"Crews, I know it's been months since we're seen each other, and a whole lot almost dying going on but you really need to stop touching me."

It had been only a week since everything came to a end, everyone was safe and sound, we were reunited and slowly falling back into routine but the massive amount of hugs he was giving me weren't part of the normal.

In the middle of integrations, in front of every detective in the place, and it wasn't long before I was sick of it.

(my lips said so, but my body was telling a different story)

"Come on Reese, it's just a hug and after what we've been through I think we both need hugs. Don't you?"

"No!"

It doesn't help that a tangerine is staring at me from the top of my desk, number five in a series of fruits that have found there way to my desk top each day of this week, and we can all guess who's putting them there.

"Crews, what the hell is that?"

"A sweet and nutritious tangerine, eat up! An apple a day keeps the doctor away, while a orange a day just makes you smile. Come on Reese, just one little bite."

If this keeps going and knowing Crews it probably will, always ready with something new to do that's always out of my comfort zone, I'd rather just give in and take a bite then have rotting fruit in my garbage cans.

(plus it breaks his heart every time I chuck a fresh ripe apple in to the waste basket)

"Not even if you payed me, Crews, now lets get to work and forget the damn fruit."

While he was busy connecting himself with our next case, another one he uses to bury himself in and forget everything (in the present and past), it was chance to take a bite without him catching me in the act.

Which of course is just what happens and Mr. Zen is sprouting the biggest grin known to man, while I'm busy saying some profanity and tossing the stupid thing in the trash.

(that joker grin of his is still in place the whole time and would be for hours to come)

"Caught red handed!"

"What? I didn't have breakfast and all the damn fruit is making me hungry, nothing to do with you Crews."

Before I could brush this off and go on to catch a new bad guy, while the one I wanted to personally put in the ground is already there (thanks to a fist), he sneaked attacked me once again and got yet another unwanted hug in.

But this time I didn't push him off, and hold on to my gun with a scowl, instead for the first time in the dozen or so personal space invasions I sort of hugged him back.

"Told you needed one, Reese, we all do."
