A really short one-shot. I usually don't write such short ones, but I was inspired, so I just popped it out. Lol, hope you enjoy it. And reviews always make me happy. And don't you want to be responsible for making me happy? :D
Oh, and everything related to Inception belongs to the brilliant Christopher Nolan.
The small top spinning upon the table leaned to the side, looking like it would fall over. But it defied gravity and straightened up. With everything that the top represents weighing down upon it, it seems like the top shouldn't be able to stand at all.
The sacrifices Cobb's colleagues made, especially little Ariadne, turning her innocent life to illegal activities. The pain of losing Mal, and even worse, the pain of being haunted by her. The time Cobb missed watching his children growing up. The fear of never seeing them again.
With everything depending on whether the top falls or not, you'd think Cobb would never rip his eyes away. But he does, and with good reason, for his children were running towards him.
The blue eyes, the blonde hair, the beautiful laughter. Everything about his children was more perfect than he ever remembered. He had missed them growing up over the last two years, but he'd never be away from them again. He ran outside to meet them as they ran to greet him. He was back with his family.
He never saw the top continue spinning. And spinning and spinning and spinning. Cobb was still dreaming. The top would never stop spinning. And Cobb didn't care.
