"Uhh... Where am I?" Ash groaned as he got up. He then noticed Pikachu was sleeping on his shoulders.

But he was not expecting a blue furball sleeping peacefully on his body. He lifted the mysterious pokémon to see it in the darkness. "Riolu!?"

Indeed, Lucario's previous evolution was sleeping soundly. It was odd, because he had thought Lucario would be sent back as Lucario.

Then he remembered everything what happened. Dialga had sent him back in time, when he was to start his journey. He glanced at the digital signboard in the room.

Delacore Islands to Kanto : Estimated Time 6:30 AM

[Oh Ash, I'm glad I found you!] a voice squeaked.

Ash gave a yelp. He recognized Celebi. She sighed a breath of relief [Thank Arceus, I put a time freeze, because that yelp would have woken up everyone.]

"You can freeze time!?" Ash exclaimed "That's so cool!"

[Uh, no] Celebi denied. [Arceus gave me these powers for the time being.]

Ash was confused "How did you even ask Arceus? He's..."

[I just told Arceus, Mew, Dialga and Palkia in this time line about our supposed 'mission'] Celebi answered, waving her hands to quote. [They would have already sensed my presence, but I thought to inform before anyone confronted me about it. Anyways, I explained the situation, Dialga was angry that his future self would do such a thing, Palkia as usual enjoyed seeing an annoyed Dialga. Sometimes I wonder how Arceus stand their arguments. Arceus was obviously concerned, and granted me those powers. Dialga was sulking as usual, complaining about how he was the only one entitled for Chrono Powers. Arceus's glare fixed that though.]

Ash nodded, who was still confused. Pikachu gave a yawn and woke up. He was startled seeing Ash with Celebi. Then he remembered the future events. "Pikapi?" {Ash?}

"Oh hey Pikachu." Ash greeted "Glad to see you're back too. Although I can't say about Lucario..."

Pikachu then noticed Riolu sleeping peacefully above Ash's lap. Ash patted his head "Hey Riol... Lucario wake up! You have to see this."

"Rio?" {What?} Riolu gave a yawn. "Ri olu olu Rio" {Just let me sleep}

"Lucario, it's about you." Ash gently told him. Riolu got up and stretched both of his hands. "Olu?" {Yeah?}

Then he noticed the wrongness with his squeaky voice "Olu? Riolu!?" {What!? What happened to my voice!?}

Celebi explained [I think something went wrong in the process, or this was one of Mew's practical jokes. Hard to tell.]

Riolu then checked out his smaller body. Then began sobbing, with two waterfalls leaking out of his eyes. Ash felt bad for him, so he patted him in an assuring way "Hey bud, don't worry. If you could evolve into Lucario earlier, then you can evolve again in the future." Ash then paused "Wow, that already sounds wierd. You evolving in the future technically, and again evolving in future. Man, my head hurts thinking about this."

Riolu calmed down a bit, but not so much. Pikachu started talking with him enthusiastically. Celebi, seeing it as a chance started talking [About Mew not telling anyone about your situation, I think it would be best if you told Professor Oak.]

"Why him?" Ash asked intrigued about Celebi's decision. Although Professor Oak was great and all, he had thought about telling his mom or maybe Brock.

Celebi answered mysteriously [Oh, you'll see soon. Just meet Professor Oak alone.]

"Oh, alright." Ash said. "I can't wait to reach Pallet Town."

Celebi started again [Ash, perhaps, it would be best if you take some of your old pokémon in Kalos. It will help a lot.]

Ash nodded "Yeah, I was already planning that. After my battle with Paul before the Master's tournament, I figured out it was kind of unfair for some of my pokémon to continously live in the ranch."

[Good.] Celebi said. [Besides, you are back in time to fix things.]

"Yeah..." Ash sighed "I really have to apologize to them."

Celebi asked him curiously [How do Pokémon battle though? Just curious.]

Ash and Celebi talked for a long time after that. Finally Ash yawned and said "I'm feeling sleepy now. Good chat though."

[Yeah... It's been ages I have talked so freely.] Celebi then purred before saying [Alright, I have to go. I'll see you later Ash.]

