Together Forever
Gwen's laughter filled the car as Kevin told her a story.
"So, I took the pumpkin, and bit it."
"I can't believe you!" Gwen said trying to catch her breath
"What can I say? I was 5."
Gwen smiled at Kevin then put her head on his shoulder. It took little effort to make Kevin happy now a days. That was one of the little ways.
"Why are we going to the Mr. Smoothy all the way out here?" Gwen asked
"I don't know, I like the drive?"
"Ok, I'll take that as an answer..."
"So..."
"I don't know, you always have something to say."
"That I do, but not now..."
It almost never grew quiet in Kevin's car. But this time Kevin was nervous. He had finally decied to propose to Gwen, he's been waiting for this day since he met up with Ben and her again 10 years ago. He had made special arrangement to propose to her here.
"So, what do you want?" Kevin asked when they got to Mr. Smoothy.
"Ummmm...banana and strawberry."
"Ok, one banana and one banana and strawberry."
A minute later the guy came back with the smoothies.
"Here, you go. Have a nice day!"
Kevin handed Gwen her drink, she took a sip, but it wasn't until she took that sip that Gwen noticed what was on the straw.
"Kevin..." She said, looked down, because he was now on his knee.
"Will you marry me?"
"Of course I will!" Gwen had no second thought, they have been together for 9 years. They went through so much together, not to mention saving the world.
The truth is, there was no one better than Kevin, and there never will be.
