Alex couldn't understand,
why his mom begged for his hand.
Alex was lost in a world of pain,
marked and scared with such a stain.
Couldn't he find a way out?
Lost in darkness without a doubt.
He couldn't see the wonders that stood before him,
though the earths warmth let him in.
He couldn't see,
you or me.
The birds, or flowers, nor any tree.
He couldn't read nor write,
he'd barely get enough sleep at night.
The sounds he herd,
are all a blur.
In his mind,
he couldn't find,
words to say,
in simple ways,
to tell you it was all okay.
