"So what did I do first coming here Pikachu?" Ash asked his partner.

Pikachu mentally face-palmed. Sometimes his trainer was just an absolute idiot. "Pi Pika chu pika." {We went to Lumiose Tower where we met Clemont and Bonnie.}

"Thanks Bud, don't know what I'll do without you." Ash thanked him.

"Chu Pika pi." {Probably get lost, forget everything important, lose battles.}

Ash pretended not to hear that. Ash then started sprinting towards the tower, which was easily recognizable from the airport. Alexa had wished him a good luck and left pretty quickly like last time.

According to Serena, he found out that she had followed him after the Lumiose's Garchomp incident. On one hand he was hoping not to recreate it, on other it had to be done to lure (?) Serena.

But he didn't want harm to reach Garchomp... Also Team Rocket had saved him in the future, so he was willing to give them a chance to better themselves. As he was deep in thought, he bumped into somebody.

"Oww!" He cried out in surprise. The person who bumped into him also yelped in surprise. "Oh, I'm sorry I was just not in the right mind." Ash said, looking at the person.

It was Clemont.

"Oh, it's honestly no big deal. People usually are in awe when they visit Lumiose so they don't look where they are going. My name's Clemont." The boy put his hand forward politely.

Ash shook his arm "It's nice to meetcha. My name's Ash and this is my buddy Pikachu!"

"Awe!! It's SO CUTE!" A girly voice shrieked out behind Clemont. She went forward to touch Pikachu.

The boy looked offended "No Bonnie! It's rude to touch other people's Pokémon and that Pikachu can—"

The girl, Bonnie grabbed Pikachu and started petting him "So Cute!"

"—Shock you. Honestly, why do I even bother lecturing you. I'm sorry Ash, my little sister is a little obsessed with cute Pokémon."

Ash shook his head "Oh no, I'm not offended if you are thinking about it. It's honestly not a big deal. Pikachu doesn't mind very much. As much as he is cute, he is as much as dangerous in a battle."

"Oh, so you're a trainer? Are you here to compete in the Kalos League?" Clemont asked. "Yep. I heard it was going to be organised so why not."

Clemont's mouth twitched upward "Well, since you are a trainer, how about a battle?" Ash smirked back him "Sure thing. One vs One?"

Clemont nodded. Bonnie clapped "Ooh, big brother is gonna battle! Go and beat him! You are the strongest Gy—" Clemont clamped his hand on his sister's mouth shutting her up "What she meant- was ah- a Gym Challenger! Yeah that was it!"

Ash stifled a laughter. They both headed towards a battle ground. Standing on the opposite side, Clemont threw his Pokéball. "Go Bunnelby!"

A white light burst and out came a rabbit like pokemon with ears looking like hands. "Bunnelby!" He cried out.

"You ready bud? Go Pikachu!" Pikachu jumped from his shoulder.

There was a tense slience—

"Battle Begin!" Bonnie shouted.

"Use Quick Attack!" Ash shouted.

"Bunnelby, dodge and use Tackle!" Clemont countered.

Pikachu streaked forward in a bluish-white aura and Bunnelby barely managed to dodge it, quickly approaching Pikachu with its own. Pikachu dodged at his own accord.

"Great job Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Ash shouted. Clemont ordered "Sand attack to cancel it!"

Ash smirked. He had learnt from the last battle. "Pikachu, direct that energy to Electroweb!"

"Pika Pika Pika, Chu Pi!" Pikachu cried out, hurling a large web on the battlefield.

"What the—" Clemont started in surprise, before Bunnelby was trapped in the webbing.

"That was an amazing trick Ash! Bunnelby, try using your ears to break out!" Clemont said.

Ash narrowed his eyes, remembering a detail in the battle. "Riolu, use Aura Sphere on Wobbuffet!"

Riolu burst out of his Pokéball, a bluish ball formed in his hands "Rio!"

