" 'Till now I always got by on my own,
I never really cared until I met you.
And now it chills me to the bone,
How do I get you alone?
How do I get you alone?"
A dark shadow flitted from tree to tree. That's all he was a shadow.
Shadows needed nobody.
Nobody at all.
He spent so much time convincing himself that he did not care, but he knew it was a lie.
Shunned at birth.
Shunned as a child.
Spitefully the small apparition thought how the humans should fear him. Everyone should fear him. He wanted nothing more than to turn on them, unleashing a terrible display of his awesome power upon their poor feeble bodies.
With a rush of wind he vanished.
The fire demon sprung, virtually invisible, from tree to tree. He went past building after building, everything just a blur to him, but to one other boy, the Jagan master did not go un-noticed.
He wouldn't admit it. He couldn't admit it. Kurama was only a friend. Nothing more. He didn't need him. Not now. Not ever.
Hiei finally touched down. Slightly out of breath, he fell over and stared up at the slowly darkening sky. "Kisama!" He muttered slamming his fist into the grass next to him. He sat up as he sudden became aware of a presence behind him. He drew his katana and turned around jumping to his feet, eager for a battle and the chance to let off some steam. But his chance never came. Hiei stared at his katana which now had a thin green whip wrapped around it. Kurama slowly loosed his rose whip from the sword and put it away. "If you want to run somewhere," the fox demon started, "then let me show you something, quick." Kurama grabbed Hiei's arm and began to sprint, not giving the smaller apparition time to protest.
After about 5 minutes of hard sprinting, Kurama let go of Hiei's hand and sat down on the grassy hill, looking at the sky. The sun was setting. Green eyes were fixed on the blaze of color, but crimson eyes were focused elsewhere.
Hiei couldn't take his eyes off his friend.
The sun completely vanished behind a distant hill, leaving the sky dark and a full moon shinning brightly in it's place.
"So," started Kurama, turning towards Hiei, "did you like it?" Kurama blinked a few times, Hiei had never looked so amazing; The moon shining behind him.
"No." Hiei said shortly. "I didn't."
Kurama looked taken aback.
"Why don't you understand?" Hiei leaned in and kissed Kurama briefly, "I'd much rather look at you."