"Bye." Ash said and Celebi disappeared. Suddenly time unfroze again. He pulled out a pokeball. "Riolu, since you were not a part of my team in this time line, welcome to family again."

Riolu saw the pokeball and tapped the button and got sucked in. The ball clicked indicating Ash had caught a Riolu.

Riolu came out again. Ash was mentally thanking his past self's stupidness now. "Man, am I glad that my past self sent all my Unovan pokemon to the ranch except Pikachu and Charizard. Although I would have to explain to Professor Oak. I wonder why Celebi was insistent on it."

And now he had to do what he was bad at doing. Waiting. And by waiting, he plopped back on the bed and started snoring soundly.

"Best Wishes Ash! I hope you fulfill your dreams!" Cilan waved. Iris's eyes were moist "Even though you were a kid, I still loved every adventure."

Then she grew determined "Watch out Ash, I will become the greatest Dragon Master ever!"

Ash smiled too "Yeah, and I will work upon being a Pokémon Master!"

Iris smiled "Yeah... I will miss you."

Ash smiled sadly "Don't worry, I'm sure we will meet in the future again."

Alexa was silently smiling at such friendship. Moments like these made her lament that they could not be simply captured in a photograph or a report.

For Ash, it was even more depressing. Saying goodbye once was hard, but he never imagined saying it again would be even harder.

"Come on Alexa, we need to head to Pallet Town." Ash said, turning away from the train that separated Ash, Cilan and Iris.

Alexa nodded. She understood Ash was still unhappy about parting ways. It was to be expected, parting of great friends was hard for anyone.

They started walking towards the Kanto Bus Terminal in Vermillion city. "So Ash, what other Pokémon of yours can I see in Pallet Town?"

"Oh, my old Pokémon from Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh." Ash answered nonchalantly. "Then I got this new little guy. Say hello to Riolu!"

"Rio!" Riolu, previously Lucario, cried out. Alexa was surprised "Where did you catch Riolu? I didn't see that pokemon with you before."

"Oh... Uh I caught it in Unova after the league. I just didn't show it to anybody because Riolu is extremely shy." Ash said, quickly making a lie.

Alexa nodded, apparently thinking she had not spent enough time with Ash to know everything. Both of them had engaged in a talk, and they didn't notice they arrived to their destination already.

"Man, the time went so fast. Alexa, welcome to Pallet Town!" Ash said brightly.

Alexa smiled. Then she inhaled the Pallet air "The air is cleaner than I ever thought. Even Vaniville Town or Snowbelle City isn't this clean in Kalos."

Ash then started sprinting on the road to his house "Come on Alexa, we're going to my home!"

Alexa laughed seeing Ash's enthusiasm. "Alright alright. Just slow down a little bit, I can't run that fast. Helioptile, come on out and enjoy the scenery!"

Helioptile came out of the pokeball and he settled on her shoulder with a huge smile. "Helioptile!"

Eventually they reached Ash's home "Mom, I'm home!"

Delia came out of the kitchen "Welcome home honey. Welcome to our home Alexa."

Alexa bowed her head a little "Thank you for letting me stay for a bit."

"It's no big deal dear. Ash's friends are always welcome to my home." Delia waved her hand. Ash was bouncing "Hey Mom, can I go meet my Pokémon?"

"Yes Ash, I already knew you were going to do that." Delia said knowingly.

Ash rubbed his nose in embarrassment. Alexa giggled "Ash, I'll interview Professor Oak tomorrow. I'm really tired."

Ash was confused. That didn't happen before, and then someone answered in his mind [Your Welcome. I thought you should meet Sa-Oak and your Pokémon alone.]

Ash immediately knew it was Celebi. "Come on Pikachu, let's go meet the others!"

"Pi pikachu!" {Race you there!} Pikachu cried out, jumping from Ash's shoulders and sprinting out of the house.

"Hey! No fair! I didn't start!" Ash said, running out of the house.

Delia shook her head fondly "That's my Ashy alright."

"Hey Professor Oak! Hey Tracey!" Ash greeted both of them.

Tracey gave a grin "Heya Ash! How's it going?"

Ash answered "Really well!"

