The next day, Eda, still in the chair, was woken up by Hooty.

"Eda, you have a guest."

"Huh?" Eda asked, waking up from her slumber.

Rubbing her eyes a bit, Eda looked up to see Hooty in his backpack house and King on the shoulders of her father.

"Dad?" Eda asked.

"Hello, Pumpkin... it's been a while." Dell said.

Eda's eyes moved down to the black log in his hand.

"Yeah….." Eda said as she got up, pointing towards the log. "And is that for Luz?"

"Yes, is she alright? I was worried when she didn't come back to the house for her friends." Dell said as he took off Hooty's birdhouse pack and set him in the ground with King.

"She's..." Eda looked at Luz, still sleeping, "Sleeping."

The trio looked to Luz, seeing the burn scars on her body while she rested easily at the moment. They were mostly worried but glad she was alright, they assumed she couldn't save Eda without injury but not this much.

"Is she gonna wake up soon?" King asked, moving closer to Luz.

"Hopefully." Eda said.

"Oh, hoot. I wish we could've been there to help in someway, Hoot." Hooty said as he hops to the door, putting it back in place and stretching himself back inside.

"This girl is an enigma." Eda said, "I... I swear I saw her become some kind of... giant black cat!"

"Yes, Luz calls it a "spirit animal." Apparently, all humans have them." Dell said as he walked to Luz, setting the black log by her.

"Okay, she didn't think to mention that!?" Eda said.

"She probably couldn't trust you yet or had no choice in the moment to save you. She hasn't told you about her mother, did she?" Dell asked, rubbing Luz's head with care.

Eda looked down.

"She has."

'Grom was more informative than I'd like to admit.' Eda thought, remembering Luz's fear before she ran.

"Take care of her, Eda." Dell said, "This girl is special."

"I know, dad. She risked her life to save me, how could I not look out for her?" Eda asked.

Getting up and stretching a bit, her injuries still present but not as bothersome. So, they didn't bother her as much as she began cleaning and fixing up her house while King kept an eye on Luz. As Eda was cleaning, she heard a knock on the door. She went over and saw Willow and Gus.

"Hi, is... Luz here?" Willow asked.

"She's... sleeping." Eda said.

"Oh, well, when she wakes up, can you tell her to meet us at the market?" Gus asked, "We were planning on hanging out and wondered if she wanted to join."

"Yeah... yeah, I'll tell her." Eda said, closing the door.
