In another life, he thinks he could have been better.

He waits, forever in a moment as the gun is cocked.

Pain races through him and it's all he can do not to throw up.

His hand is mangled, his body riddled with wounds.

He wants to grab the gun, pull it to his chest and end this life.

He's sickened by the rage, sorrow in the eyes before him.

He knew his life would end violently; no happy ending was waiting for him.

An apology lingers on his lips but no words could forgive his actions.

He's ready now.