It sailed forward and knocked out a Wobbuffet, swirls in its eyes. A feminine voice shrieked out "No! This wasn't in the plan!"

Another voice could be heard "What can we do Jessie. The twoip got suspicious of us not appearing soon."

"What was that?" Clemont asked. Ash waved him "Oh its nothing. Just Team Rocket. By the way, we can hear you!"

"Eek!" a manly voice squeaked out in an un-manly way. "We'll be back again!" three voices shouted out.

Clemont blinked "Well, that was something. I guess I can accept defeat. You are really good in tactics."

"Thanks." Ash replied, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "By the way, do you know the way to Professor Sycamore?"

"Yeah. It's close to the Lumiose Tower. Come on, I can lead you there." Clemont said "Come on Bonnie!"

Bonnie nodded her head with a huge smile. They walked on, passing the Lumiose Tower before reaching a familiar building. It was Professor Sycamore's lab.

They entered it and were immediately greeted by two women in lab coats. "Hello, welcome to our Lab! What brings you here?"

"Well, I'm here to meet the Professor. Is he free?" Ash asked politely. A male voice was heard from the inside room "Who is it Sophie?"

The male entered the room. He was tall, but not imposing. He was followed by a Garchomp, who greeted Pikachu happily.

"Garchomp!" {Hello there!} It called out. Ash noticed a Froakie coming out of the shadows. "Kie." {Garchomp.}

So he had been following him again! Thankfully he wasn't injured by Pikachu this time. Truthfully, he couldn't wait to befriend Froakie again. Ash-Greninja had a lot of potential and he had barely scratched the surface. He intended to remedy it this time.

Sycamore turned to Ash and asked "Oh! Who you might be?" Ash suppressed a smile at seeing the Kalosian Professor again, and replied "My name's Ash Ketchum. Professor Oak mentioned you...?"

His face turned into an understandable expression "Oh... So you are the trainer Prof Oak keeps mentioning in our yearly conferences. He holds you in quite high regard."

Wait, really? Ash thought to himself. Why didn't... Oh. He had never mentioned he had started his journey sponsored by Prof Oak. Maybe he should introduce himself like that if it could get him some perks.

{Yes, you were quite the clueless person back then.} A voice replied in his head, sounding suspiciously like Celebi. He shook his head to come back to the present scenario.

"I'm here to introduce myself here Professor. I'm also competing in the Kalos league, so can you help me register?"

Turns out, in Kalos you could register in the league by two ways. Either by Professor Sycamore in advance, or before the League actually started by doing it yourself.

The Professor nodded "Sure. Just give me your Pokédex for a few minutes. You can go and check out the daycare zone for the Pokémon in the meantime."

"Thanks. Wanna tag along Clemont?" Ash asked, turning his face to the blond genius. He nodded quickly "Sure." Bonnie jumped in excitement "There's gonna be so many cute Pokémon!!"

Meanwhile outside the Lab...

"Oh come on Jessie, we can just steal the big looking Garchomp, while nabbing the Twoip's Pikachu." Meowth suggested, licking its lip in anticipation. James agreed "Yeah, and boss will be happy and we will be rich!"

Jessie cackled hearing this "We are coming free holiday~"

"Here it is Ash. All done, you are good to go. And might I mention, as this is your first time in Kalos, you may encounter a strange phenomenon."

"What might it be Professor?" Ash asked, knowing full well what it could be about. Sycamore nodded "What if I told you there was a way to evolve a Pokémon further? In Kalos..."

He basically gave the explanation for mega evolution and then Ash had an idea. "Professor... I might have a Mega Stone myself." Sycamore's eyes widened "Oh? Can you show me?"

Ash nodded, taking out the Lucarionite. The Professor held it in his hand delicately and nodded to himself. His eyes gleamed "Fascinating... Why this might be a Lucarionite. Do you by chance have a Lucario?"

