He didn't come back.

A girl hides in the thick underbrush of the green trees in the woods, waiting for a someone. Someone who would never return. But she didn't know that. So she waited.

Something burst through the trees. Dark brown, about twelve feet high, destroying everything in sight. It seemed as if two things were protruding from it's head...horns? It was hard to determine what it was; the dark moonlight did little to help see into the dark. She'd tripped, falling backward and landing on the ground near arm twisted, scraping against the skin; it hurt to move. Blood pooled down from it, dripping onto the ground.

Grimacing through the pain, she tried to retreat further into the tree she hid under, grass scratching her bare back through her torn clothes. Where was he? He promised. He couldn't break it, not now!

"Adara!" He shouted to her from across the trees. In his hand was a knife..a dagger. It glowed bronze in the silver moonlight, making a bright contrast, she wondered where he got it. The monster growled, turning from Andora to Destin. Standing up and wielding his dagger before him, he yelled, "Adara, run! Now!"

She could see how light it was getting outside. How long had it been since she'd been pushed down here? Her arm was still bleeding, she noticed. Tearing off some cloth from her shirt, she used it to staunch the blood flow. Her stomach wound had gotten worse, but it had stopped bleeding. Maybe if she thought hard enough, he'd appear. But Adara knew it was too good to be true.

Destin took a look at the charging Minotaur, then ran towards her. Andora could see the wicked blade he was holding glinting in the moonlight. When he came close enough, Destin pushed her down underneath the tree." Stay here until I tell you it's safe. I'll come back to get you," he whispered in her ear.

Adara wondered if he was telling the truth. How soon would it take for him to come? Was he hurt? She forced the thought out of her mind. It couldn't be. It couldn't. He had to be safe.

Destin turned and was about to attack, but she grabbed his sleeve. " You promise? Do you promise you'll come back?'' Destin nodded his head. "I'll come back. I promise," he repeated. Adara relaxed and nodded, leaning back against the tree. He turned, and the Minotaur caught sight of him, charging towards him. He ran, deeper into the forest, the Minotaur trailing behind him.
