A melancholy scene, a midnight so dreay.

My love sat upon his chair weak with anguish.

His thoughts on me, his lost Lenore,

when a sudden tapping came from his door.

"A visitor so late?" said I with sudden disturbance, "A visitor, my love, is at your door."

Just a visitor, or perhaps something more.

My hands reached to waken my weary love,

my fingers caressing his placid face.

Another gentle rapping, continuous tapping, and he stood up with his feet firmly to the floor.

"Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door." he spoke with languor.

"Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door."

Something more awaits beyond that chamber door.

He spoke to the static door as he rose from his seat.

Asking for forgivness from the late visitor.

Twas then that I noticed a dreadful presage emmiting from this door.

"Step back my love, please, step away from your door-

Tis not a late visitor entreating entrance at your door!"

.....Twas darkness there and nothing more.

A dark creature, red eyes as fire, sat beyond his window lattice.

"A demon from the Night's Plutonian Shore...?"

"My life is gone but his shall live on!"

"Leave, be gone demon, away from his door!"

But said the Raven, "Nevermore."

He settled, and sat, and nothing more.

My name he did shout towards the hushed demon,

Wanting to know what has become of me.

"I am here, my dearest, sitting beside you on the floor."

But he did not hear me as as he continued to shout on, "Lenore!"

And the demon sat perched on the pallid bust, placed upon his chamber door.

Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

The tears fell silently as I watched on.

My words meaning nothing, like useless thoughts.

"Beloved, step away from this, your chamber door-

I beg you do this, and nothing more!"

"Only this shall I implore, this from me, your lost Lenore."

My words were mere silence, nothing more.

The shadows of the ember danced along the cold wooden floor,

as the Raven, never moving, still sat above his door.

His soul appeared from the shadows galore,

his body falling limply to the floor.

He noticed me and whispered, "Lenore..."

Then he disappeared, and I saw him nevermore.

As said the Raven, "Nevermore."