"Kinda. I have a Riolu. I found the Lucarionite in a place where wild Lucario lived in Unova." Ash replied, bullshitting his way.

He raised his eyebrow "I find it quite hard to believe... It is astonishing to find a Lucarionite in Unova. But, if it is true, then... The research! Ash! Can you do me a favour?"

Ash nodded "Sure Professor." Sycamore continued "I am currently researching on the mysterious phenomenon of Mega Evolution. Can you share me your experiences once Riolu has evolved? I kind of have only one research assistant for it..."

"Yeah. It's no big deal." Ash said. The Kalosian Professor's shoulders sagged in relief. Right then, an explosion was heard.

Everyone rushed to the scene, wondering who blasted the entrance to the Lab. The smoke created a dramatic entrance and suddenly lights shined out of nowhere.

"If you ask us this or that..." "The pity of the world is what responds!"

"To prevent the destruction of the world!" "To protect the peace of the world!"

"To stand by the evils of love and truth!" "The lovely, charmy villains!"

"It's Jessie!" "It's James!"

"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!" "Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth! Something like that!"

"Oh come on!" Ash groaned. He was ready to give them a chance to repent their ways, but he also forgot that how annoying they were.

Jessie sneered at him "Go Wobuffet!" A blue Pokémon with a black tail came forward from James's back and cried out its name.

"Riolu, I choose you!" Ash sent out immediately. Clemont also yelled out "We'll help too! Go Bunnelby!"

"Bunnelby, use Tackle!" Clemont ordered. Bunnelby charged forward at Wobuffet, who performed a Counter immediately hitting Bunnelby back.

"Riolu, Aura Sphere!" Ash shouted. Riolu formed a dense ball of Aura and launched it at Meowth.

"Oww! I'm not even foighting!"

"Quilava, come out and use Flamethrower! Then charge in with Flame wheel!" Ash yelled, throwing out another Pokeball.

"Quilava!" Quilava burst out of Pokeball and fired a Flamethrower, which got bounced back by Wobbuffet. But instead of hurting Quilava, his fire got even hotter and brighter, activating his Flash Fire ability.

Wasting no time, he charged headfirst onto Wobbuffet, who didn't even have time to react and got engulfed with fire.

A blast occurred, producing smoke. But when it cleared, Wobbuffet had black soot over his body with swirls in its eyes.

Jessie shrieked "No!" James was quietly backing away, mostly out of fear. Ash grinned at them.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu smirked, facing the trio. "Pika..."

"Not ag—" The three yelled in indignance

"CHU!!!!"

"Aiiiiiinn!" All three shouted out in pain, before the electricity blasted them into the air.

"Team Rocket is blasting off again!!!" "Wobbuffet!"

And they disappeared with a twinkle in the sky.

Ash turned to Quilava "Thanks bud. You did great. Now rest for a while." calling him back to his Pokeball.

Ash then faced Professor Sycamore "Sorry Professor, about the entrance..."

Sycamore laughed heartily "Why are you apologizing? If it was anyone's fault, it were those clowns' fault."

Ash grinned at him. Sycamore then said "Since you are going for the gym badges, why not go to Santalune first? Since the gym leader of this city is on a vacation..."

At this, he glanced slightly over Clemont, who had the decency to look sheepish. "But before you head out, might you do a favour for me?"

"Sure thing Professor. Just ask." Ash replied. The Professor took a briefcase from Sophie and handed it to Ash. "You'll find—"

But before he could finish, Froakie leaped out from the shadows at Ash's direction.

"Fro! Kie!" {Battle me!} It said, pointing his finger at Ash. Ash smiled "Oh you wanna battle me?"

Froakie nodded his head in confirmation. Ash grinned, maybe he would get to catch Froakie anyway. "Pikachu, you up for another battle?"

"Pikachu!" {Yeah!}

Pikachu got ready in a battle stance before Ash ordered. Sycamore stepped back to see why Froakie was challenging Ash.