Oak smiled kindly "Hello Ash! Here to meet your Pokémon?"

"Yeah." Ash answered, before turning serious "I also need to talk to you."

Oak rarely saw a serious looking Ash, so he knew it was urgent. "Alright Ash. Tracey, can you go feed the Pokémon?"

"Sure thing Professor." Tracey agreed and walked into the ranch.

After Tracey left the room, Ash looked above Professor Oak and said "Celebi, you can come out now!"

Oak's jaw dropped seeing Celebi. Although... It looked kind of familiar.

[Hello Samuel. You may not remember me] Celebi said.

This made Oak even more confused "I'm honoured to meet you Celebi, but have we met before?"

Celebi nodded [Oh we have! You have just forgotten the memories. Here let me show you. Mew taught me this handy trick.]

Celebi's eyes glowed green and suddenly like a flip being switched, both Ash and Professor started seeing memories.

Ash gasped "No way! You're Sam! The boy who accidentally time travelled with Celebi! I should have made the connection!"

Professor Oak had never been shocked so much. His voice was shaking "I met Ash that day. Wow... I never thought the boy with a cap was Ash all along..."

"Huh? What do you mean Professor?" Ash asked.

Oak started explaining "All this time I had a vague memory of a boy with a red cap being my inspiration. I never thought it would be you..."

"Oh... You don't remember Pikachu?" Ash asked curiously. Pikachu was pouting because he should have been more memorable than his partner. "Pika."

Celebi answered instead [It's incredible that Samuel even remembered you Ash.]

Oak asked the real question now "Celebi, why are you here? More specifically why are you following Ash?"

"Professor," Ash paused before dropping the bombshell "I time travelled... 3 years from the future."

"WHAT!?" Samuel Oak had never been surprised so much. He knew Ash had a lot a lot of crazy adventures in his years, but... TIME TRAVEL!?

Ash started explaining everything about what happened, with Celebi acting as the narrator for legendary Pokémon.

Professor Oak sat down on his seat. "This is really a lot for me to take in." he said rubbing his forehead. "Especially since I have recently checked his Unova Pokédex entries."

Celebi then said [Yeah, Ash does tend to forget a lot.]

"I do not!" Ash sputtered out. Celebi smirked [Oh really? Did you check your Z-ring and Mega Stones as Mew instructed?]

Ash then paused. Then started blushing embarrassment "I... Forgot. But I'll check right now!" He added the last sentence in a hurry.

Ash started fumbling around his bag, and sure enough there was his evolved Z-ring, his Riolu's (Might as well call him that) Lucarionite, and his Mega-glove containing the Keystone.

"Oh right, Pikachu and Lucario came back in the past with me, but with one complication. Riolu, come on out!" Ash said throwing his pokeball.

Riolu came out of the pokeball giving a cry of "Olu!"

Oak blinked. Ash then explained "When I time travelled here, Lucario reverted back to his pre-evolution. I don't know why though. My Lucario could mega-evolve too."

Oak nodded, a bit proud for Ash getting Mega-evolution. Those were a temporary evolution for the most strongest Pokémon.

Then Oak suddenly had an idea "Ash, if you would like... I can raise your Pokémon carrying limit upto 9 Pokémon."

"9 Pokémon?" Ash asked "That's possible?" Oak nodded "Of course, Regional Champions and a few trainers have the permit to carry upto 12 Pokémon. I cannot do that right now but 9 is the most I can for now."

Ash eyes shined in gratitude "Alright, thanks for everything Professor. I'll take my old Pokémon this time with me in Kalos. And please, don't tell anybody about me time travelling."

Oak put his fist on his heart "You got it Ash. I'll also be sure to help you if you need it. Just don't be shy."

Ash then walked out of the room, eager to meet the rest of his Pokémon.

He was greeted by Bulbasaur, who gave a happy cry of "Bulba!"

"Hey Bulbasaur! How are you and everyone!?" Ash greeted back his veteran grass pokemon.

Pikachu was already playing with some of the local pokemon in the ranch. He asked Bulbasaur then "Hey Bulbasaur, can you call everyone, including the Unova team?"

