Chapter 4 Kelvar Town and Passage Cave
Ash, Aurora, and Serena arrive at Kelvar Town in the next day, they look around the place and Aurora says, "This is Kelvar Town, as you can see, this town is quite normal in this region."
"I can tell, I can't wait to see what this place has to offer." Ash says as he looks at the place in awe.
They go to the Pokemon Center first as they go heal their Pokemon, after that, they go to the bicycle shop to purchase each a bicycle. Serena says, "Wow, Ash. Just how many do you have..."
"Well, after six leagues, I have my own fortune. And as you can see, the Kalos League is the one with the most prize money, so winning the second place gets the most money in my life."
Aurora says, "That sure is quite nice. With this amount of money, there is no doubt that you can buy anything you want."
"Yeah." Ash says.
The next stop they head to is Berry Boutique, where they buy some berries for the dinner ingredients. Ever since they cook together yesterday, Ash and Serena are together brainstorming some new cookings and they want to try them out.
And finally, they hear about a boy whose wallet is stolen, so the two of them go to a nearby grotto to find the thieves, which turns out to be a biker gang. With the help of Pikachu and Sylveon, they manage to defeat the leader of the gang and even take the wallet back to the boy.
It turns out the boy is fake crying so that someone can do his dirty work, so the three of them decide to ignore him and leave the house. Once they are back at the Pokemon Center, the three of them go back to their rooms. Ash is surprisingly helping Pikachu with brushing his fur.
"Ash? What are you doing?" Serena asks in surprise as she sees Ash brushing his Pokemon. "Are you really brushing your Pokemon?"
"Well, I can't always rely on you, Serena. So I have been trying to learn how to style my Pokemon. Am I doing a good job?" Ash asks with a little shy tone.
"Of course, you do a good job. Ash." Serena says. "Pikachu enjoys it a lot, don't you see?"
Pikachu nuzzles Ash and he smiles, "You're right. I am glad that he likes it."
Aurora says, "Serena, can we talk alone for a while?"
Serena is confused at first, but she bids farewell to Ash and she goes to her and Aurora's room. Serena asks, "Aurora, what's the matter?"
"I want to talk to you about my brother, is that fine with you?" Aurora says.
Serena nods and then Aurora starts talking, "You do notice a change in Ash, right? Back then, he dislikes cooking and even styling his Pokemon. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that he finally becomes mature, but are you worried about his change?"
Serena thinks for a while and asks, "Do you think it has something to do with Ms. Ketchum's disappearance?"
"I don't know, but there is one thing for sure, with Mom disappearing, he needs someone to rely on. Since you are now his girlfriend, I trust you to help him out, is it okay with you?"
"Of course, I mean, why not?" Serena says.
Aurora smiles and says, "Now I am relieved for now." Then they go back to Ash's room, this time Pikachu and Eletux are playing with electricity while Ash is brushing Serena's Orchynx, who is sleeping on his lap.
"How is it, Orchynx?" Ash asks, and the Pokemon just gives a lazy purr. Serena says, "Ash, thank you for styling my Orchynx, he feels better."
"I know." Ash says. "Now I am hungry, how about we go have some food?"
Serena blinks for a second and then she smiles, "Of course, you are still the Ash I know."
"Did you say anything?" Ash asks in confusion. "Nothing." Serena replies as they all head to the restaurant.
The next day, they set out for Route 2, and they see a Pokemon sleeping in the trees. Serena says, "That Pokemon is so cute."
"That is Owten, we are at its nook." Aurora says. Serena just takes out a Pokeball at the sleeping Pokemon, and without noticing and resistance, it is successfully captured.
Owten: The Observer Pokemon: Normal and Flying Type. Owten is mainly seen at night when they are looking for berries and other individuals of its species. They are known for their lovely singing voice.
Once the Pokemon is sent back out, it wakes up and notices Serena. "I am sorry to disturb your sleep. But I like you, do you want to travel with us?"
The Pokemon then chirps with a singing voice, and Ash says, "It sure has a lovely singing voice. You two can become a great team."
"You think so? Thank you, Ash." Serena says with a smile.
Ash spots a sphere-like Pokemon. Ash takes out a Pokeball and says, "Primeape. I choose you."
As the Pokemon comes out, Ash says, "Use Karate Chop." The Pokemon immediately chops at the Pokemon, causing it to faint immediately. "That easy?" Ash is surprised.
"It is Steel and Rock Type, Fighting moves are four times effective." Aurora says as Ash captures the Pokemon.
Barewl: The Iron Sphere Pokemon: Steel and Rock Type. Incredibly dense metals make up Barewl's body. They are much heavier than they look. They live in dark caves and feed on rocks and metal ore.
Serena says, "Ash, you didn't tell me you have a Primeape."
"I got it back at his training, you know, the P2 Championship, and right now he is back to my party and I decide to bring him along."
"Is that so." Serena says.
Now the three of them enter the Passage Cave, the cave is a little dark. Aurora says, "Ash, Serena, be careful, we don't know what will be inside of this cave."
