With the Clawthornes, Gwen and Dell shared a sad look as Luz was silently crying the entire way back home. She hadn't said anything after meeting Eda and King, so distraught from her only hope of getting home literally going up in smoke. They landed and Gwen looked at Luz.

"Don't worry, Sweetie, this won't stop us. Like I said, you came through a leak, which means if we can find another, we can get you home." Gwen said.

"Yes, there's no reason to be sad." Dell said, "From what we have seen, you're a strong, powerful, predator, and I'm sure your mother is fine, if she's anything like you."

Luz smiled a little.

"She's more than I am." Luz said, "She's the strongest panther in our town."

"Then I wouldn't worry." Gwen said, "She probably showed that creep what an angry mom looks like."

"Speaking of angry mothers, I think we should get to work, it is dinner with Lilith tonight." Dell said.

"Dell, you know she doesn't like being called a mother." Gwen said, trying, and failing, to suppress her smirk.

"That student of hers tends to follow her around like a lost duckling, she's more of a mother than that girl's actual mother." Dell said.

"Girl? What girl? And who's Lilith?" Luz asked them.

"Oh, our apologies Luz. Lilith is our oldest daughter and the girl we're talking about is her student, Amity." Gwen said to Luz.

"We like to have dinner once a month and tonight is that night." Gwen said, "Oh, I'm sure Lilith is going to love you!"

'Though, she might not like that Lilith works for the Emperor.' Gwen thought as as they walked into the house.

"And who knows? Maybe you'll make friends with Amity." Dell added.

"Maybe." Luz said, "But, I wasn't exactly popular in the Human Realm, most people consider me to be... different."

"Different how?"

"Well, like I said, my mom and I are the only known Black Panther Spirit Animals, which means people typically associate us as too high up in the social order to interact with."

"So, they thought you would be stuck up and snooty?" Gwen asked.

"Yeah." Luz said sadly. "I either could not make friends naturally or they just lied to use my social status. I've never really had friends before. Then there's a small part of the population that think Black Panthers are bad luck."

"Why is that? I think that a beast with such a beautiful coat would be good luck." Gwen said to her.

"Yeah, well, some people are superstitious." Luz said.

"Well, you don't have to worry about it here, you're you and that's all that matters." Dell said with a smile, "Now, go get cleaned up a little."

Luz nodded as she headed upstairs to shower and possibly change if they had anymore clothes in her size. Gwen knew that she would need to take that girl shopping, since she would be here for the foreseeable future, but that would be a problem for tomorrow. She didn't want her to be overloaded by everything. For now, just dinner and meeting Lilith and Amity. Gwen and Dell spent the next hour cooking dinner.

"So... do I look okay?" Luz asked, walking into kitchen.

Gwen and Dell look at her and see her in Eda's old yellow dress, with her hair combed to cover Luz's ears and go down to her cheeks.

"You look perfect." Dell said.

"Absolutely beautiful." Gwen said with a smile.

'She looks just like Edalyn when she was her age.' Gwen thought.

Luz smiled, she doesn't wear dresses very often, but she felt like this would be a nice thing to wear tonight, and just in time, as a staff landed outside with two people on it. A doorbell rang as Dell and Gwen smiled at this.

"Oh, that's them. I'll get the door. Luz, could you and Dell set up the table?" Gwen asked her.

"With pleasure, Gwen." Luz said with a smile.

'Such a polite young lady.' Gwen thought.

She opened the door.

"Sweet Flea, it's so great to see you." Gwen said, "And Little Amity, you've gotten so big since I last saw you."

Amity smiled at Gwen, she always acted like a grandmother around her.

"It was only a month ago, Mrs. Clawthorne." Amity said.

"A month too long if you ask me." Gwen said as she gave them both a hug. "Oh, I wish you both could visit at least twice a month."

"Unfortunately, life doesn't want that to happen." Lilith said.

Lilith still smiled as she and Amity hugged her back before they were let into the house.

"Yes, I know. Life doesn't always work the way you want it but it can lead to some good things. Like helping someone in need." Gwen said with a smile.

"I assume you speak from experience?" Lilith asked.

"Indeed." Gwen said, "I found... a human girl, hurt and scared."

Amity and Lilith stopped at this, looking at Gwen in surprise as she continued to walk to the dining room.

"Mother, when was this?" Lilith asked as she and Amity came out of their shock and quickly walked after her.

"2 days ago. She's actually here in fact." Gwen said to them.

"Why is she here?" Lilith asked, "Shouldn't you send her home or something?"

"I know and we tried but it seems the Titan wasn't on our side. Edalyn said to avoid capture and prevent Belos from getting it, she had to destroy the portal." Gwen said.

Lilith was surprised, why did she not know of this!? She was the head of the Emperor's Coven, all missions are to be reported to her before execution unless Belos went over her head to keep it a secret?!

"T-Then where is the human now?" Lilith asked as she, Amity, and Gwen entered the dining room.

"She's here, with us." Gwen said as she stopped, gesturing to Luz as she and Dell finished setting up the table. "Lilith, Amity, meet Luz Noceda."

Luz gave a polite wave.

"H-h-hi."

Lilith and Amity looked her over and couldn't really see that she was different from any other witch, most likely because her hair was covering her ears. Lilith also noticed that she was wearing her little sister's old dress. Lilith went over to her and looked over her.

"Hmm, I've never seen a human before, such an interesting creature." Lilith said, "So... small... and helpless."

Gwen cleared her throat.

"Sweet Flea, leave her alone, she's been through a lot." Gwen said, "Besides... it's time for dinner."