"Quick Attack to confuse him!"

Pikachu dashed forward with a "Pika!" with a white trail and almost invisible. Froakie took it as a challenge, and threw its frubbles at Pikachu, but ultimately kept missing.

"Give him a taste of Electro Ball!"

"Pika Pika Pika, Chu Pika!" Pikachu cried out as a ball of electricity formed on his tail.

Froakie threw a Water Pulse at Pikachu to retaliate, but it got destroyed by the stronger Electro Ball.

It hit its mark, and Froakie was in shambles. It struggled to stand. Matching his eyes to Ash, it weakly called "Froakie..." {Catch me...}

Ash nodded, before taking out a Pokeball. "Go Pokeball!"

The Pokeball hit Froakie before engulfing him in red light. It shook 3 times, before clicking, indicating Froakie was caught.

"Yes! Ash caught a Froakie! Froakie is so cute too!" Bonnie celebrated happily.

Sycamore smiled at Ash "Congratulations Ash. Froakie doesn't like trainers very much. But you seem to have earned his respect."

Ash smiled nostalgically, knowing that he was the only trainer Greninja respected and listened to.

Then Sycamore handed him the briefcase yet again "Here Ash. This contains three starter Pokémon Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie."

"But why are you giving these to me?" Ash inquired, curious. Sycamore nodded, as if expected the question "A new trainer from Vaniville town will be starting her journey. I haven't received the call from the girl, but from her mother. She said a journey will be good for her. Will you deliver it to them?"

Ash's eyes widened. Was it...? "Who is it Professor?"

Sycamore frowned briefly, "Well, if I remember correctly..." His face changed to a thoughtful look "I think it is for a Serena Yvonne."

Ash grinned at that. So the problem of finding Serena was solved. "Sure Professor."

Ash walked out, getting out his Pokeball. "Go Staraptor!"

Staraptor burst out in full glory, squawking out its name loudly. Then he looked at Ash expectantly.

"Hey, Ash wait!" A panting voice came out.

It turned out to be Clemont, who asked "*gasp* Can I travel with you?"

Ash thought carefully. Then he answered "Yeah, it would be great! But can you wait until I return from Vaniville?"

Clemont nodded "No problem! Just give me a call in Pokecenter when you return!"

Ash grinned at him, climbing Staraptor's back. "Sure."

Staraptor shrieked out it's name before flapping to the sky.

"Hey bud, I think everything will be OK." Ash said to his longtime partner perched on his shoulder.

Pikachu shook his head "Pika Pika." {Don't jinx it.}

Ash just grinned in return, before all three flew away to Vaniville, with Ash thinking about Serena.

And done! The last chapter I had pre-written before posting the first chapter.

As for the change in Serena starting her journey, it's for a reason.

OK maybe it's for plot convenience, but I have a reason for it. It will be in the next chapter.

Ciperdragonite: Of course! I've always wanted Ash's older released Pokémon to be back, and Primape and Butterfree are my top favorite. So don't worry, they'll be making a return too.

ColsonOtis: I wanted to raise Ash's Pokémon carrying limit, but not too much. I agree with the fact, because I've read some Fanfics with Ash having limit of 12 Pokémon, and it becomes way too overwhelming.

Heroicpony: You just mentioned one of the main elements of the Alola Journey! Ash will start getting Z-crystals after his Kalos Journey, and there are a lot of major scenes planned with him getting that. Since I'm felling really happy today for some reason, I'm giving a sneek peek for the Alola. I have already planned for Gigantamax, and for the unique moves Ash created, they will be used in several future battles.

SPOILERS (SKIP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE FUTURE OF ASH'S ALOLA JOURNEY) : The Alola journey will be much more intense than the Anime, as I will be picking up a lot of elements from the games S/M and US/UM.

This is the last chapter I posted in wattpad, and the updates will be taking long as I do have my finals dangling in front of my face.