Bulbasaur nodded, charging up his Solar Beam. Ash then pulled 2 of his Pokeballs. The first one that came out was the fire lizard Pokémon, Charizard.

He was twice as huge as a Snorlax, and gave a mighty roar. Then proceeded to burn Ash in the face. "Your... Flamethrower... Looks strong... As always..." and Ash blew off some smoke of his face.

The second pokemon that came out looked really angry. It was Ash's Riolu, which was previously a Lucario.

To Ash's surprise, it charged up an Aura Sphere instead of Vacuum Wave, and threw it directly on Charizard's face. Charizard, when hit by it, faced Riolu and gave one of his scary faces, but Riolu looked directly at his eyes defiantly.

Charizard then prepared his flamethrower-

"That's enough! Stand back Charizard! Riolu, that's Charizard's way of greeting me!" Ash intervened the fight.

Charizard snorted some smoke, and Riolu relaxed from his stance slightly. Ash sighed.

An earthquake followed, and Ash knew what it was. In the front was Bayleef, followed by other Pokémon, and they were all rushing to him.

Then Ash got hugged, trampled upon, snuggled, embraced, crushed, burned, bitten, and frozen.

"Hey... Guys..." Ash said dizzily. He got up slowly and he swore he heard a voice giggling in his head.

"Guys, I have something important to tell you." Ash said, his serious face on.

All of his pokemon turned serious at that moment. Charizard stopped his flexing in front of Sceptile, who had remained indifferent.

"Look, I'm not going to extend this conversation. We lost. We lost hard in Unova." Ash said. There was a silence before Ash continued "But, before this one, we did a lot better in Sinnoh. So what did we do different?" All of his Pokémon remained silent before Heracross stepped forward and said "Hera Hera Cross" {You gave us a chance in the league.}

Ash nodded at him. "Correct. That's why..." His Pokémon leaned forward in anticipation "We are going to journey to Kalos! My raise limit has been upped to 9, so you guys will be journeying with me again!" he finished with an exclaim.

All of his Pokémon cheered, clearly excited at the prospect of journeying again. Then Ash continued "I will be taking some of you guys," and his pokemon grew sad "But I will be rotating regularly. You will help me train my new pokemon I get in Kalos. So are you with me?"

His Pokémon cheered again, no longer sad, and happy on getting a chance. Ash then said "I will be taking one strong pokemon as a precaution. Staraptor will be traveling with me for some days in Kalos, then I will switch with some of my other powerful Pokémon. I will also take Riolu, because he's one of my new pokemon. Snivy and Quilava, you guys will come with me because you two have a lot of potential. For others, I will bring you back to the journey, don't worry."

Quilava raised its snouted in the sky and released a flamethrower in happiness. Snivy crossed her arms, but nonetheless, she was quite clearly happy to be included again.

Others like Oshawott were sad, but understood they were going to be used too.

Many looked curiously at Riolu. Buizel came forward and assessed him. Ash sweatdropped seeing the behavior. Then Buizel taunted Riolu, like he wanted to fight.

"You want to fight him, huh? Alright, Riolu, let's do it!" Ash said.

Riolu took a battle stance "Rio!!"

Buizel charged forward covered in water, using Aqua Jet. "Riolu, use um, Double Team! Then Force Palm!"

Riolu created copies of itself then they all charged with fist glowing. Buizel swiftly dodged it then charged a Hydro Pump.

"Riolu, stop that Hydro Pump with Aura Sphere!"

"Rio!" Riolu threw a blue aura ball. The ball flew right through the torrent of water and hit Buizel squarely.

"Bui... Zel!" Buizel concentrated and threw a Water Pulse.

Riolu got hit, but stood back up again. Ash was thinking, because he was certain he felt something in Water Pulse. Buizel, noting the lack of orders from Ash, charged another Water Pulse straight at Riolu.

"That's it! That's what I was feeling! Riolu, charge up your Aura Sphere and absorb the Water Pulse! Use Hydro Aura Sphere!" Ash commanded.

Buizel was caught off guard, but smirked seeing that his trainer hadn't lost his unusual tactics. He didn't attack again as he was interested to see the results.

