A/N: first CSI: Miami story, don't judge me too harshly! I've been a dedicated fan for like 3 years now, and I adore Jonathan Togo and Adam Rodriguez. I figure I can make this happen, but again, it is my first, so do be nice. If you've ever read my Life With Derek stories, you'll know this tradition, but virtual brownies for reviewers!

Chapter 1

"Ryan!" Calleigh swatted her boyfriend's chest, then laughed. Ryan was a little bit twisted, but that was part of what attracted Calleigh to him.

"What? All I'm saying is, if he'd actually tried anything, I would've had to hurt him. Nobody touches my girl except me." He moved to rub her shoulders. Calleigh relaxed against him.

"You know, I have been trained to deal with bad guys. I had my black belt before you did." Calleigh was extremely independent, and she showed it a lot. Ryan had to be careful not to refer to her as his very often, or there would be arguments. Ryan knew that by now.

"How could I not know when you bring it up constantly?" Ryan rolled his eyes and continued rubbing her shoulders.

"Hold up, my cell's vibrating." Calleigh sat up straight, out of Ryan's grasp. "Horatio? What's up?" She paused, listening. "Alright. Ryan and I'll be there ASAP."

"Whoa. Where will we be ASAP?" Ryan stood up.

"Vehicular manslaughter on the JF Kennedy Causeway. Hit and run." They both grabbed their gear and headed for their respective SUVs. Ryan followed Calleigh into the city.

"So, Alexx. Any ID on the vic?" Calleigh bent down to look more closely at the young girl laying on the ground.

"Not yet, Cal. Why don't you check the car? I'll yell at you when I find something."

"Yes ma'am," Calleigh saluted Alexx and walked towards the Ford Taurus. She put on her gloves and opened the door. Her sharp eyes spotted something metallic lying on the passenger's seat. "Hey, Eric. Come look at this." She grabbed the bullet and put it in the evidence bag. She held out the bag to Eric.

"You're the firearms expert, Cal. What gun is it from?"

"That's what I'm asking you. It doesn't look like a bullet I've seen before."

"Take it into the lab."

"Done." Calleigh continued examining the car.

"Hey, Calleigh!" Alexx called. Calleigh jogged over.

"We have an ID and cause of death on our vic. Gabrielle Winters, and she's only 17. She died from a bullet through the heart, not impact. This doesn't look like any normal accident, Cal."

"Thanks, Alexx." Calleigh's brow furrowed in confusion.

"I'm going to get her back to the morgue, see what else I can find out." Alexx started packing her tools up.

"So... where would you like to go tonight?"

"Your house, if at all possible."

"Very possible." Ryan smiled.

"Only six more hours of working."

A/N: I know it's a really, really short first chapter, but it's almost eleven and I have school tomorrow. I'll update it by Sunday night, I promise! And oh, I love Calleigh and Ryan.

A/N (Way later...): I've found out I don't have the imagination to solve a crime and write a romance for CaRWash, especially since I've seen the latest episode, Smoke gets In Your CSI's... and I think I may just learn to like Eric and Calleigh. Sorry, guys! Enjoy my little chapter, but I don't have the inspiration to finish it. Maybe I'll come back to it someday... but probably not.
