At the dinner table, they all sat down to eat, with Amity looking at Luz, interested in the new creature. She had heard rumors that humans had rounds ears and couldn't do magic like witches, she wondered if they were ever true. Maybe this could be her chance.

"Um, Luz was it?" Amity asked from across the table.

"Yes, that's it. Do you need anything, Amity?" Luz asked politely.

"I was just wondering... could... could I see your ears?" Amity asked.

Luz thought it was weird, but it was far better than some requests she's received. She moved her hair out of the way and showed Amity an ear. Just the rumors, Luz's ear was round, and they were also pierced just like hers.

"Wow, I've never seen round ears before." Amity said.

"Yes, they're more…..cute than I imagined." Lilith said, mentally adding this to the "small and helpless" image she constructed for Luz.

"I'm not as cute as you think." Luz said as she put her hair back over her ear, "I'm vicious."

"Yes... like a kitten." Lilith said.

Gwen couldn't help but cover a chuckle with a cough, Lilith didn't know how close she was.

"Sorry, it's just a bit dry." Gwen said, trying to make her cough seem normal, "Anyway, let's dig in. Luz, I feel like you'll enjoy this, it's a very delicious type of bird just north of this place."

"Oooh, sounds delicious. What is it called?" Luz asked with a smile.

"It's called a Giant Hen." Gwen said, taking the cover off the giant bird.

Luz looked at the size of the cooked bird, it was bigger than three ostriches.

"Fitting name." Luz said.

"We know and when seasoned just right, it is the most delicious bird you've ever eaten. So much that you can't help but get a second or third helping." Dell said with a nod.

"Well, then now I REALLY have to try it." Luz said as she kicked her lips, eyeing it like a predator.

"We know, which is why we fully expect you to eat it quickly." Gwen said.

"Quickly?" Lilith asked.

"Quickly." Gwen and Dell said before Gwen used her magic to give everyone a portion of the Giant Hen, with Luz receiving a large portion than everyone else.

"Dinner is served." Gwen said with a smile.

Luz immediately embraced her inner predator, devouring the meat like it was nothing. Amity and Lilith looked at her in shock.

"Are all humans like that?" Amity asked.

"No... only a specific type." Luz said.

"Specific type?" Amity asked, a little confused yet interested.

"Could you be more specific?" Lilith asked, also interested.

"There are people in the Human World that prefer eating plants over meat, as you can see... I'm not one of them." Luz said.

"Really? We have people like that here too." Lilith said.

'Yeah, but they are FAR from being the same as mine.' Luz thought.

"So, Luz." Gwen said, "Since you'll be here for the foreseeable future, I've decided that, in a few weeks, we'll be signing you up for school."

Lilith stifled a laugh, but only a little bit, enough came out that she caught everyone's attention.

"Is something funny, Lilith?" Gwen asked.

"No, it's just... she's Human, she wouldn't survive school here. She's frail." Lilith said, "Not to mention that she doesn't have any magical abilities."

Gwen narrowed her eyes.

"I will have you know; she could go toe to toe against any witch." Gwen said.

"Oh, really?" Lilith asked.

'Oh no.' Luz thought, having a feeling about where this is heading.

Amity was having a similar thought.

"Why don't we see if that's true then." Lilith said, "The Human versus Amity."

"What?" Luz and Amity asked in surprise, looking at Lilith!

"Ms. Lilith, you can't be serious!" Amity said to her.

"Why not? It's just a simple duel, children do them all the time." Lilith said.

Luz knew they didn't do that in her dimension.

"But she's a human, it wouldn't be fair." Amity said to her.

"Actually, humans are more than meets the eyes. Or eye in my case." Dell said with his one good eye open.

Lilith facepalmed.

"Dad, did you seriously just-"

"Yes, yes I did." Dell said.

"You know what... I'm in." Luz said, "I'll have a friendly battle with Amity."

"Are you sure? I don't want to hurt you." Amity said with caution.

"I'll be fine, trust me." Luz said with her hand waving.

"Good, then lets go to the backyard and begin." Lilith said.

"Now? But dinner has barely begun." Dell said to her.