Riolu charged a ball of Aura Sphere and Water Pulse collided with it, making it larger. It gained a more ocean blue color, and Riolu launched it at Buizel.

Before Buizel could get hit, Ash tried something that Riley had taught him. The Aura Shield.

It was a pretty unique move used by Aura Guardian to protect themselves against most projectiles and moves. Lucario could also be taught to do that with intense practice, but it was purely a human aura user thing.

Which meant Ash could do it much better than an average Lucario. The Aura Shield held against the Hydro Aura Sphere, and Buizel wasn't hit.

His Pokémon was dumbfounded by what Ash did. Ash smirked "It's really cool, isn't it?"

Buizel was smirking at Riolu and gave a sharp nod at him. Riolu was confused by Buizel's total personality change. Ash laughed "Oh don't worry Riolu, it's just Buizel checking if you're worthy of me or not."

Riolu huffed. He was plentiful worthy of having Ash as his master.

"Bulba bulbasaur?" {What was that Ash?} Bulbasaur asked.

"Oh that, Bulbasaur, is what I call Aura. And what Riolu will be training me much intensely about."

And the next hour was Ash explaining everything to his Pokémon.

"Have you packed everything honey? Your Pokémon you are taking with yourself?" Delia asked.

Ash sighed "Yes Mom, you asked it about a hundred times."

Ash was wearing his old (or technically new) Kalos attire, with Pikachu sitting on his shoulder.

Delia sighed too "Oh, but I can't help but worry about my baby boy."

"Oh come on Mom, I'm 15 for Arceus's sake!" Ash whined.

"Oh hush young man! Don't be too whiny before reaching Kalos."

Alexa piped in "Hey Delia, thank you for everything. I'll see you again."

Delia waved "It's not a problem Alexa dear. You're welcome back anytime. And Ash, be sure to change your-"

Ash face grew red "Oh come on Mom! We gotta go now! Come on Alexa!"

Alexa laughed, but this time she kept up with Ash's running. Delia was smiling. It seemed like yesterday Ash got his first Pokémon, and now he was becoming one of the most strongest trainers.

Meanwhile Ash had one thought in his mind "Kalos, here we come again!"

Whew, I'm really excited for his Kalos Journey recreation.

Here's how I have planned to write.

I will almost always add a few twists to an already existing episode. There will be a few of the episodes skipped because frankly, there can't be too much changed there. I will, however give a brief summary of the said 'missed' episode, before the next chapter. But, I will also be adding a lot of new episodes, which will be completely new ideas, or inspired from some of the Kalos Fanfics I read.

This Ash is also a bit oblivious, but he will notice the signs of Serena crushing on him. It's because Ash has only been kissed once, and we all know how forgetful Ash is. (Ofc, he is forgetful for a different reason altogether)

Because Scarlet and Violet have come out, I will add the new Pokémon from Paldea region in this fic (I really need to pickup Showdown again). I don't really know much about them but hopefully I will be when writing about them. With the Pokémon Anime finally ending, Ash will never get to have a journey in Paldea, but who's to say what Fanfiction writers can't do? *wink*

Pokémon Anime has always been a wild ride for me. I have loved it, adored the cuteness of the Pokémon, laughed at Ash's obliviousness, got angry over his stupidity, cried with him, cheered for his most intense battles (God, his battle with Paul, and his recent battle with Leon is just top notch). It showcased the beautiful bonds between a Pokémon and a human, or more specifically Pikachu and Ash.

To see him going after all these years, is what truly disheartened me. Pokémon Anime had been one show I thought would never ever end with Ash. But now, thinking upon it, Ash has done it. He's going to settle down, marry Serena and have a kid named Liko (You know, the new girl protagonist.

...

I hope so)

Cipherdragonite: Well, it's an obvious given that a lot of movesets will be changed for Ash's Pokémon, as this is technically Ash's second journey through Kalos. Also there is the no 4 move limit, because it makes sense in the games, but it never made sense to me in the anime.

This fanfiction already has 4 chapters in Wattpad, and I'm currently moving the chapter here too, so updates will not be consistent after chapter 4 (Because of my studies).
