He loved to watch his little charge sleep. Spain held little Romano's hand as he watched him sleep, worn out from being out in the tomato fields all day. He didn't mind it when Romano was awake, yelling at him or throwing a tantrum, but watching his little chest rise up and down, and his cheeks tinted a light pink in sleep, made him even more adorable.
"Mi tesorito~" he whispered lightly near his ear, resting his head next to Romano's face. Romano twitched his eyebrow a little bit, but continued sleeping peacefully.
Spain brushed brown strands of hair out of Romano's face and then moved his hand towards Romano's, holding the small hands gently in his own larger hands.
The small boy responded by gripping Spain's fingers a little in his sleep.
Spain smiled and kissed his forehead, "Buenas noches, querido."
He stood up from the side of the bed, and left the room, making sure to turn off the lights as he left. Little Romano's hand was still curled up a little, dreaming of a warm hand to hold.

Spain got back home late, the sky was dark, his house silent.
He quietly walked over to his bedroom, taking off his shoes to make as little noise as possible.
He peeked into his room, a smile forming across his face. Romano was lying in his bed, one arm resting over his face, covering his eyes.
"Siempre me esperas, mi amor. I just wish you wouldn't stay up so late." he said quietly to him as he walked over to the bed.
He lay down next to Romano, trying to snuggle up to him without waking him.
Spain placed his head carefully next to Romano's, listening to the steady sound of his breathing. He pulled Romano's arm away from his face and placed it gently on to his stomach. He pulled the covers up to cover both their bodies.
Spain sighed into Romano's hair and closed his eyes, his arm moving to hold Romano's hand again as he slept.
Romano opened one of his eyes a little bit, taking a small glance at Spain, who was sleeping soundly next to him.
He gripped his hand a little more before closing his eyes again to join Spain in a deep sleep.
