did because I wanted to protect you. Because I couldn't bear to let you go through any of that. Don't you ever feel guilty. What happened is in the past now. That's where it stays. Besides…" she grinned, "it's kinda funny to have you shouting at me."

At this point, Hilary smiled and stood up, moving over to Tyson. Selene smiled sadly at the pair and nodded to Tyson who grinned and put his arms around Hilary.

"Go talk to her." Tala whispered to Kai. Kai jumped at Tala's voice and shook his head. Tala sighed impatiently, "She'll want to speak to you." Kai shook his head again and made to leave the room, but Tala signalled to Brian and Spencer who quickly ushered everyone out of the room, leaving Tala and Kai looking at Selene. "Go on." Tala said and pushed Kai towards her and left the room quickly.

Selene rolled her eyes at Tala's retreating back and made to stand up. She wobbled slightly and grimaced as Kai grabbed hold of her. "Thanks." she said, holding onto him.

"No problem." he replied.

They were silent for a few moments before Selene spoke, "I'm sorry about what happened Kai." she was looking down to the floor, avoiding his eyes.

"It's alright. I understand why, you had to protect Hilary." he replied, not looking at her either.

"I didn't mean that. I'm sorry for hitting you."

Kai looked at her surprised, "For hitting me?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"When we met at the airport." she replied, turning and smiling at him.

Kai chuckled, "Well, I guess I deserved it."

"Yeah." she paused, then looked him in the eye, "I missed you so much when I was away."

"I missed you too. I didn't know what was happening." Kai replied, looking concerned at her.

She winced, "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you. I thought about you all the time. Thank you."

"For what?"

"Helping me that night. If it wasn't for you…" she trailed off, both knowing the end of the sentence.

"It was nothing." he said, smiling at her.

There was more silence, which Selene again broke, "Kai, I've been wanting to do this for a long time now."

"What?"

"This." she said and leaned up to him and kissed him. Kai was taken by surprised but kissed her back. When they drew apart, they both smiled at each other and he put his arms around her.

"Now why didn't you do that sooner?" he said.

well... there we go, what is basically the last chapter... i cant believe that! I'm gonna really miss writing this... it looks like i'm going to have to post one of my others to keep me occupied now lol

Sorry about the bad chapter title, but it was difficult to think of really...

well... only the epilogue to go now (snif sniff)
