[Warning: It's manga-verse, so you probably won't understand if you haven't read the Kabuki-cho war arc!]
Beautiful and strong, beautiful and strong…
Gintoki sighed as he mused over these two qualities. He had them in mind for a while now with no apparent reason. He shook his head to dismiss the annoying thoughts. He knew he had heard the words somewhere already, but he had forgotten the context, as he heard too much rubbish daily, and his mind couldn't memorize each person and dialogue.
"Oh, it's Paako-chan!" Gin clicked his tongue in annoyance. He had found the answer, and made a face that was anything but pleased.
"Agomi?" he asked, a cold question instead of an actual greeting.
"It's Azumi! I haven't seen you around for a while." Answered the red-haired man, while he was caressing his chin as if he needed to defend it.
"It's probably because I avoid that hell where you work" He wasn't lying, that place – the okama bar - gave him the creeps. Not only the transvestites and employees, but the customers too were incredibly gross and scary at that bar. Not to mention the boss…
"Zurako-chan often visits us. You should come too, once in a while. I'm sure the girls there would be impressed." Azumi said in a voice that desperately tried to sound cute and girly, but ended up the opposite, harsh, raspy and manly. Gintoki snorted.
"What girls, eh? Stupid Zura too… " He ruffled his hair in annoyance, trying not to make direct eye contact with the okama in front of him. He was tired and wanted to go home.
"Have you recovered, Paako-chan?" The question came out of the blue. Oh, it's been a month already, thought Gin.
"Aye, kinda." Actually, he hadn't been able to leave the house for two weeks after that incident, and he rather stayed home when he could. This was actually the first time he left for his own fun, but he didn't even enjoy it, damn it.
"I … knew you would make it." Azumi told him sincerely.
"Oi, oi… why are you being sentimental all over me? I'm not into okamas, just so you know" A pinky finger found its way to one nostril on the apparently bored face.
"No I didn't mean anything like that. But I knew that the Yorozuya would do anything to make peace in Kabuki-cho."
"Sounds nice… even though you still teamed up with the demonic beast against us." Azumi flinched when he heard contempt in the silver haired man's voice.
"N-no! I tried to convince Mama that you weren't a bad person and th-" he started to explain everything desperately, but stopped when Gin passed him, clearly ignoring what he wanted to say.
"Just kidding. See ya, Agomi." With his head held up high, he didn't look back. He only raised his right hand, waving in his usual manner.
"It's Azumi."
A/N: So that's it. Can't wait for this arc to be animated! Please review and tell me what did you think! :)
And of ourse, I don't own Gintama.
