After they manage to form a begrudging friendship, they continue to test each other until an event pushes them both past their limit.

An Irken Vessel, the Extractor 750 was mysteriously shot down and crashed into an Asteroid Belt surrounding the dead planet, Murion 5. Worse is that the asteroid belt itself is a ship graveyard.
