Well, here we go, the very last chapter EVER of this story... i think anyways!
It's just to show what happened to who (the main characters anyway) and leads the way to what their lives are like later on...
It's a bit of a romantic chapter and a bit cheesy lol but that's just the way i saw it, happening after all the main action of course!
Well, letme know what you thought of everything!
Disclaimer.... as before (for the last time!lol)
Epilogue:
"Oh my God! Le! You won't believe this!" Hilary yelled as she ran to where her sister was sat in the café waiting for her. Selene stood up and hugged her sister in welcome.
"What wont I believe?" she asked, gesturing for her sister to sit down.
Hilary did so and exclaimed excitedly, "Tyson proposed!"
"That's amazing!" Selene said, hugging her sister again, "How? When?"
"This morning. I met him in the park because he said he had something important to ask me and he was waiting for me by the bandstand with a red rose in his hand. Then he whistled and a white dove flew down and landed on his hand and in its beak was a beautiful white-gold ring. But before he could say anything it flew off, taking the ring with it, and he had to chase it all over the park, before he finally got it back from the top of a tree! And as he tried to get down, he fell and grinned at me, then he asked me and I said yes!" she said quickly, beaming, she showed her hand to Selene whose eyes grew wide as she looked at the thin band which was studded with diamonds, but with a bright ruby set in the middle.
Yes, a lot of things had changed since that day five years ago. Selene thought to herself as she walked home after her meeting with Hilary. She smiled as she thought of how happy her sister was. Tyson teaching kids to blade, whilst Hilary encouraged him, even accompanying him as he searched out lost bit beasts and parts of legends, despite the fact that she still didn't understand the sport.
Selene had never thought they'd stay together, but five years later she'd been proved wrong.
She had changed a lot too. The BBA had been unable to reverse the experiment, but she'd been secretly glad about that. Now she didn't have to give up how close she felt to her bit beast, and she would always have Angel to give her advice, something she'd been needing quite a lot lately. She wasn't as suspicious and cold to people anymore, she'd become a warmer, more trusting person. But her protective streak hadn't died. It had intensified since then.
Selene had also become the owner of the Allasandrov company, which had changed completely since her father's downfall due to charges of illegal experimentation and its links with the abbey. Selene had used the a lot of the money to donate large amounts to various charities and had established several large worldwide orphanages which strived to provide the best for its residents, including each child having their own trust fund, which helped them to establish themselves if they needed it once they had left. Each orphanage was run by someone who was handpicked by Selene, and she visited them all as often as she could.
Tala, Brian and Spencer ran the Russian Orphanage, and Selene smiled to herself as she remembered her visit last week, where Tala had been jumped by a group of children and no matter how hard Tala had tried to tell them off, they just continued to wind him up and tease him.
Selene did miss her old team. She didn't see them as often as she had before, and it amazed her how quickly they had become adults. At 24, Brian, the oldest, was now married and had a little daughter who was 2 years old and Tala's main tormentor. Spencer wasn't married, but he didn't see that as a problem, he devoted his time to raising the children under his care as well as he could.
It had been Tala that had surprised her though. He wasn't married yet, but he'd been seeing a woman named Carlie for three years who was caring, kind and very protective over Tala and everyone she knew. Tala had told her all about his life before, and she had surprised him by not leaving him. Selene and Carlie had become friends within minutes of being introduced and Selene had spent time explaining to Carlie the past and what Tala had been like then, whereas Carlie spent time informing Selene everyday about the new adventures of Tala and the children.
Selene walked through the entrance to the park, grinning as she spotted where Tyson must have fallen out of the tree earlier that day. She continued to walk, suddenly aware that it was getting darker as the sun set completely. She pulled her coat around her more and walked a bit faster, hating being caught in the dark alone.
At that moment, hundreds of little lanterns sprung into life either side of the path she was walking, leading right up to the now illuminated bandstand a way ahead. Selene smiled and made her way to the bandstand where someone was stood, leaning against one of the posts. As she reached him, she saw that he had a single red rose in his hand. She laughed.
"You're not going to ask me to marry you are you?" she asked, smiling up at him from the bottom of the steps.
He grinned back and walked down to meet her, kissing her before whispering in her ear, "Now what makes you think I'd be that stupid?"
"Do you really want me to answer that?" she replied as he held her close.
Kai chuckled, "No it's probably better you don't." he replied, kissing the top of her head.
Selene grinned up at him, wondering again how he had managed to turn from teenager to young man in a few short years. He no longer had face paint on, and his face now wore the traces of an almost permanent smile, rather than frown, and his eyes were no longer unreadable, looking into them she could feel herself getting lost in the emotion in them as she had done so many times before.
"Besides," Kai said breaking the moment, "If I did that, we'd have to go through a divorce, and there is no way I'm letting you keep the duvet."
Selene stuck her tongue out at him, "I'd be prepared to fight for it." she replied seriously.
Kai regarded her, smirking, "Oh really? Well, I suppose I could leave you here in the dark and claim it for myself."
"You wouldn't dare." she replied, laughing, "Because then I'd send Tyson and Hilary round to live with you"
Kai paled, "Alright, you win."
"I always do." she replied.
"But only because we can't have Kai Jr. growing up without his mum." Kai said, as if she hadn't spoken, putting his hand round her waist and on her slightly swollen belly.
Selene grimaced, "Kai Jr.? No way, what kind of a rubbish name is that? Besides, they could both be girls."
Kai laughed, "Girls? No I definitely think…" he paused, "Wait a minute, what do you mean, both?"
Selene laughed now, "Well, when I went to the appointment today, they told me there were two." Kai looked at her in shock and she continued, looking at him seriously, as if she was expecting him to announce he was going to leave her, "Do you think you can manage two?"
Kai shrugged his shoulders, "Well, if Tyson and Hilary can stay together, and Tala can find a girl to keep, I'm sure we can cope with twins." he hugged her tightly, beaming, unable to believe this news, "Come on Mrs Hiwitari, let's get you home to rest."
Selene laughed, and together they walked away from the bandstand, heading in the direction of their home, leaving behind them the single red rose, laying perfectly illuminated in the light from the lanterns.
As they walked, the lanterns once again became dull and Selene held on tightly to Kai, who squeezed her hand reassuringly and pulled her closer towards him.
Yes, sometimes she really hadn't believed they could have stayed together, and she had been continuously proven wrong over the five years that had passed, and, walking hand in hand with Kai, Selene knew that there were many more years to come.
Aww! how sweet! (kinda sickly sweet a bit, but i couldn't resist!)