"Then if you and mother are so confident about the human, it will be done quickly before the food gets cold." Lilith said as she stood up.

Amity and Luz got up and headed to the backyard. Luz saw a single tree and smiled. That's exactly what she needed. If she could get the chance to sneak up there, she can lure Amity and pounce on her. She's win this in less than a thirty seconds just by surprising Amity.

"Alright, the rules are simple. No lethal attack, no cheating, and no foul language. The first one to admit defeat or be unable to continue, loses." Lilith said with her hand up. "Ready?"

Luz and Amity were on opposite sides of the yard.

"Ready." They said.

"Begin!" Lilith said.

Amity made a spell circle.

"Abomination, rise!"

Suddenly, a golem of purple mud formed in front of Amity. Much taller than her and groaning like a zombie but Luz wasn't scared of it, just surprised.

"Wow, what magic is this?" Luz asked.

"Abomination magic, one of the main nine and very useful. Abomination, seize." Amity said as she pointed to Luz.

The Abomination reached its massive arm at Luz. Luz just smiled. The Abomination grabbed Luz, or rather... it looked like it did. The Abomination opened its hand and there was nothing there.

"What?" Amity said, running over to where Luz was just standing, "Where did she go?"

Everyone heard a low growl and looked at the tree. Crouching on one of the branches was Luz as her Spirit Animal. Amity has never seen such a creature and screamed as Luz jumped down and landed on her. The creature opened its mouth and... started licking her.

"Ha hahahaha!" Amity said, "Stop, that tickles!"

Suddenly the licking stops and Amity felt a hand on her head. She opened her eyes and saw Luz kneeling over her with a smile.

"I win." Luz said.

Amity let out a small peep in surprise, seeing Luz suddenly reappear before her while that large creature was now gone! How could that be…unless-

"H-How did you do that?" Amity asked as she leaned up.

"Did what?" Luz asked, feigning ignorance.

"How did you turn into that large, black creature?" Amity asked as Lilith, Gwen, and Dell came over to them.

Lilith was just as shocked as Amity, not even taking her eyes off of Luz.

"Like I said, I'm vicious." Luz said, "I'm a vicious Predator."

"But that makes no sense! You don't have magic, so how did you do that?" Amity asked as she got up, her curiosity killing her.

"You really don't know a thing about humans, do you?" Luz asked, "We may not have magic, but we aren't powerless."

"How?" Lilith asked, wondering and amazed.

"If it's alright, I believe I can explain it." Gwen said with her hand up. "From what Luz has told us, humans have these "spirit animals" within them that allow them to turn them."

"Spirit Animals?" Amity and Lilith asked.

"An animal that resides within me and I can become if I want to." Luz said, "All humans have them."

"So, human do have magic?" Amity asked.

"Well, we never thought of it like that surprisingly, but yeah. I guess we do." Luz said to her.

"And that creature you turned into? What was it?" Lilith asked.

"The rarest of the rare, a black panther." Luz said to her, "A dangerous apex predator in the Human World."

"A predator that can be so cute when she wants to." Gwen said with a giggle. "You did just lick Amity cutely."

"Well, I didn't want to bite down on the back of the head." Luz said, "This was supposed to be a friendly duel."

"We know but still." Dell said with a small chuckle.

"Well, I believe we should be getting back to dinner, don't want it to get cold." Gwen said, "Because then it will come back to life."

"It what?" Luz asked in surprise. "Even after we all ate parts of it?"

"Yes, even after that. Now come along, we must hurry." Gwen said as she began walking back with Dell.

After dinner, Amity and Lilith said goodbye and left the three alone.

"So, I think it's best if we go shopping tomorrow." Gwen said, "I can't have you running around in the same tattered hoodie everyday."

"And don't try to say you'll continue to wear Edalyn and Lilith's old clothing. You need your own wardrobe." Dell said to her.

Luz just nodded, knowing there's no point in arguing.

"Do I at least get to pick some of my clothes?" Luz asked them.

"Of course, dear. We don't know your tastes outside of your food." Gwen said with a smile.

"Now, go get some sleep." Gwen said, "It's been a long day."
