The first thing you notice about him is how quietly he laughs. It's almost as if he didn't do enough of it in his childhood, and you can't help but think that it'd be nice if he could just let loose for once. In fact, you think, Lupin is a quiet boy all-around.

"Wha?" James said, muffled through a mouthful of hotcakes. "Oh, Lupin. He's bloody smart, I've heard. Kind of looks too gentle though, yeah?"

Yeah.

If you remember correctly, he's usually found in the library or nestled on one of the common room's armchairs. He probably thinks he's being furtive, but you know when his curious eyes are peeking over his textbook, watching you and your friends shouting and making girls blush. Once or twice, you swear that you can hear him trying to stifle his chuckles.
