"Where am I?" I asked as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and stretched. As soon as my eyes flickered open I knew something was wrong. "No… It… can't be…" I looked around. I peered out my window to find a panting sun. A little farther down in the distance was a coffee shop and even lower than that was a little purple cat wearing a big black hat. "Oh… my god… what's going on?" I pinched myself hard. It hurt… bad.

"Well, I'm not sitting here all day…" I got out of bed and looked around the small apartment I was in. I found a closet and opened it to find dresses, socks, belts, ribbons and other various objects every closet tends to have. I looked through it and dug out a black skirt, grey knee socks, black flats, a red collared shirt, and a black vest.

I got dressed and walked into the bathroom. I jumped when I saw my hair. It was black with brown bangs and cut into weird layers, the longest two stretched to my ankles, the next longest to my knees, and the shortest at my jaw bone. "KIDDO? IS THERE A KIDDO MASSACRE HERE!" came a voice from my front door. I ran to it and looked through the peep hole. It was Lord Death and Spirit. I opened the door slowly.

"Hello?" I said in my soft tone.

"Hello there! How's it hangin'?" asked Lord Death. "I understand this is all a huge shock to you an-"
"Not to interrupt sir but wouldn't it be best if we sat and talked with her?" asked Spirit.

"I think that would be best." I smiled. "Please, do come in." I said motioning them in. "Let me put some tea on." I realized how badly this place needed a cleaning. I wonder if anyone lived here before… I put the tea on and walked back to the living room.

"So Kiddo, notice anything different?" asked Lord Death.
"Actually Sir the correct question would've been 'Do you notice how everything's different?'" I said as Lord Death chuckled.

"Well… Normally we don't bring people from other worlds here but we noticed your power… You don't know what that is yet do you?" He asked. I shook my head. "Ok. What I need you to do is focus on your soul and tell me what you see."
"Yes sir." I said and I began to focus. I felt my long hair flow around my face and my soul wavelength got bigger. I fell through colors. Pinks, blues, greens, and grays whooshed past my head. Then when I landed it was on a canvas.

A pencil appeared in my hand and pulled me forward. The pencil drew a pair of gears. After it finished it got cold and the picture shattered and melted. I jumped awake and explained to Lord Death what happened. "Perfect Kiddo, you are the goddess of ice, art, and technology. We brought you here because the people on earth wouldn't understand your gifts. We see greatness in you, child."

"SIR! Class begins in five minutes! I think we should introduce her to Kid. He could help her through the day no problem!" Spirit exclaimed and Lord Death nodded.

"Let's head off the academy then."
"Sir, here…" I said handing him the tea. "This is for you. Thank you very much for this chance."

"No… Thank you"
