Chapter 1-Midnight gloom

The cold night air bit at my ears, hungrily snapping away every ounce of warmth leaving the numb and me uncomfortable. My tail itches with those damn flees, again and my paws are cold and wet on the hard ground. It does not help that my claws are making the most obvious clicking noise along the road, but I must do this, I can't bear the thought of it, it's just too painful yet I can't get it out of my head. No one's about, I can run! The soft clicking becomes the tapping of the fast speed of my heart. Must get there before...
A bright green flash followed by a woman's scream sliced the coolness of the night air, leaving me daunted I'm ashamed to say that my tail started to go between my legs. There was another awful bright green flash that illuminated the puddles on the streets, leaving nothing but the whimper of a baby. A man in a dark cloak emerged from their house holding a... a, shrivelled up baby, as far as I could tell. No matter, I slinked through the shadows to the front door but before revealing myself, I made sure the cloaked men were gone. With no sign of them I snuck into the house, pushing the front door with my nose. There, lying on the stairs was James, his glasses broken and askew. Lily lay next to him, her bright green eyes forever staring at the roof, her wand was out and now her neck is broken. But amongst the devastating losses, lay an infant, an infant with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. Harry Potter. My heart raced for a moment as I began to bid farewell to the whole potter family until Harry moved, he turned in his mother's arms, and the last of the Potters is alive.
There is still hope. I left quickly, following to the streets with my paws clicking again. I stood still, my heart stopped; panic filled my soul, a man, a death eater stood before me with wand out.