"Okay." Ash says, but then they hear Pikachu roaring in pain. "Pikachu, what's wrong?"
They turn to Pikachu, who is lying on the floor with purple bubbles floating in the air, Serena says, "Pikachu is poisoned. But by who?"
"We can think of it later, right now I have some Antidotes." Aurora says as she heals Pikachu, Ash spots a group of ball-shaped Pokemon flying in the air as they are laughing. "Are you the ones who did this to Pikachu?"
"What if we did?" The leader of the Pokemon says. "You stepped into our territory." Then they try to attack Ash, but much to his surprise, his hand forms a Sword, and then it uses Protect, causing the Poison Gas to be blocked. "What the..." Ash is surprised at the sight of a sword in his hand.
"Ash? Where did you get that Sword?" Serena asks. "I don't know, it appears in my hand..."
Aurora says, "That is the Sword of Normal, use it to make any Normal Moves you want."
Ash says, "Okay." Then he uses it to create a Supersonic, causing the Pokemon to fall down with confusion. Serena asks, "Aurora, what are those Pokemon?"
"Those are Tonemy, they are common Poison Type Pokemon in this cave." Serena nods and captures one and scans the Pokemon.
Tonemy: The Poison Ball Pokemon: Poison Type. New trainers traveling through caves are advised to bring along antidotes against a Tonemy's poison, which causes great pain if it isn't treated immediately.
"No wonder, it is a good thing that we are able to treat Pikachu immediately." Serena says as she sends the Pokemon out, the Pokemon is hugged by Serena and then it shows its tongue to Ash, Ash feels a little irritated and he says, "Great, you just have to capture that annoyance."
Serena says, "You are not going to call him annoyance if I am here." Then the Pokemon quickly shows affection, as Aurora and Pikachu look at the two with a little amusement.
"Whatever. If I want a hug, I can just hug Barewl." Ash says, sending out the Pokemon and hugging it, causing Serena to roll her eyes. Then they see a Pokemon popping out of the ground and look at them. "What is that? It just popped out all of a sudden..."
"That is the Grozard, it usually lives in caves and digs holes." Aurora says.
"Cool." Ash says as if somehow he has a Cannon in his hand. "What is this? A Cannon?"
"The Fire Cannon, with it, you can use the Fire Moves."
"What is with these things? First, a Sword that makes me use Normal Moves, and now a Cannon that makes me use the Fire Moves?" Ash asks.
"Those are Aura Weapons, only those who are skilled with Aura are able to use them. Like you."
"Is that so. Let me test it out." Then he uses the Cannon and says, "Use Flamethrower." Then the Cannon shoots out a beam of fire and it lands on the Grozard. "I did it..."
Serena says, "That is really cool."
Aurora says, "Ash, if you don't mind, can I capture this Grozard?"
"Not at all, you can do it." Ash says as Aurora captures the Pokemon.
Grozard: The Serpent Pokemon: Ground Type. Its snakelike body is almost always partially underground. The tunnels they dig make traveling caves hazardous.
"If Ash can do it, does that mean I can do it as well?" Serena asks.
Aurora says, "I don't know about it, our family is blessed with Aura and I don't know if you are..."
"Oh, man...I really want to use them so that I can do it on performances..." Serena says.
"Don't worry about it, Serena. You are already great even if you didn't have these powers." Ash says. "In fact, you are already beautiful and you don't need these powers to ruin your beauty."
"Is the Ash Ketchum flirting with me?" Serena blinks a little and asks, the action causes Ash to blush. Serena also blushes as well and she shakes her hands, "Don't get too serious, I was just kidding."
"Sure." Ash rolls his eyes again. Then he notices a Dunsparce and he finds himself heating up. "I am not going to let it go again. Primeape, use Low Kick before it runs away."
As Ash is working on the Dunsparce, Serena asks, "It is just a Dunsparce, what is he working up for?"
"Maybe he has a bad time with Dunsparce?" Aurora shrugs. "But I am sure that this time he is going to get it no matter what."
Then true to her word, Ash finally captures the Dunsparce and he is cheering with Pikachu and Primeape. "Now he is acting like a kid who gets candy on Halloween."
"Maybe the whole Dunsparce thing is getting on his nerves?" Aurora says.
Dunsparce: The Land Snake Pokemon: Normal Type. Its drill-tipped tail is used to burrow into the ground backward. This Pokémon is known to make its nest in complex shapes deep under the ground.
"Finally. I always thought that Dunsparce has some sort of secret evolution, that's why I have been trying to capture this Pokemon for a long time." Ash says.
"Really? So that's the reason why you're working up trying to capture the Dunsparce?" Serena asks.
"Of course it is." Ash says.
Aurora says, "Let's just stop. We still need to get out of the cave."
Ash and Serena nod as they are trying to navigate their way through the dark cave.

Aurora's Pokemon: Spiritomb, Raptorch, Cubbug, Grozard
