On First Dates

Summary: Megan has some doubts about things.

A/N: I'm sorry to all who ship MeganLarry, but I absolutely LOVE MeganDon, and a friend recently hooked me. Also, if you've read my other story for Numb3rs (Please?), this has nothing to do with that. I wasn't thinking about Melanie's mother when I wrote that, so feel free to substitute whoever you feel like in that story.

You've always known that Don Eppes isn't one to date a girl for more than a couple weeks.

So when he tells you that he's got a reservation for two at a high class restaurant, but Charlie cancelled and would you like to come, you know this is going to end badly.

But when you say yes anyway, and politely ask Colby if he can take your car back to your place so you can ride with Don, you know you're making a mistake.

And you know this night is going to be riddled with mistakes when he opens the car door for you, and you just smile and thank him and settle down in your seat.

You know things are going to get worse when you get to the restaurant and he holds the door for you. And when you get inside and he quietly asks the owner for his table, and the owner just smiles when he sees you, you know things are already getting worse.

You know this is all going to go down the drain when he asks the server for a bottle of wine, high-class stuff. And when the server gets back and yes, you're ready to order, you'll have the sirloin, medium please, and a small salad, no dressing, and he orders the same thing, you know there's a secret meaning behind all this.

You know things are getting worse when he pours you a glass of wine, and you sip thoughtfully from it, but then one time you look down and your glass is empty. Only for a few seconds though, because moments later he refills it, and you know you're not getting out of this sober.

You start to realize where things are heading when you glance down at your watch and see that it's eight o'clock, and you left work at five. You get that feeling of apprehension in your stomach when you look up and the wine bottle, once full, is now half empty, and he's only had two glasses.

Your suspicions are confirmed when he offers to drive you home, but when you're in the car, the exit he takes doesn't lead to your place. It leads to his.

But you know where this is going, and you're just along for the ride, so you sink down a little into your seat, and you don't let yourself get comfortable. There'll be time for that later.

And everything comes crashing down around you when he comes to a stop outside his apartment and looks away from the wheel and says that you probably shouldn't be alone tonight. And you just shrug and follow him in, but you both know where this is headed.

And you're doubtful when he leads you inside.

And you're scared when he tells you to sit down, so you don't.

And then all that doubt washes away when he whispers your name in your ear and leads you to the bedroom. All the doubts and apprehension is gone when your lips meet in a passionate kiss.

And all that's left is hope.

A/N: How was it? Hope you liked it. I had fun writing this. Review!
